A friend forwarded me this video -

www.facebook.com/barnsleychronicleonline/videos/158413535522368/

Far too many people all congregated together, some hugging and kissing. NHS staff outside in their uniforms and someone in their wisdom invited the local council and the local council housing team up to be clapped too!!!

Just WTAF!

How bizarre!! The nhs staff I understand, it’s not like they can keep social distance at work but the council workers, why would they put themselves in such a situation?!

Wired4sound · 16/04/2020 22:32

I’m honestly gobsmacked, it’s a total social media circus!

MrsRaab · 17/04/2020 01:01

I thought the same seeing this video from Poole hospital!! What the fuck!!

Clapping outside hospitals has got to stop
Boredofthisstagenow · 17/04/2020 01:04

Crazy. Why?! Everyone seems to have lost their minds in these videos. Enough of that now, I agree.

HeIenaDove · 17/04/2020 01:04

What is the fucking point of clapping for the NHS while making more work for them at the same time?

TheoriginalLEM · 17/04/2020 01:06

Wtaf!!!

ArriettyJones · 17/04/2020 01:09

Oh FGS.

Daffodil55 · 17/04/2020 01:27

Defeating the object entirely but all well meant. I guess it just shows so many people are still not quite "getting it" and still finding it so alien to

Not be Physically Close to Anyone not in their Household. Hmm

Headlesschic · 17/04/2020 01:31

This video has freaked me out a bit tbh

HeIenaDove · 17/04/2020 03:07

Westminster Bridge now trending on Twitter TV news outlets cant fail to notice this surely.

PumpkinP · 17/04/2020 03:37

It's not just th is, the people outside of their houses in videos I've seen are literally right next to each other. Their doors are not 2m apart . I think the whole thing needs to stop

MummyPop00 · 17/04/2020 05:43

They were all over the front of our local hospital too.

Wonder if they would have carried on clapping had an emergency coronary turned up at A&E beeping to get through?

Bowerbird5 · 17/04/2020 05:47

I went inside the first week because my neighbours were standing with their friends on their entrance. Crackers!

BovaryX · 17/04/2020 06:11

So strange. This clapping thing is morphing into something very bizarre.

MrsRaab · 17/04/2020 06:23

Still trending in twitter. A doctor at St Thomas's hospital retweeted the video thanking everyone for coming out which went down like a lead balloon Hmm

Bluesheep8 · 17/04/2020 06:30

Wrong on so many levels.
Social distancing?
Staying at home?
Essential travel only?

Pathetic. Hmm

Bluesheep8 · 17/04/2020 06:32

Because it's part of a test to see how obedient we are. How was it EVER helping the NHS?
Help them by staying at home and going out for specific reasons, as little as possible. Simple.

JudyCoolibar · 17/04/2020 06:34

The bizarre thing about the Barnsley one is that hospital staff seem to be actively encouraging people to gather, given the screen and all the ambulances with blue lights flashing. When we're constantly seeing videos of HCPs begging people to stay at home, it's incomprehensible.

Bluesheep8 · 17/04/2020 06:35

And will the doctor thank everyone for coming out when he and his colleagues have to treat some of them?

ukgift2016 · 17/04/2020 06:35

Same down here in East Sussex. We also had 15 police cars lined up. They were all lined up clapping near each other.

Why aren't the police working? Beggars belief.

Egghead68 · 17/04/2020 06:36

They are nuts.

WoeIsMee · 17/04/2020 06:40
