Wiping Down Shopping

This might have already been covered but without trawling through I just thought I’d ask anyway.

So...when you get your shopping home (or delivered) are you all cleaning every single item? If so, what are you using to clean with? Would an antibacterial wipe be suffice or does it need to be bleach? I am wiping things over with antibacterial wipe but a bit half heartedly tbh. It’s quite a daunting task having to wipe every single item before putting it away in the fridge/freezer/cupboard.
Just wondered how everyone else is tackling this.

Nope. Unless people in the house are shielded, I think that this way madness lies. And putting bleach near food is not a sensible idea

Btw, anti bac wipes won't work on a virus.

All the anti bac wipes I have list several viruses they are effective against. They hair don't add anti viral in to the title

No. I ditch the outer packaging and am careful to wash hands frequently when preparing food.

Bleaching fruit and veg is dangerous.

If you are washing things soap and water is enough. All these chemicals won't be doing you any favours either. I absolutely think this is going to make so many people germ phobic to the detriment that they won't ever expose themselves to bacteria improving their immunity.

In 6 months if you are back to your normal routine will you have time for this? ( I exclude those very vulnerable I get the reasoning) do you take similar pro caution when Norovirus is ripping through schools or communities every year?

I've worked in the NHS for 15 years and I've been exposed to flu, RSV, meningitis, TB, norovirus and more. Good hygiene and a good immune system has seen me through these without washing everything in bleach that I may touch.
