I speak for everyone but I’m so bloody sick of this now. Covid this, covid that all the bloody time.

Now Chris Whitty is saying we should have another national lockdown. Yes the numbers seem to be getting out of control but for crying out loud, people’s mental health is going to be worsened and god knows what that’ll do to the economy, as if the first lockdown wasn’t bad enough!!

I sincerely hope 2021 is a far more pleasant year. Right now it feels like this will never end and we’ll just be stuck in an endless coronavirus cycle forever.

6 months of this crap is enough. God it’s so frustrating

Not that you asked, but YANBU.

I fear we’ve a while to go though.... Sad

OpheliasCrayon · 17/09/2020 18:51

Would be lovely. And there better not be another lockdown!

RandallBoggs · 17/09/2020 18:52

I thought the source ‘quoting’ Whitty retracted their statement?

Jrobhatch29 · 17/09/2020 18:54

I've just gone into local lockdown today and can't see my parents again. Really can't cope with that Sad my DS1 came down with a temp on Tuesday and had to be tested for school. My DS2 started reception on Monday and has only lasted one day before we have had to isolate for what is a most likely a cold. 3 days later and still no results so probably won't get back until next week now. Utterly fed up. And because we don't have results, we can't even see my parents tonight before the restrictions tomorrow SadSad

Awful!! So sorry to hear that. It’s really annoying now. Hopefully this will all sort itself out. Just bored of it now

Totally feel the same way. Haven't seen my mum since before lockdown, nor my sister since Christmas and no possibility of seeing them again for quite some time, it seems.
It's all getting a bit bleak, isnt it?

willagedisgracefully · 17/09/2020 20:34

Am on hols half hour from parents in Wales. First time seeing them since just before Xmas. Prob last for a while too and still only meeting outside. It’s horrible. They are eighties and scared

Scottishgirl85 · 17/09/2020 20:44

Second half of 2021 should be better! Just need to realign expectations. This winter is going to be very tough for many :-(

starrynight19 · 17/09/2020 20:48

We are going back into lockdown on Saturday. No households mixing anywhere including pubs / gardens etc I wish I worked with my family Sad

Cripesitsthegasman19 · 17/09/2020 21:40

I'm so sick of it all. There has literally been nothing positive or fun about this year. My home has been turned into a prison and I can hardly bear to live there anymore.

Deux · 17/09/2020 21:50

My teens say it’s like living the Hunger Games.

Heyahun · 17/09/2020 22:20

It’s not going anywhere you need to find something to do with your time, stop watching the news and reading about it so much.

I haven’t seen my parents since January as they live in a different country a it’s crap but what can you do! It will eventually be possible but for now you just have to get on with it.

Am actually getting more fed up of so many people banging on about it and how unfair it is to be honest 😂

Ellsbells12 · 17/09/2020 22:54

Had enough too loads and loads of people feel the same you are not alone

I think we have all got a right to moan about this situation.

Meh, my area has gone into lockdown again but quite frankly I don't give a damn. I am still going to see my parents and other relatives.

My Facebook is full of people saying they will not be sticking to it. Everyone is fed up now.

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 17/09/2020 23:01

And if they want to fine me I say bring it on!

EveryPlanetHasAYorkshire · 17/09/2020 23:05

Also OP I am not sure if you got the memo but you aren't allowed to talk about mental health otherwise you are 'pulling the mental health' card.

It's strange how at the start of the year there was a big push to raise awareness for mental illness and encourage people to speak out if they were feeling low. But as soon as we went into lockdown suddenly it's 'suck it up!' and 'get over it!'. Just goes to show they didn't really give a damn about mental health. They were just jumping on the bandwagon.

MandosHatHair · 17/09/2020 23:06

@Heyahun you can hide the Coronavirus topic if it's bothering you

MandosHatHair · 17/09/2020 23:08

I'm totally fed up with it too OP, the thought of another lockdown fills me with dread. The government should only be restricting people's liberties if they have exhausted all the other avenues, but they can't even get testing right!

OP - I understand why you're fed up and most people, surely all, will be feeling similar.

But do you have some idea of what we should do about it? We shouldn't have to lockdown - if the government was a bit better organised. But if there are no more restrictions Covid will rip through the UK and many many people will die.

Without a lockdown (and there can't be one for very long this time) many more people are going to die than last time. I think we're all in for a big shock tbh.

I’m not saying there shouldn’t be any restrictions, there should be, but they should only be in the areas with extremely high numbers

It just feels never ending. I really hoped hospital admissions would stay down despite infection rates rising but they seem to have tripled in the last two weeks

I was really hoping all the talk of a second wave being worse than the first was wrong but I fear we are heading into it now

I just hope all the posters talking of civil unrest etc due to repeated lock downs (in the original threads) aren't going to be proved right about that too

I've tried really hard to stay upbeat and see the positives of being at home but there doesn't seem to be an end in sight now and it's making it more and more difficult

My Nan doesn't have many years left and I'm genuinely starting to question whether I'll ever see her again (she's in a care home that isn't allowing visitors)

Putmynewshoeson · 17/09/2020 23:57

I seem to be living with a permanent low level anxiety or feeling of dread these days

Hearwego · 18/09/2020 00:06

The furlough scheme comes to an end in October. There won’t be another one. How can there be another lockdown, realistically if people can’t go to work. People will wonder what the point of living is.
Who will people live?
I think Boris is/ will do anything else just short of a lockdown.
