Where is this exit plan we were told would be available in the next few days?

It was everywhere a few days ago that Nicola Sturgeon has outlined an exit plan but it had no details at all, said it would be revealed in the next few days, what was that all about?

Must be just me curious then?

No me too ,
Today is the first day I've thought I'm sick of this shit now . I'm fed up of people saying this will go on for weeks or months etc .
This is not living I've had enough .
You can't keep us in lockdown for months with no exit plan . I've followed the rules but now I'm tired and I feel and look like shit .
What is the point to life if no work , no school and can't see family no point at all .

Shotofvodka · 30/04/2020 13:15

@imsooverthisdrama what do you suggest instead of lockdown?

imsooverthisdrama · 30/04/2020 14:10

I'm not suggesting anything I'm just fed up . I'm allowed to be fed up . I just need something some glimmer of hope that things will get easier .
I know I'm not the only one .

Runningfar · 30/04/2020 14:35

You're not the only one imsooverthisdrama

I'm not living, I'm existing. My children are existing. We need some hope.

Bigfishylittlefishy · 30/04/2020 14:37

We need some hope.

mirrormirroronthewalll · 30/04/2020 14:38

@imsooverthisdrama I feel exactly the same. Really fed up now and would just like to answers as to when restrictions will be lifted. The days are dragging by and feel totally pointless. I had hope when I heard about Scotland exit plan but that was obviously a load of shit as they've not said a thing about it since or actually have any information.

Exit? We’ve only just began with lockdown, think she was thinking far ahead but it’s cruel to talk about it and get peoples hopes up

mirrormirroronthewalll · 30/04/2020 14:45

Yes it was in multiple articles. I don't think 6 weeks in is lockdown just beginning, people are rightly so getting massively fed up now and need some sort of answers sooner rather than later.

Instead of expecting to see a plan look at Germany, Japan, Italy etc. See what they are, are not doing that is successful or not. We'll be doing something similar when we have similar stats!

LastTrainEast · 30/04/2020 14:58

The government have to watch the figures and then pick a moment and a set of restrictions to lighten. There is no manual for this and their choices might cause a huge second wave.

It will be an educated guess and they don't have much control over the people they are trying to save.

Remember we're also waiting on a vaccine. If that was confirmed that would make a big difference.

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 30/04/2020 15:01

Look also at other countries to see what a lockdown means, ours is not a lockdown

Runningfar · 30/04/2020 15:07

Look also at other countries to see what a lockdown means, ours is not a lockdown

What exactly do you mean by that?

CuriousaboutSamphire · 30/04/2020 15:15

A 60% fall in transport use, God knows the % of businesses closed or on short hours, the majority of the not working population staying indoors for the vast majority of the time, desperately avoiding contact when out...

No. Nothing even vaguely approaching a curtailment of movement, let alone a lockdown!

Sometimes I want to take a sound bite post and shake it til it squeaks.

Brownie points for anyone who recognises the literary allusion.

notalwaysalondoner · 30/04/2020 15:18

My South African colleague highlighted their exit plan the other day - it’s so much clearer and will get public support so much more than our approach of continuing lockdown with reviews every three weeks and no communication of plans. They have five lockdown stages, the exit plan explicitly states (a) what each stage will involve (b) the criteria that will be used to assess it’s time to move from one stage to another (c) names the responsible ministers who have to agree to move to a different stage (d) sets dates out for reviews

Even though they’ve even banned the sale of alcohol and cigarettes out there people are apparently largely compliant because they feel they understand what’s happening and that it is logical and there is a clear process to assess exit.

Here, unless we have a plan, I think people will just stop complying.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 30/04/2020 15:24

Whilst I am also hating this and fucking haaaaattttteee Johnson and this useless government I wouldn’t want to be in charge of deciding how and when it ends.... people will die and a lot of people will die if this is misjudged. This isn’t being done to us as a punishment.

cryinglightning · 30/04/2020 15:40

I'm with you OP. It is cruel to be in lockdown with no information about how it will be eased. I understand they have no idea of timescale and am not expecting that but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to be told, for example, that when we get less than x number of cases per day for two weeks then small groups of 5 who don't live together will be able to meet.

People are becoming impatient with the lockdown which is fair enough when it feels there is no hope. I can't help but feel there would be much more compliance if indications were given of how it would be eased.

Blondiney · 30/04/2020 16:09

A sliver of light at the end of the tunnel would be very welcome at this point.

RainMustFall · 30/04/2020 16:29

You appear to believe that the Government are sat twiddling their thumbs and playing eenie meanie miney mo to decide on policy whereas the fact is that they rely on the Chief Medical and Science Officers for their advice,

If you think you know better I suggest you contact the Government and offer your vast expertise, in whatever field it may be.

HelloItsmeAgain1 · 30/04/2020 16:33

I'd rather this lockdown continue for another month then for everyone to go back to normal and have another lockdown in a few months. A lot of businesses wouldnt cope.

I feel sorry for thise struggling though.

DarylDixonsHair · 30/04/2020 16:34

We've had a very soft lockdown so will definitely have a longer one. In Greece you cannot go anywhere without a paper to say why and large fines have been handed out to people not following the rules. China practically sealed people in their homes and left them to die. Here we are out and about, the local chippy is open, garden centres, etc.

helpfulperson · 30/04/2020 16:40

What Nicola Sturgeon said she would produce and did was a 'Framework for Decision Making' not an Exit Plan. It was never going to have any sort of detail in it. It's purpose is to lay out the considerations that we used when they plan an exit.

RedAzalea · 30/04/2020 18:03

I’m actually still waiting for the lockdown!!

Not much has changed in my household at all! Work as usual etc

blacksax · 30/04/2020 18:40

It's going to be available in the next few days. Once they've thought of it.

Coronaquery · 30/04/2020 18:44

I just want to know what the overall plan is- are we going with herd immunity but had lockdown to stop NHS being overwhelmed or are we aiming for low enough numbers to track and trace?
