Yes.

StatisticalSense · 05/10/2020 15:44

Not unless the weather changed. I can't think of much more miserable than waiting for half an hour (at least) in queues in the cold and wet to go on a ride that takes a couple of minutes. Covid wise I wouldn't have an issue with it as long as the queues were socially distanced and masks were worn on the rides and in indoor areas (where appropriate considering the likelihood of them falling off on certain rides).

CovidPostingName · 05/10/2020 16:07

Not a chance. Regardless of distancing or being outside, it's just too many people in one place for me.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/10/2020 16:25

Yes.

BorisandHarriet · 05/10/2020 16:26

Yes. We did in August.

nevernotstruggling · 05/10/2020 16:29

We went to flambards end of august. It was fine. Social distancing and disinfectant everywhere. I was impressed. We had a great time

RamblingFar · 05/10/2020 16:32

No - and I've got an annual pass.

MJMG2015 · 05/10/2020 16:35

No.

& that's apart from the fact that it's pouring with rain!

EachPeachPearSums · 05/10/2020 16:36

No

Whatwouldscullydo · 05/10/2020 16:37

No. Imo they are overrated they let far too many people in and you spend the whole time queuing for whats essentially seconds on a ride. Someone always misses out standing with the one who's too small to go on the rides.

But in fairness a wet miserable day is the best day to go Grin be quiet...er...

Babyboomtastic · 05/10/2020 16:37

Only when it's raining as they are deserted then, so no SD problems, everything gets washed down by rain and there are no queues.

BBCONEANDTWO · 05/10/2020 16:40

Only if it's sunny then I'd definitely go.

Bellesavage · 05/10/2020 16:43

Yes weve been to Alton towers, Legoland, Chessington and Thorpe park since July. All have been great fun and such a nice change from covid drudgery. Take hand cream though as they ensure you anti bac before and after every ride.

trilbydoll · 05/10/2020 16:46

Yes, we went to Paultons Park in August, we are going to Chessington around Halloween and back to PP for Xmas. I love theme parks Grin PP was absolutely fine when we went in the summer, it was a boiling hot day so everyone was in the water park bit and the rides were deserted!

munchbunch12 · 05/10/2020 16:49

Yes, we went to Legoland Windsor in September and it was fine.

Ethelswith · 05/10/2020 16:51

No because I don't like them.

The teen DCs OTOH do, and would go - it would probably be a good day for them (next to no queues)

Quartz2208 · 05/10/2020 16:52

Yes have Merlin passes and been a few times.

Aragog · 05/10/2020 16:56

Yes, despite being clinically vulnerable I still would.

We went to one int he summer in Germany for the day. We wore masks all day indoor and outdoor, including on rides - eve though it was incredibly hot weather, it was fine. Indoor rides were being given a quick wipe down between guests. Outdoor ones weren't. Lots of sanitiser everywhere - much more of that and mask wearing than in the Uk at the time. Wasn't as bust as theme parks normally are and here was SDing in queues, etc.

It felt safe.

GameSetMatch · 05/10/2020 17:12

Yes, we went at the end of July, it was fine. It felt safer than the playground as it was cleaned after each rider.

Viv0321 · 05/10/2020 17:52

Thanks everyone for their replies.Smile

Was thinking one of the Merlin parks so should be ok.

Spacemonkey2016 · 05/10/2020 17:53

Yes, going to Legoland tomorrow!

girlicorne · 05/10/2020 18:04

We have been every weekend since they reopened in July mainly merlin parks but also some others. There are reduced numbers, sanitiser everywhere and markers in the queue for distancing. Masks are required on the rides at of the parks we have been to and the merlin parks and fantasy island check your temperature on entry. Yes there are idiots who crowd you in the queues but that’s not the parks fault and with the measures in place I would say even with the idiots the risk of transmission is very low.

CrappleUmble · 05/10/2020 18:38

On safety grounds yes, it's outside and they'll be disinfecting everything constantly. On practical grounds I don't know, a lot of people have said it's a bit shit. I have been to a zoo and that was fine.

TattyMcBab · 05/10/2020 18:42

No, and I have an annual pass I’m not using. I have no doubt they’re doing as good a job as they can but I have no desire to wear a mask all day and I just don’t trust other people.
