Ah I certainly won't be chasing after him willow. I thought we were getting quite a nice dynamic going but I'm not so sure now 🤷🏻‍♀️

First world problems eh.

Peggy that Trev is overstepping the mark big time!! Enjoy getting pissed tonight 😊

Trevsadick · 23/05/2020 08:56

I feel like 💩

Morning!

Trev is demonstrating why privacy laws had to be introduced. I expect after the complaint he will wind his neck in a bit with some whiney comments 'cant see the problem if people have nothing to hide'.

Going up to the allotment this morning but no planting today as it is blowing a gale.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 23/05/2020 09:39

bangs pots and pans

MORNIIIIING!!

Should we call you dick or trev ?Grin

Morning! My reply to Trev would involve mention of the GDPR. And possibly vague but threatening mentions of safeguarding. I'm not suspecting Trev of being anything worse than a busybody, but an unrelated adult with no real connection to a child trying to get hold of data on that child looks dodgy, I would say. I'm no expert though.

Willow2017 · 23/05/2020 10:32

Morning.
Hope you feel better soon Trev. Have a nice fry up that will sort you out.😄

Working later and will be murdering thousands via my takeaway coffees and sarnies. All those virus laden cups😲😲

Wind still blowing hard here. Enough already!

Trevsadick · 23/05/2020 12:20

trev is definitely going to pull the 'i was just asking as a converned colleague card'. But it appears there's been a few complaints. So meh.

Please call me dick.....thats preferable.

I didnt do a fry up. I had supernoodles. Now just laid on the sofa, scrolling tiktok (my dd convinced me to download it, its actual quite funny).

Gonna have a nana nap, i think!

CrowCat · 23/05/2020 12:39

Morning dick, I gather you had a fun night of booze! Hope you're not feeling too bad today.

I really need to go do a food shop. It's blowing a gale and it's freezing! DD2 won't be happy to be pulled away from roblox.

GnomeDePlume · 23/05/2020 13:05

We are blowing a gale, dry and warm. Like the mistral. We shall all have gone mad by the end of the weekend.

Lomo (pork loin) baguettes for lunch.

CrowCat · 23/05/2020 13:35

So some other big wig also made a mockery of the guidelines then!? Travelled with his kids to be cared for by his sister when his wife had symptoms and they should have been isolating instead of mixing households!!

The reactions on here seem to be summed up in 'oh.. maybe we being idiots for sticking to these guidelines quite so strictly then..'

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 23/05/2020 13:39

Is that Cummings? I've read about it. Not surprising really.

Very excited as it's the first time I got a food delivery shop since this madness began. What have I been reduced to?Grin

OP posts:
110APiccadilly · 23/05/2020 14:47

I'm actually surprised by Cummings, just because apparently the stuff that has been released from SAGE suggests that he was keen on locking down earlier (despite speculation, he appears to have had nothing to do with "herd immunity"). But then, Ferguson was also pretty keen on locking down, I suppose.

I think it just goes to show that the guidelines are not really workable or enforceable over any serious length of time.

I will continue to do my part in infecting the waterways and rainfall of this great nation. Disinfect your umbrellas, people!

CrowCat · 23/05/2020 16:22

I just went to Lidl. Fairly quiet but some twat really got me wound up at the end.

Mum with a baby strapped to her back and 2 DC, looked about 4 or 5. Too big for a pushchair. She's frantically trying to pack whilst keeping her DC away from people best she can, but they're barely more than babies at that age and don't have a clue what 2 fucking metres is. Some bastard starts having a go at her cos 'your fucking kid is stood near me' like he's some disease ridden rat not a perfectly pleasant human child!! Eurgh. She was apologising over and over and trying to get everything packed. This guy kept having a go and a member of staff came and helped her out sharpish with the packing. I could happily have laid this guy out flat quite frankly, and it's a bloody good thing he wasn't saying it to me because I certainly wouldn't have been apologising I'd have been ripping him a new one. Kids that age have no focus, goldfish brain, and it's been tough shopping with a 9yo so I can only imagine how hard it is with 3 tiny ones!!

Have people forgotten they're dealing with other human beings??

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 23/05/2020 17:09

Yes. It's what made start a thread in the first place.

I'm super pissed off today. I've seen this growing disdain for people who have to take kids out with them during pandemic, like we're selfish lurgy ridden super spreaders. I've felt during this whole lockdown that single parents are being demonised, but today took the biscuit.

I have a friend who's a single dad of 2 small DC, one of whom is autistic. He says it's been a nightmare and many people just refuse to have even a modicum of care or understanding.

Some people need to stay in lockdown for good quite frankly.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 23/05/2020 17:46

Yes the pandemic was an awesome excuse for people to throw their bile and disdain around at children in general and in particular very young ones or those with SEND and single parents. Someone's worth depended on being able to social distance and follow discriminatory rules , both real and made up.

OP posts:
110APiccadilly · 23/05/2020 18:39

A surprising number of people seem not to like children very much. And they finally have a socially acceptable reason to disprove of them. Poor kids. (And poor parents, for that matter.)

Willow2017 · 23/05/2020 19:10

Thats been very evident on here since this fiasco started. Its bloody disgraceful for a patenting site.

Trevsadick · 23/05/2020 19:55

I have found a lot of people hostile to me as a single parent with ds (hfa).

My mum is disabled to gets loads of shit because she doesnt look disabled enough. Especially from other disabled people.

Whats happening with peoples disdain against certain groups doesnt surprise me at all.

I remember at my sons and neohews kids rugby club, there was a group of mums that disliked me. They changed completely when they realised I had a dp and my nephews were his nephews and their mum my sil.

I am not shocked how shit people are with certain groups.

I have found myself in verbal altercations a few times. Especially in defence of my mum.

GnomeDePlume · 24/05/2020 10:20

This situation does seem to be bringing out the best in some and the worst in others.

Posts where people are complaining about furloughed staff enjoying themselves.

The constant whinging about 'er three doors down having deliveries/visitors/a smile on her face.

'Put that fun out, don't you know there's a plague on'

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 24/05/2020 10:26

It's a cheap free for all shot really. Some people felt that could go all out and attack/limit whatever section of society they dislike in the name of lockdown and get praise and support for it. Let's face it most normal people would have broken at least one rule , especially when you add the made up ones, clapping, optics etc.

OP posts:
Trevsadick · 24/05/2020 10:42

I dont get the 'the furloughed shouldnt have fun'.

When my team were furloughed it really impacted me. It was really hard work. I never once hoped they were having a shit time.

I do know one person, who had people on furloughed that were constantly taking the piss out of them for working. That must be annoying. But thats because those people are dicks.

I dont get why peolle are resentful of furloughed people. Its like if you are furloughed you must suffer.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 24/05/2020 11:21

It's basic logic isn't it?

A lot of people are dicks.
A lot of people have been furloughed.(or whatever other category people decide they should sharpen their claws on)
Some people that have been furloughed will also be dicks.

OP posts:
GnomeDePlume · 24/05/2020 11:25

I would far rather my furloughed assistant was enjoying himself. The reality is that he is miserable, desperate to get back to work.

My pleas to my boss keep falling on deaf ears when she pushes it up the chain. Appearances seem to be more important than the reality.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 24/05/2020 11:35

It seems to be a very depressing race to the bottom. A mix of competitive misery coupled with screeches of "you're not miserable enough!"
