Where is this exit plan we were told would be available in the next few days?

It was everywhere a few days ago that Nicola Sturgeon has outlined an exit plan but it had no details at all, said it would be revealed in the next few days, what was that all about?

But running they've made it clear how things will look in weeks to months and even the next 12-18 months.

It was clear when they locked down (which we haven't compared to the eu countries we are comparing our death rates too) it would be a 3 month legion minimum by the financial package and shielding group. They keep saying this won't end until a worldwide programme of vaccination and some form of social distancing will need to apply. They've said they are looking at how to open schools and keep R0 down. They have made it clear which businesses can run and advice on how. They've actually allowed more of our economy to run than our neighbours over the water.
But they can't have any facts and concrete ideas until they have the data. They need first to decide how and which data to use to to decide what to open first. They are collecting that and increased testing will give a clearer idea of this.
Personally I think the massive decrease in public transport use in London alongside it being a huge transport network and having the fastest rise and decline in cases must tell us something.

What PrimeraVez said!

Some people seem to think that there is some miracle that the governments are holding back and will wheel out at some point. There is no magic wand here. There is a balance of how many people will die vs how much boredom, suffering, hardship etc everyone has to put up with.
People complaining about being bored - tough - suck it up. Your boredom is not worth a single death.
However, there is real hardship and suffering when people can't afford to eat. It's easier to provide food to these people than it is to protect vulnerable people from a potentially fatal disease.

If we open up too soon, more people will die. You've got to really believe that your reasons to go out are important enough to make that justifiable.

There were over 6000 new infections today. It's not ending anytime soon.

tempnamechange98765 · 30/04/2020 22:13

I'm with you OP and I'm totally fed up too. Everyone I know is and people will start their own small rebellions eg "I've been isolating for weeks on end, my friend/family member has been too, so I will see them". This will happen across the board. I hope a "social bubble" system at least is allowed. My DC are 4 and 1 and this is so hard especially on my 4 year old.

I know it's so hard to give any indication but there does need to be, to give people something to aim for.

It’s been mislaid next to the extra testing kits.

itsgettingweird · 30/04/2020 22:46

We have to take increased positives with a pinch of salt. The testing availability is wider. All these mild symptomatic keyworkers existed the whole way through. They just weren't tested.
The increased easing will inform other things with regards releasing lockdown measures though.

@frasersmummy I didn’t see your removed post but I’m sorry for how I spoke to you last night.

I stand by my comments that there is no magic wand and I remain frustrated by people’s reaction to the situation but I’m sorry for being a dick in how I responded to you.

twinnywinny14 · 01/05/2020 03:21

People are wanting a specific date for this to be over but that’s impossible. Let’s face it if they said the lockdown can be released in this way and on this date then people would do it before then as ‘we’re nearly there now anyway ‘

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/05/2020 09:59

It’s been mislaid next to the extra testing kits. ??

Just over 81,000 people were tested yesterday! There were enough to do more had people and tests been in the same place at the same time!

Can we stop with the old news?

fascinated · 01/05/2020 10:40

Hi. Sorry. Was being flippant. I sometimes forget real people are reading this and how sensitive the situation is... was having a bad day yesterday and took the opportunity for a not very funny joke.

Hopefully the testing system becomes a well oiled machine soon that can really help. I think it is key.

FWIW I agree that it is frustrating to not be told plans for exit, but I can see the point that people will just start doing whatever is in the plan immediately if they reveal them. It’s a catch 22. Unfortunately there are enough chancers and CFs in the population that they do need to treat us a bit like children...

CuriousaboutSamphire · 01/05/2020 11:03

@fascinated No problem, we all have days like that! I hope today is better for you!

fascinated · 01/05/2020 11:16

Thanks, @curious.

frasersmummy · 01/05/2020 16:19

@primeravez apology accepted.. We all say things in frustration that we wish we hadn't
