So Australia has approx 20 new cases a day and barely no deaths.

So how come they are still locked down?

many teachers are loathing working from home, too.
We got dd school newsletter friday, you could sense the excitement when they wrote they were close to full attendance and online learning will soon be scrapped.

Was in city yesterday, shops were like it was a few days before Christmas. Was jam packed everywhere and you know what, it was awesome to see some normal life

janeskettle · 17/05/2020 04:28

It might be awesome to see people jam packed in shops in SA, where there have been very few cases, but it's less than awesome to see it in Sydney, where there have been many more, and we've been told that keeping community spread low is reliant on people changing their behaviours when out and about.

But seeing as I'm in SA I will celebrate it and not feel bad.
Don't get me wrong, it sucks that levels still high in other states but after so much shit it's worth celebrating some normal to me

Public transport is a problem. It’s much less frequent than London so gets very full. I hope they are supportive of varied start times etc.

squeekums · 17/05/2020 15:19

Our public transport has always been a joke, its nothing new. They would have known it would happen
I can guarantee people wont just wait for the next one like the chauffeur driven health minister suggests.
There was talk of needing parts for some of the trains but they cant get them or they on way.
