Is your house inexplicably cleaner now?

We have been at home all day every day and haven't had our usual 4 hours of cleaning each week - but I'd say our house is definitely cleaner and tidied than before

We're both still working full time, albeit from home, and we have fairly full on jobs so putting in our full hours. I would say my working hours are slightly longer as I don't need to rush to pick up DD sp tend to work a bit later.

Is anyone else noticing this?

I try to keep on top of things but things like the dust just accumulate...

Homeschooling a 5 yo around trying not to developmentally stunt 4 month old twins.

Dear god no. We're normally all out 5 days a week so it doesn't get that messy except at weekends. No cleaners and 2 adults plus toddler here all day every day = bomb site

Mine is, weirdly. Think it is because we’re here allllll the time, so there’s no escaping the mess and dirt; before I could leave it behind and go to work, now I just have to deal with it.

Mine is spotless.😇 I’m usually out and don’t prioritise cleaning. Now I’m in I’m keeping busy by cleaning things really really thoroughly. I put on a podcast and work away. I’m enjoying it. Gardens looking good too.
I did half the utility room today.

There are four adults in the house so no kids to clean up after.

Ours is awful! In and out of the garden in the nice weather, the kitchen and main living area are trashed! Pre schooler is eating crumbly snacks all over the place.

We usually have a cleaner once a week. I did it myself today, I cried! It's a shit job and if just felt like a real consequence of what was happening. Very privileged I know, but I was totally fed up of it and it caused today's meltdown (I tend to have one a day about a changing topic!!!).

I cleaned windows today quite frankly mine house starting to look like a show home I find it oddly therapeutic but am a bit concerned tbh even my dh is tidying up after himself and doing all sorts of things he'd not normally do without me asking. I think it might be trying to get some sort of control.

No my house is usually spotless because it's just me and DS here all day. I keep on top of it throughout the day and do a "big clean" in the morning. Now there's 4 of us here 24/7 there's a LOT more mess and my DD and DH are happier to leave the washing up to build up rather than do it as they go etc. It's not bad, but it's definitely not as good as usual. I refuse to constantly clean up after DD and DH when they're both capable of cleaning up after themselves

No. Mine is so depressingly disgusting. And I just can't get a chance to get started with any of it. Two toddlers, husband is at work all day and I'm supposed to be working from home. It's having the toddlers in house 24 hours a day though that's making the biggest difference. All their toys are out, sand is in and out from the garden, and grass. Snacks. Three meals every day. Cooking is messier because it's not planned just using up what we've got.. it's everything!

Nope it’s messy. We are used to getting out most days. The more we are at home, the messier is seems to get!

I do home educate so am used to being home, but we go out most days, kids all do multiple clubs, church, friends, parks, etc. At home we are playing more, gardening more, more arts and crafts, more cooking, more eating at home, etc.

No. Life is far, far, far too short to spend cleaning whatever the circumstances. I was in the throes of hiring a cleaner when lockdown came. She will have her work cut out when she finally starts.

Definitely not. DH is untidy and disorganised at the best of times and is now decorating and doing DIY. The kids have turned slightly feral digging in the mud pit that is our garden and every toy is out and scattered across their bedroom floors. I am still working full time on the frontline and have no energy to clean up after them all.

Mine is going through phases of spotless and looking like a Tornado has come through it single mum to 11 week old DS so some days having 5mins to shower is an accomplishment and other days he sleeps loads and i get all the cleaning done and then some
