Anyone else think that all children over 3 should wear a mask?

Honestly I don't feel that it is that hard. DD9 (Year 4) says that no one in her school (including teachers) wear a mask or a shield and she is the only one wearing one. DD says that some children in her class cough in each other's faces for a laugh and the teachers do not tell them off or anything. My friend's child is in reception and he has no trouble at all wearing a mask for the whole day.
In my country even babies wear masks and now it is almost back to normal.
I think children especially need to wear masks as they are the ones who get so close up to their friends etc. Even if over 11s wear masks as soon as we get home we would just get all the germs from school that the child took home which makes the cases rise so much here in the UK. In my area there are a lot more confirmed cases in primary schools than secondary schools and sixth forms.
Anyone else share the same opinion?

The idea of babies wearing masks is horrific and unsafe. No way would I be putting a mask on my baby. And my 3.5 year old would struggle to wear a mask for more than a few minutes.

No

You are being ridiculous and I'm highly sceptical that teachers are ignoring children coughing in each others faces. I also can't believe you send your DC to school with a face covering.

yonnie8 · 31/10/2020 22:25

@formerbabe They do tell them not to do it but they still do and don't give them any sort of punishment like staying in during break according to DD.

God no.

Lcats · 31/10/2020 22:28

Over three months even better!

And outside too not just inside!

Maybe not just the children, but domestic animals as well. At least the dogs can be trained to wear mask. Everyone knows dogs are easily trained.

And if someone refuses to wear a mask police should just beat them.

Masks are very important. I am sure it is exactly what stopped Covid in your country. It’s is self evident. If you close your mouth with a mask virus cannot get in. It is that simple. I don’t know how people don’t understand, must be stupid...

No

itchyfinger · 31/10/2020 22:29

No. Newsflash: adults have been wearing masks for months and we are still going into lockdown.

What is the world coming to where we think its normal for kids to have to wear masks and have minimal interaction with peoples facial expressions.

TruckinRight · 31/10/2020 22:29

Sigh. No.

BringBiscuits · 31/10/2020 22:29

3.5 is ridiculous, I have a child that age and they wouldn’t manage it for long at all. However, I’m not sure why older children can’t be wearing them more around high schools.

HotToCold · 31/10/2020 22:30

Stuckforlong · 31/10/2020 22:32

3 too young , 7 years onwards should

AlohaMolly · 31/10/2020 22:32

My 4 year old would probably wear a mask properly for about a minute before it became incredibly unhygienic and more of a super spreader than my DS without a mask!

thisisnotus · 31/10/2020 22:32

No, this is a ridiculous idea. Get a grip 😂

MaryShelley1818 · 31/10/2020 22:33

Definitely not.

My DS is 3 in a few weeks, there is no way he would wear a mask.

yonnie8 · 31/10/2020 22:33

@thisisnotus Why do you think so? I just want your opinion so I'm noy trying to be rude but children spread germs much more than adults do!

Take a hike mate. Zero evidence for that making any difference. It's just window dressing for anxious people.
