Gosh he is struggling. Forgot the name of one of the advisers.

At least he isn't spouting dangerous nonsense like Trump is doing.

Oh dear, that's a pretty low low low bar to measure Hancock by!

Mittens030869 · 24/04/2020 13:06

Yes it's would be low bar, I'm definitely not praising him. I hadn't been talking about Hancock, because I thought I was on the thread about Johnson. I agree with all the comments about Hancock, he's been completely useless sadly and he sounds at breaking point as well.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/04/2020 18:41

I wonder if Boris is going to reappear a thin and frail shadow of his former self?

I will put money on hims still being a fat, smug bastard.

CendrillonSings · 26/04/2020 19:16

I will put money on hims still being a fat, smug bastard.

And still your Prime Minister, with a huge majority.

How’s that for Schadenfreude personified? Wink

vera99 · 26/04/2020 19:28

@CendrillonSings let's hope he develops a work ethic and asks the question how Germany managed to do so well and we're the dirty man of Europe. But I suspect whatever he does and whatever happens, that will just be the way it is and we lefty losers just need to suck it up.

CendrillonSings · 26/04/2020 19:55

God damn it, I knew we were going to agree on something one day! Wine

pontypridd · 26/04/2020 19:59

You’ve said that before Cendrillon. Exactly the same words. It’s kind of eery. Is a bot a machine that churns repetitive responses out again and again? Are you one of those?

CendrillonSings · 26/04/2020 20:03

Oddly enough, no. Though I’m afraid I’ve found your own witterings too tedious to notice whether or not they’ve been repeated Wink

Mittens030869 · 26/04/2020 20:26

@CendrillonSings

And still your Prime Minister, with a huge majority.

I wouldn't crow about that too much if I were you. However you look at it, his party has presided over what will manifestly be the highest COVID-19 death toll in Europe. The only reason that isn't already officially the case is that the official UK death toll doesn't include care home and community deaths.

The left leaning parties can't be blamed; as you yourself have been at pains to remind us, Boris Johnson has a huge majority in Parliament, therefore his party is to blame for not taking action soon enough to stop this catastrophic death toll from happening.

Mittens030869 · 26/04/2020 20:28

Unfortunately, bold fail. Blush

vera99 · 26/04/2020 20:32

Corbyn would have deferred to his officials, SAGE and COBRA put Brexit on hold and not be anymore socialist in his propping up the economy with vast amounts of manufactured cash. Secondly, he is as fit as a fiddle (vegan that he is) so would probably be at the helm for the duration. So for all these at least it's not Corbyn stop talking rubbish he certainly wouldn't have been worse than Johnson. Anyway, moot point we are where we are.

Mittens030869 · 26/04/2020 20:35

I'm aware that the government couldn't have anticipated how bad the death toll was going to be, but they were warned. They chose to pursue a policy of 'herd immunity' and didn't take action soon enough to institute the lockdown.

vera99 · 26/04/2020 20:46

I see Cendrillon as a Margot (Penelope Keith) basically good hearted but misguided in her home county twin set and pearl life. But probably a bit Abigail's Party as well...

Alsohuman · 26/04/2020 20:48

I think she’s Allison Pearson although even she’s criticising her beloved Boris these days.

jasjas1973 · 26/04/2020 20:57

No time for Cend's he/she is easy to back into a corner and then just changes the subject .... Clav is more interesting once she gets past her cut paste phase.
Sure i've a bet of a bottle of wine with her but can't remember.....

UK accounts for 10% of all CV "official" worldwide deaths.... quite an achievement, even allowing for 9 years of austerity and the failure to learn from Op Cygnus...
Let hope the Govt is forced to release its findings by court action.

vera99 · 26/04/2020 21:31

Boris needs to get his roots bleached or we might think he's a fake.
