Boris completely misunderstands the question

Michelle in Cornwall says they are getting inquiries about booking their holiday let from June onwards, but they are worried about people from cities bringing a second wave to Cornwall. How will tourism be managed in the coming weeks?

What Boris heard: when can I start getting income from my holiday let?

So he went on to assure her that she would be able to open when the time was right etc but it was important not to do it too soon. Completely missing the point, I think.

Then she needed to make her question a lot clearer then! It did not come over that way at all. All she had to ask was how tourism was going to be managed as she had a shielding family member. No need to mention her holiday let etc..... the way she asked the question was not in the slightest weighted towards having a shielded member of the family in any way, shape or form.

She actually wanted reassurance that tourism in Cornwall would be cancelled as she has a seriously vulnerable child

And yet she forgot to mention this child. In any case, it would hardly be reasonable of her to expect all tourism in Cornwall to be 'cancelled' thereby destroying the livelihoods of many many small businesses in the county.

She wanted all tourism cancelled because she has a vulnerable child?

My friend in London has a husband with leukaemia, he doesn’t suggest that London ought to close down. They have to manage it as a family.

If Michelle has a holiday let, she doesn’t have to let it out. It seems unrelated to her vulnerable child, who she didn’t mention in her question.

I understand her child being her main concern, which is why it’s odd that she didn’t give that context to her question.

Why didn't she ask if they aee stopping all tourism?

I am not sure how they would even stop it?

Surely her holiday let is irrelevant, her child was relevant.

How long does she want tourism stopped for? What about the many other people who rely on tourism in Cornwall?

That question makes less sense. I take it she is one of the people that would like cornwall cut off from the rest of the country?

I have family, who also have very himenrbale members that live in tourist towns. They know its going to be difficult, but they also don't want to see their friends and neighbours sink.

When has any politician ever answered any question?

If people insist on voting in self serving liars anyway. There are many honest decent politicians, they’re just not voted into power.
