I always felt the restrictions on outdoor gatherings were unecessary and OTT, which (IMO) has been proven by the fact that there's been no increase while they've been allowed (or while they happened in breaches of the rules).
I also think it's interesting that there's been no increase while schools have been taking higher numbers? Children and schools really aren't the hit bed of infection we thought? Or schools have beeen spectacularly good at managing hygiene and infection control? Personally I think the latter as the person in charge of that stuff at our school
Pubs do worry me. I was out with a group running last night. Often after a race we'd end up in a pub. All law abiding basically decent people whi have stuck to the SD rules but after a number of celebratory drinks....everyone lets their guard down and does things they wouldn't usually do, even if it's only mild things like hugging people or sitting a bit closer than you intended.
Since it's been allowed, I've been glad to go and have a cuppa in my parents' garden. Today, technically, I can go indoors but I'll be happier if we stay on the garden, for their sakes.
That said, if there are few cases now, in the community, the risk really is very low.
