DD has been entertaining herself in the evenings making face masks. I have suggested that she could make a version using the pouchy bit of a Y front so the wearer could pop in a biscuit or sweet if they wanted to.

What do you think?

Gnome Genius idea your DD could make a fortune, marketed right they would sell like hot cakes. Grin

Crow thats pants. Pity these people couldnt see themselves from the outside just to realise how ott they are being. Hope he recovers soon! Choc on its way, and wine, and more choc and more wine...

Work ok, went to get shopping then to the garden centre. Was giddy with the sight of all those plants! All very calm and nobody faffing nor fussing. Had to leave before I bankrupted myself and had to buy more pots! but I will be back as I found a spare pot out the back!

Peggy thats some achievement, well done you! Maybe make a thread about it on here full of angst and guilt and see who bites? maybe not as they will, like rabid dogs! Grin grin]

OOOOOHHHH no no no Princess they wont get within pitchfork distance of her after that confession! they will be building a bonfire though

SpamandSparkle · 19/05/2020 15:45

Oh I'm so glad I found this thread.... all I want is common sense to be used.

I broke my shoulder at start of lockdown refused to go to hospital at first by stating everything was just fine... hubby got me there and so glad I did go. I was expecting it to be an absolute living hell of covid patients all on trolleys in the corridors everywhere....
It wasn't and I'm trying to tell people to go if they get an appt or need to be seen - if anything it felt cleaner than ever before (probs due to extra procedures and lack of customers)
I'm still suffering with this bloody shoulder and have to go shopping with hubby so been getting a few dirty looks as I use a stick for balance and occasionally the sling comes out if shoulder bad.

Whats up Princess?

CrowCat · 19/05/2020 16:02

Thanks Princess, I seem to be surrounded by twats irl. I was going to ask if everything is ok but it clearly isn't, what's up?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/05/2020 17:08

Several people going "aww bless her" and "poor DD" because she has to go to school when I go back. I'm not sending her to the fucking gallows. My choices are limited. And just arghhh

She's not poor anything!! Grrr!

OP posts:
CrowCat · 19/05/2020 17:14

Oh ffs.

GnomeDePlume · 19/05/2020 17:15

What a silly thing to say to her Princess. Is she looking forward to going back?

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/05/2020 17:21

She is quite happy to go. One of her best friends will be in too as her mum is a teacher and they've been planning it all day.

Just made me feel like a shit mum, you know. "Ohhh such a shame". It's my job . I'm being paid for it,despite my moaning I love it and I'm good at it. She's going to school.

My choices are:

1.go in , DD goes to school
2.quit
3.push to stay home ,but it would be unpaid and not great for several reasons
4.OH stays home and we go bankrupt.

I'm just trying to make the best of a weird ,unknown situation.

Feeling sorry for my kid is not freaking helping!

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/05/2020 17:22

They didn't say it to her( that would be me going nuclear), just to me.

OP posts:
GnomeDePlume · 19/05/2020 17:34

Suitable responses:

  1. Oh no she's fine, just glad we are letting her off her chimney sweeping shift on the days when she goes in.
  2. I know! We'll have to jet wash her with bleach when she comes in which is such a hassle
  3. I know! Who is going to keep my glass topped up now?

Mind when my DCs were small and would come up with a scratched finger I would look at it carefully and with a serious voice say 'oh no, I'll have to cut it off'.

Obviously stopped that when DH did accidentally cut the end of DS' finger off.

Gnome I used to shout " Just remember , if you kill yourself it's not my fault!" In the playground. That might explain why I haven't made many mum friends.Grin

Meh tossers Princess I cant work out how people expect to continue without pay for ever? until there is a vaccine in 2023 Its crazy, some people dont seem to look forward past the nose on their face. We cant continue like this forever.

My ds2 is itching to go back to proper learning despite not being a fan of some classes as they cocked up the seating/year groups but he thinks its better than doing it alone even with support from school. He just wants things normal again.

Why on earth didnt they start with the high schools who can pretty much SD and who were doing it pre lockdown, hand washing etc etc? Or do both at once? Moot point here as ours wont be back till August anyway. Bloody gov. Angry

Peggysgettingcrazy · 19/05/2020 18:04

Maybe make a thread about it on here full of angst and guilt and see who bites?

I might add some key phrases.

Such as 'i have been shedding virus for weeks!' Or ' there i am, spreading it all over the supermarket....maskless'

Imagine the backlash when I reveal i didnt even self isolate for 14 days as it was before that. I mean I pretty much stayed in but had visitors and manged to walk to the local shop on about day 9. I may have even sat on a bench. 😱 I will also add some hyperbole about me being typhoid Mary style figure!

I will end it with....'it wasnt even that bad.....it was just like flu. Don't know what the fuss is all about!'

Ah Princess people are dicks. They really are. And sometimes they seem to want people to have a tough time. They seem to hope people (including children) are miserable if they do anything different. DS has HFA, the amount of people who keep saying 'ah you must be really struggling, he must hate this. Is he distressed?' With a fake sympathetic face. They look visibly annoyed when I point out, he pretty much hates most people and is loving it. And that we are all fine.

They are true dementors

I dont have any 'mum' friends either. Mr and my best friend met at work and just happen to have kids.

We bonded because neither of us really like most people 🤣

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 19/05/2020 18:12

Why on earth didnt they start with the high schools who can pretty much SD and who were doing it pre lockdown, hand washing etc etc?

The cynic in me thinks main reason is childcare. Then a little bit of social experiment/herd immunity amongst the population that are least likely to get seriously ill, with y6 added to justify "transition" years. Then to see how schools can/will cope for September and gauge public response. And lastly convenient scape goat if things go tits up. It'll be everyone else's fault for not following guidance.

God I sound like I need my very own tin foil hat rack don't I?Grin
