As far as I can tell we'll be better off after Wednesday. Able to meet family outdoors.

I think they're making the wrong choice, FTR, but I do not envy them having to do the choosing.

Absolutely agree.

SummerHouse · 12/10/2020 20:54

We are able to meet up with family for the first time in weeks, in tier two

I am going to take this as light at the end of an ongoing and really shite tunnel.

Enjoy Stealth I will always remember seeing my sister and her kids approach over a hill on the lockdown lifting.

StealthPolarBear · 12/10/2020 20:58

Thanks. I'm probably going to get rained on aren't I :)

Right there's now a link where you can put your postcode in.
We can meet in a group if fewer than or equal to six, but not at a venue. So I assume we can meet for a walk in the park or in a garden.

Outside I mean. Inside still banned :(

@StealthPolarBear

I'm glad it's brought you (&others) some happiness.

But as far as virus transmission goes the entire thing is a COMPLETE clusterfuck from start to finish.

MaxNormal · 12/10/2020 21:56

I think the update was tense because their was a bit of a fall out between participants. Being fairly reliably rumoured that SAGE wanted a circuit breaker, Johnson was on board and Sunak vetoed.

AlohaMolly · 12/10/2020 22:59

Boris was on board? It must be serious then Sad

Treesofwood · 13/10/2020 07:16

Maxnormal Why would Sunak have the power of veto in that situation?

Chickenandrice · 13/10/2020 07:34

I wonder if they will bring back daily briefing? They really should now that things look worse than spring

MaxNormal · 13/10/2020 08:01

Treesofwood because he's the chancellor.

I'm in the same boat as Stealth, our restrictions have eased. I plan on celebrating by having a few friends round for a cup of coffee in the garden! 🥳 once it stops raining

StealthPolarBear · 13/10/2020 09:11

I'm thinking of meeting some friends this weekend for a walk. I never suspected they would ease restrictions for us, brilliant.

Glad it gives some people the opportunity to have a cuppa together even in the freezing cold!
