Where is this exit plan we were told would be available in the next few days?

It was everywhere a few days ago that Nicola Sturgeon has outlined an exit plan but it had no details at all, said it would be revealed in the next few days, what was that all about?

^*I’m actually still waiting for the lockdown!!

Not much has changed in my household at all! Work as usual etc*^

I can not understand posts like this. Did you always live a boring miserable life before then?

CraftyGin · 30/04/2020 18:59

Anyone with any common sense can make up their own exit plan.

Shops and businesses opening where they can practise 2m isolation...

frasersmummy · 30/04/2020 19:13

I am annoyed at nicola sturgeon.. She was talking about bubbles of people you could meet
John swinney was looking at school options

Now couple of days later.. No talk of either.. Nothing will change for weeks

So I think at next review no change for another 3 weeks by which time we will all be slightly mad

mirrormirroronthewalll · 30/04/2020 19:32

@runningfar well said! I'm really bored now of this week aren't even in lockdown really shit.

@frasersmummy I feel the same, building our hopes up and then nothing, I'm just feeling a bit pissed off with it all.

But our lockdown is very soft compared to some countries, yes we are in lockdown but we have more freedom than some countries. Can't imagine people here being happy to accept being locked in your own home by the authorities with seals on the door so they know whether you have tried to get out or not. Children not being allowed outside at all.

imsooverthisdrama · 30/04/2020 20:01

@PrimeraVez no need Hmm

Appuskidu · 30/04/2020 20:05

The thing is, if they announce today that in 2 weeks you’ll be able to go to other people’s houses and meet in the park-everyone would be doing in immediately.

PrimeraVez · 30/04/2020 20:07

For....? I am growing increasingly irritated by people who a) seem to think the government should have all the answers and b) keep bleating that they can’t possibly continue living like this.

Yes, it’s shit. It’s really, really shit.

People have died, and are continuing to die. People are losing their jobs. The global economy is crumbling. This will take years to recover from in every sense of the word.

But guess what. This is a first for everyone. And that includes governments and medical professionals. We are trying to do the very best that we can.

Yes of course it’s natural to have a whinge and a whine. But stop looking for someone to come along and make it all better for you. Because that won’t happen.

Bimbleboo · 30/04/2020 20:11

Do the people whingeing about Sturgeon and simultaneously whingeing about Westminster not understand how ridiculous that is.
Which is it that you want? You want someone to give you an idea of what life post lockdown could look like, how that process MIGHT be rolled out, and keep you informed of the ideas they are throwing around (ala Surgeon)
Or you want them to keep quiet about it until it’s an absolute certainty with concrete planning in place so that it’s not all just ‘false hope’ and empty words that don’t come to fruition or solid plans.

I’m not sure you can whine about both. Not at the same time. Two approaches and there’s people literally moaning about BOTH.

When they talked about potentially having to lockdown, people rushed to congregate in parks and pubs. I’m not sure I blame them for not trusting the British public to hear what might happen next. I imagine at the first mention of the fact lockdown might be loosened off a bit in coming weeks, many people will take that as licence to just sack it in and do what they like.

It’s also getting really old seeing people be so petulant about lockdown as though we are children being grounded. This isn’t JUST something the government are imposing on you on whim. If Big Bojo stood on his podium tomorrow and said, ‘right you can all go out now, and pop your kids back to school on Monday guys’ it wouldn’t mean the situation was over and there was no more risk or danger. It would just mean they’d stopped bothering with any measures to lower infection rates for the time being.

I get that lockdown is hugely impacting people. But I don’t get the tantrums at the government for it. Or the calls for it to hurry up and end. The shitty situation is the virus. The one we have no immunity to, no vaccine for and no treatment that works. The one that’s killing off half of the people who catch it badly enough to be hospitalised.

If it wasn’t for the fact they’d spread it around the vulnerable I would think it was actually an idea to just let those moaning about lockdown crack on and go out and take their chances with it since they seem to think that’s such a better idea.

Bimbleboo · 30/04/2020 20:11

@PrimeraVez exactly this.

mirrormirroronthewalll · 30/04/2020 20:57

@frasersmummy I'm so sorry to hear about your son, I couldn't imagine how hard that must of been for youThanks people like this are just itching for a reaction and get a thrill out of being dicks. It says so much about how sad and miserable they must be, I literally don't have the energy to engage with them.

Thanks to everyone who's managing to hold their tongue and post within our TGs. We know this is such a tough time for everyone but we will need to remove this thread if we have to continue removing posts.

A plea for kindness and calm from HQ please

frasersmummy · 30/04/2020 21:07

@mirrormirroronthewalll. Thank you... Its irrelevant to this situation.. So don't want to derai the thread so I asked for my post to be removed

Runningfar · 30/04/2020 21:24

If we can't look to the government for some answers then who can we look to? That's not to say they will know everything or be able to please everyone.

I think I'd just like a bit of hope. A bit of clarity as to how to hongs might look in the coming weeks/months. We can guess, but having a few things laid out might encourage people to keep going.

But it's clear by some posters that the lockdown isn't bothering or affecting some people and some are even enjoying it.

Kitchendoctor · 30/04/2020 21:32

Someone asked what was meant by another comment saying we haven’t even had a proper lockdown. Well we haven’t.

Look at other countries where people haven’t been allowed out AT ALL.
Other countries that have closed parks where ours have remained open.
Other countries where schools have closed COMPLETELY.
Here, you can still order pretty much anything you want for home delivery.

IMO, we’ve had a fairly relaxed lockdown.

itsgettingweird · 30/04/2020 21:35

And here we have it.

The English were furious our government did t release a plan at the same time.

They argued it would get people's hopes up and maybe they'd start doing some it early and were told to start treating people like adults.

But now the Scottish plan has been announced and some clue given to its content everyone is annoyed its not being out into place straightaway.

This is awful. It's true we are existing. But we are alive and living. And it won't be forever.

Kitchendoctor · 30/04/2020 21:35

Sorry was responding to this:

Look also at other countries to see what a lockdown means, ours is not a lockdown

What exactly do you mean by that?

mirrormirroronthewalll · 30/04/2020 21:37

@Runningfar I also think it would encourage me to keep me going if we knew how much longer this was going to go on for, I think it would encourage a lot of other people aswell rather than the other way round as some people seem to think. Agree that some posters seem not to be bothered or even enjoying this situation, they mustn't have many but for a lot of people they are massively worrying and struggling to pay there bills and risk losing their jobs. It's such a worrying time.

I'm really grateful that I'm still working and being paid but my OH is off unpaid and we have just very recently bought a house which is a huge struggle and worry without his income and not knowing if and when he will be able to return to work. I understand many are in the a similar situation before anyone jumps down my throat.
