I went out today for a dog walk and things are definitely busier here. More cars, people and my local park had lots of people sat around. Its definitely changed in the last few weeks. I'm in SE London. Hows things where you are?

It’s is definitely busier out. I have noticed it going to work, at the beginning it was empty when I was going to and from work, the last week I have sat in traffic, but I don’t think that’s anything to do with people breaking the rules. A lot more places are opening now so more people are travelling to work.

bigchris · 02/05/2020 20:12

@maddiemookins16mum why the colak and dagger Grin, ashford right ?

bigchris · 02/05/2020 20:13

But ehere is everyome going, nothing is open except Tesco etc and bbq !

yearinyearout · 02/05/2020 20:29

Seemed busy today on dog walk but I think that's because it's the first nice sunny day here all week.

Local fb pages still full of people moaning about everyone else. One woman posted a photo she'd taken from her car sat in traffic exclaiming "where are all these people going?!"
Same fucking place as you Lisa!

bigchris · 02/05/2020 20:32

MarieQueenofScots · 02/05/2020 20:33

Still quiet here.

Live near a tourist spot and noticeably quieter than it would be normally.

bigchris · 02/05/2020 20:34

People were queuing for an hour to go inside B and Q
In the rain !

I just couldn't be arsed , if the garden and diy don't get done then so be it !

Kobey123 · 02/05/2020 20:42

Live rural South West scotland, once a week when I travel to nearest town 15 miles away, every week it's getting busier and less people wearing masks and gloves, scared me this is relaxing to soon.

paradisefalls · 02/05/2020 20:45

I live on the A1 it's been a lot busier these last 2 weeks.

ThePittts · 02/05/2020 20:47

Yes definitely busier on the roads this week, had to wait to get on the roundabout on the way to Sainsburys, whereas last few weeks, no cars about. East Sussex

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 02/05/2020 20:50

My road is like the m1 with foot traffic. I've lived here just shy of a decade & have never seen so many people walking up & down. Lots more vehicles this week took

Connie222 · 02/05/2020 20:50

I live on a main road into town and to be honest, It’s been busy throughout lockdown with cars and groups of people walking/stopping and chatting but for the last week it’s been almost back to pre lockdown times.

I’m in an area of the West Midlands where we are second behind London for cases and deaths.

Xiqu · 02/05/2020 20:50

I think people have pretty much given up pn the lock down around here (South Wales).
Busy roads, parks, town, icecream vans, picnics and busy shops.
I messed up my Tesco click and collect and had by mistake booked it for another town about 11 miles away. I didny6kniw until I'd driven to my local Tesco, who didn't have my order!!
So I've driven the furthest I have on 6 weeks today. Traffic wasn't too bad but still busier than it has been but people everywhere. I had to get petrol. Everyone around me was coughing. There were no gloves. I watched 2 people each side of me repeatedly and continously cough and still touch everything on the pumps!!
I think the basic messages if stay home if you have symptoms message has been forgotten and the mentality of but I'm allowed out to shop/exercise etc has over ruled the but not if you have a cough.

bloodywhitecat · 02/05/2020 20:52

Very quiet still here today, the roads were busier yesterday early morning but I suspect there might be others like DP who was taken off furlough and asked to return to work as it was the 1st of the month. We had to go to our local Aldi today and there were only a handful of cars in the car park with no queue to get into the store, the Morrisons across the road was similar.

bloodywhitecat · 02/05/2020 20:53

Sorry Norfolk/Suffolk border.

Bol87 · 02/05/2020 21:07

West Yorkshire - pretty average lockdown day here. Lots of families out walking but keeping their distance.. probs more cars but always is at the weekend.. I spotted a couple sets of people not distancing but that’s also normal to see. My neighbours have a bloody gathering of mates in their garage every Friday 🤦🏼‍♀️ We’ve reported them twice but nothing happens!

PeachOrchid27 · 02/05/2020 21:07

I’m on the south coast. It seems business as usual here. Lots of cars out. I sat in traffic yesterday just going to the local shop. Apart from the queues it was much like any other Friday.

Yesterdayforgotten · 02/05/2020 21:09

I agree op, people seem to be easing off abit even though for now the rules still stand

palacegirl77 · 02/05/2020 21:17

Sheffield S11. Perfect bubble of people doing it right. Empty roads, people keeping apart, supermarkets fully stocked. People wearing masks, keeping apart, courteous. No deaths in this postcode at all. Even though several parents (keyworkers) in school tested positive. Groups set up to get each others shopping, prescriptions etc. Very very lucky to live in such an amazing place.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 02/05/2020 21:17

SE London
Noted a few more shops open (key cutting shop . Café open again but only for takeaway . Homebase) and more traffic than I have seen since Lockdown.

LilyPond2 · 02/05/2020 22:02

Xiqu, that's interesting what you say about people giving up on lockdown in South Wales. You can actually see that reflected in the estimated rates of Covid-19 infection for South Wales which are higher than for most of the UK covid.joinzoe.com/data#levels-over-time

ToffeeYoghurt · 02/05/2020 22:05

This thread gives me deja vu.

There were several saying exactly the same thing a week ago. Almost to the word. I do hope nobody is influenced by these thread into doing something stupid. Unfortunately the 'if you can't beat 'em, join them' attitude can be quite persuasive.

My friend lives in SE London and says it's still quiet there. Which makes sense given so many have died from that part of the country. Its a big area though so presumably she lives in a different part to PP.

Toothsil · 02/05/2020 22:31

We've got bloody holidaymakers here 🙄 Overheard in the village shop this morning saying they were on holiday, staying just along the street.

Esptea · 02/05/2020 22:41

We abandoned a socially distanced walk today as it just didn't feel safe. We felt like we were the only ones crossing the road anymore. So many people out with dogs off the lead too which seems crazy as they were then having to wade in to drag their dogs off other people's dogs. People keep hearing about other countries going back to normal and think it's fine to follow suit. They don't realise that many of these countries had much stricter lockdowns which got cases down quicker and which now mean they can 'relax' their lockdowns to the same level as ours has been at all along.

inwood · 02/05/2020 22:52

More people but everyone observing distancing, it's the weekend and it was sunny
