Anyone else think that all children over 3 should wear a mask?

Honestly I don't feel that it is that hard. DD9 (Year 4) says that no one in her school (including teachers) wear a mask or a shield and she is the only one wearing one. DD says that some children in her class cough in each other's faces for a laugh and the teachers do not tell them off or anything. My friend's child is in reception and he has no trouble at all wearing a mask for the whole day.
In my country even babies wear masks and now it is almost back to normal.
I think children especially need to wear masks as they are the ones who get so close up to their friends etc. Even if over 11s wear masks as soon as we get home we would just get all the germs from school that the child took home which makes the cases rise so much here in the UK. In my area there are a lot more confirmed cases in primary schools than secondary schools and sixth forms.
Anyone else share the same opinion?

@Ijustcantcope im not ridiculous or precious im just not sure a 3yo would be able to keep a mask clean, not touch it, not end up putting a another child's mask on after lunch, not swap with their peers because there's looks better, not drop it on the floor and put it then over their faces. I think it would have more hygiene cons than pros. Of course this would eventually become a learned behaviour but as we all know with a 3yo this takes time and patience and a lot of prompting.

@Ijustcantcope

My 6 year old and 9 year old go to a school where they can wear masks if they want to as can the staff. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don’t and I try to encourage it if they have a bit of a cold. No one is bothered at all. Parents are just being ridiculous and precious. If they didn’t make such a big deal of it children would adapt to it easily.

And masks on adults do work! It’s just people are catching it all the places where they don’t wear them! Pubs, in family’s homes, schools, socialising with friends.

It's the long term mental effects that I wouldn't even want to risk on my children.

Parents can barely get toddlers to keep gloves and hats on - do you really think they’ll get them to successfully wear masks? Children that age should absolutely not wear masks - end of,

We have masks mandated for everyone aged 12(if at secondary school) and up which I think is a reasonable ask. My younger kids wear masks at some places like a GP or getting their hair cut.

I think it’s possible to get younger kids to wear them, but I think a lot of younger kids would have negetive effects from not being able to see facial cues, sensory difficulties, speech issues that there has to be a balance between the gains vs negetive effects.
