As far as I can tell we'll be better off after Wednesday. Able to meet family outdoors.

7pm

Sweettea1 · 12/10/2020 18:19

7pm and we won't be better of especially here in Liverpool practically lock down again

SummerHouse · 12/10/2020 18:19

Stealth are you in a parallel universe? Or is it me? I totally haven't got the vibe that we will be better off after Wednesday but I flippin hope so.

Aridane · 12/10/2020 18:19

Ah, 7pm, thanks - thought it was 6pm and was frantically channel hopping

SummerHouse · 12/10/2020 18:23

Also wasn't it supposed to be 6pm. Is he keeping us all in suspense so he can make a big entrance. Someone tell the blushing bride I can only boycott all telly for so long.

AlohaMolly · 12/10/2020 18:26

Fuck sake he’s such a nob. I hate how they can’t just say a time and stick to it. It’s not like it’s important information and has a potentially big impact on people’s lives or anything.

beansonbread · 12/10/2020 18:27

I agree, for some parts of the country the rules have eased. Newcastle previously couldn’t meet anyone outside of their household anywhere either indoors or outdoors but now in tier 2, the rule of 6 applies. I can finally meet with my family and friends in parks and even in our gardens again! I’m so pleased that at least for a short while (before were moved to tier 3) that life feels a little more normal - at least in Newcastle.
FlibbertyGiblets · 12/10/2020 18:28

Somebody prod me at 5 to, please. I've got to try and work out how to link new laptop with old monitor. 20 minutes crying then success at the last attempt should bring me near to 7pm.

Aridane · 12/10/2020 18:29

Better off as in clarity?

StatisticalSense · 12/10/2020 18:29

@SummerHouse
For some particular areas that are currently under local restrictions and are moving into tier 2 they'll be relaxations to some of the current restrictions (potentially with other restrictions getting stronger) so for some people with particular preferences it is true to say the new rules are less restrictive than the current ones.

SummerHouse · 12/10/2020 18:31

@AlohaMolly you have summed it up. Grin

I think it's deliberate in order to maximize anticipation, fear, panic and anxiety. And so he can remind everyone how massively important he is that he can keep the country waiting for an hour whilst the media get extra time to catastrophise and speculate.

SummerHouse · 12/10/2020 18:33

@StatisticalSense thank you. I am glad to hear it's not all bad.

Juanmorebeer · 12/10/2020 18:33

Is the parallel universe it is assumed you are in Leicester, Stealth? If so then YES fingers crossed that it is looking good that meeting outdoors will be permitted in tier 2.

10storeylovesong · 12/10/2020 18:33

Not for those of us who live in tier 3.

StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 18:34

No. Wee in Durham, no meeting indoors or out curre tly.

OP posts:
islockdownoveryet · 12/10/2020 18:36

I'm not watching it what's the point it's in the media about the new tier system .
It'll just be him saying we all need to work together and if we don't we will all go in full lockdown etc etc .
Then tomorrow everyone will be rushing out to buy toilet rolls in panic .

Juanmorebeer · 12/10/2020 18:36

Ah OK it is the same in Leicester and they never came out of lockdown so lots of people there will be very much looking forward to meeting in the garden. Got lots of friends there and they are getting v excited on Facebook about patio heaters etc as haven't seen anyone since March

StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 18:36

I never thought new arrangements would essentially allow us to do more stuff. Dcs can meet (carefully) with friends in half term.

OP posts:
Juanmorebeer · 12/10/2020 18:38

Fingers firmly crossed for you and my friends! It will be so good after all this time. I don't think the rest of the country have any idea that some people have been under these restrictions since March

PicsInRed · 12/10/2020 18:40

My fellow Britons.
Together. We. Will FAIGHT this deadly vahrus.
We. Will nehvah surrrrrendah.

StrangeAddiction · 12/10/2020 18:40

Also in NE, I can't get my head round the "fact" we could be moving to tier 2 Confused.

StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 18:45

Yes. I'm going to have a gathering with both sets of grandparents (separately)

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 18:58

Any min now. Really hope I've got this right.

OP posts:
StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 19:01

OK so outdoors and in indoor public places. Woo hoo.

PicsInRed · 12/10/2020 19:04

Oh, that was telling at the beginning. That nod to Rishi, similar to in Boris' address to the commons earlier. Rishi's nervous reaction. I wonder if Rishi has been discussing his vitually untenable, beyond his control position with Boris.
