Carrying on from the last Ocado thread that is about to fill up. Still haven’t been given a toblerone yet.

Just joining the thread...I've had a smart pass for years and every year I send an email saying I want to leave and they give a deal - last time it was £6.99 a month and 3 months free. This time they said ok bye Shock . So it's cancelled, but I'm having a wobble about it. Ocado is the best delivery service for me. I rarely get substitutions and it was the only place I could get a slot during lock down. Tempted to say I've changed my mind.
If I cancel and then rejoin in a few months will it be £10.99 or £9.99? Does anyone know?

PersephonePromotesEquanimity · 08/09/2020 11:37

No, no one can know what any other customer will be charged at some date in the future! There doesn't seem to be any discernible pattern to subscription fee increases.

viccat · 08/09/2020 11:56

Second week since the M&S switch and only one very sensible substitution this time so definitely an improvement from last week.

My anytime Smart Pass has been £8.99 for a few years now. I'm fine with that although slightly envious when I hear others get it for as low as £2.99!

Quarantino · 08/09/2020 16:25

My first Ocado in a few weeks (first since the switch) and had lots of subs and missing two packets of muesli that I always get. This stuff had mainly been in my cart for at least a week. Hope this improves or they will need to have better subs management (keep them in a separate bag, allow customer choice over which items can be subbed or not).

Birthdayhat · 08/09/2020 16:49

Our delivery today has so many missing items (including eggs, you really have no eggs to substitute??) and some substitutes too. Annoying as the general lack of substitutes is why we use them.

HexyAndIKnowIt · 08/09/2020 19:52

BOYCOTT!!!!!!!

no Percy pig ice cream in stock.
Bastards.

JacobReesMogadishu · 08/09/2020 20:19

In my order last week I had an amazing M&S count on us ready meal....chicken onion bhaji curry. Only 300 odd calories and very tasty. I’ve been to 2x food halls now and neither stock it.....

does anyone know is some M&S stuff on Ocado only available on Ocado?

justmewithmylifetoday · 08/09/2020 21:13

Our smart pass is £1.99 apparently... Chicken onion bhaji curry? I need this in my life!!

Quarantino · 08/09/2020 21:45

I finally got something free, Percy Pigs, after not even a sniff of Toblerone, and I don't get what the fuss is all about! They're no shrimps, are they?

Yellowbutterfly1 · 08/09/2020 23:24

Just downloaded my receipt for my delivery due tomorrow morning.

All substitutions will be going back
Plain oil instead of garlic infused oil
Sausage rolls instead of cocktail sausages
Tropicana orange juice instead of M&s orange juice

The orange juice should cost me about £2.50 but they want to charge me £7.50

Not happy at all

Sertchgi123 · 09/09/2020 03:43

Just one substitute, extra fresh toothpaste came instead of the one I ordered. Everything else came and was good.

Madcats · 09/09/2020 10:09

I stumbled on some slots a week ago (after I'd moaned) and this evening's receipt shows no subs (even school tights in it)!

The use by dates aren't great, though; all the meat and fish needs to be eaten by Saturday (fruit and veg is better). Our "we need to clear some space in the freezer" lunch will be 'interesting'.

My use by dates are definitely on the short side of the "average use by" days that I DOUBLE CHECKED when ordering. There was lots of stuff out of stock/not available when I tried to order (at least I knew in advance and could go to a shop).

Early days, I suppose. I hope the (M&S) suppliers are fast learners.

FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich · 09/09/2020 10:57

The use by dates are shocking. Not only is most M&S stuff only 2/3 days, but I had something delivered this morning that ran out yesterday, so had to faff around asking for a refund.

Not impressed that there were no subs for the apples and oranges in my order today!!

MyDogSmells · 09/09/2020 11:59

@FredAstaireAteMyHamSandwich

The use by dates are shocking. Not only is most M&S stuff only 2/3 days, but I had something delivered this morning that ran out yesterday, so had to faff around asking for a refund.

When I got some wildly out of date steak delivered I had no luck requesting refund via the official channels but when I messaged them on Twitter it was dealt with within hours. Might be quicker to go that route than official channels.

Wolfcub · 09/09/2020 14:11

Lots of missing items today and an utterly substitution of two pots of beetroot in place of two missing bags of salad. I'm pretty sure there are lots of options for bags of leaves that they can send so I'm quite cross about this. I've never had a problem with subs before. The salad I'd ordered wasn't even M&S but it feels like there's a push to replace missing items with M&S ones even if they aren't remotely related

Fuss · 09/09/2020 14:26

I’ve had my £10 ocadoversary voucher today with apologies that it’s late from April 😊

AdaColeman · 09/09/2020 15:00

Today was my first delivery from the M&S partnership, though I've been an Ocado customer for many years.

Several items were unavailable, especially irritating was the loss of an M&S Rainbow Layered Birthday cake, which I'd had on order for several days. Surely they would have know that they had no stock? What a pity they didn't email me yesterday, then I would have chosen something else.

I had several substitutions, not all of them logical.

I'd ordered a tub of French cream cheese, which was substituted with a block of M&S Lancashire hard cheese. They could have sent me Philly or similar.

I think their "substitute picking" BOT needs a good tweaking, as the only link between the two types of cheese is that the Lancashire cheese has the word "creamy" in its name.

I agree that they seem focused on substituting with M&S products, whatever the original product was.

Several of my fresh items have quite short dates, which I'm a bit disappointed by. But hopefully, as their stock levels system beds in properly, and customers settle down again to their regular orders after all the recent upheavals, it will all work smoothly once more.

viccat · 09/09/2020 15:25

I've had my Ocado-anniversary email too (was actually in March) and apparently I've been a customer for 14 years. Shock

Onceuponatimethen · 09/09/2020 15:39

I got a meat product that had a very short date - 2 days. They did refund but it left us without dinner because I hadn’t noticed and didn’t have anything to swap it with

MyDogSmells · 09/09/2020 15:50

My anniversary was August and got nothing Sad

Weirdly I've just realised that my ocadoversary is the same date as my wedding anniversary Grin

Fuss · 09/09/2020 18:10

Suspect they are working through and you’ll get your voucher soon MyDog.
Mine was April and Viccat March so probably working up to it Grin

tootyfruitypickle · 09/09/2020 18:16

I had mine too- customer for 11 years!!
Feeling very virtuous that I bought chocolate to share with DD instead of wine. Told her my sacrifice and she was unimpressed

tootyfruitypickle · 09/09/2020 18:17

@MyDogSmells that’s literally the only thing that has made me smile today !!

EveLe · 09/09/2020 19:17

I've just had my email - Mine was in May and I've been a customer for 6 years apparently!
