@Porcupineinwaiting no I’m not on antibiotics. I’m going to call the GP I think . I’ve barely any cough and it’s not productive.. but I’ve woken this morning with a roaring temperature again . My sinuses have been quite sore and congested feeling and yesterday I was blowing lots of blood out . Day 25 and I’m terrified it’s my DDS birthday in just over a week and DS birthday on Sunday ..

oralengineer · 07/04/2020 09:50

Pins and needles suggest that you may be experiencing panic attack.

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 09:58

Morning guys. I’ve taken the dip that you all warned me about. Says 13 and 14 were pretty good. Today I can barely stand up. Tingling sensation in my back and just complete weakness in my legs. They are so heavy and tingly, like all my nerve endings are shot. I have managed to shuffle round the garden to get some sun on my face but im scared again. I can feel the panic rising and im trying to keep a lid on it. Sitting here thinking do I need to be in hospital for neurologicL tests compared to no way do I want to be in a hospital alone.

Ive muted all my group chats on whatsapp. I dont wanna hear any news or accidental snippets of the outside. But also I’ve been left feeling like Im not very worthy of my life. Friends have scoffed me, they think Im lacking in positivity and so just not getting better to their annoyance. And lots of comments about my life like how I try too hard at trying to be a “supermum”. I stopped work to renovate our house and so now the house is almost done I have a life that I love, a bit outdated and old fashioned etc where Im cooking, cleaning, a bit of volunteering and I studied for a degree in education. But I’m left feeling scorned over my life, and when you’ve got as low and as desperate as we all have. Im sat not being able to feel my legs and no-one really to turn to.

Its a bad day.

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 09:59

@mumlurker yes in my legs to the point that I cant stand up for prolonged periods. I wasnt panicking until it happened. Woke up where I just cant feel my legs properly.

stayathomegardener · 07/04/2020 10:05

Thedrswife48 you can do this, you have done it before.
Back to resting, I'm day 26ish and not dead yet! Despite hideous temperatures and fatigue.

Detach from all news and crap friends.

Maybe ask GP for melatonin for sleep, it's been brilliant.

Look at vitamin c and iodine video I posted early in the thread that regime is getting much credence from China and New York.

I needed that as days 14-20ish were very up and down and breathless.

Wishing you well Thanks

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 10:14

I cut off from anything that would set my mind racing around then too it feels awful. I haven’t had any issues with my legs but recall another person on one of the older threads had. I hope this phase passes quickly for you!

mumlurker · 07/04/2020 10:19

@TheDrsWife46

Yes, for me the pins and needles causes anxiety rather than the other way around!

Hope you're managing to stay calm. Just to say I am feeling a lot better physically on day 24 here but the anxiety can be overwhelming. With the ups and downs - I just try to focus on knowing that the 'ups' come eventually. You were feeling better yesterday and you will again!

simplekindoflife · 07/04/2020 10:20

Sorry to hear that @TheDrsWife46. But this is just a blip, a quick temporary set back. Just keep your head down, rest and ride it out. Today is a write off, embrace it and listen to your body. Soon the good days will overtake the bad.

We'll all be having a glass of wine in a few weeks and this will be just a bad memory. Hang in there! Thanks

simplekindoflife · 07/04/2020 10:20

@mumlurker yep pins and needles on and off. Cold hands too.

onlinelinda · 07/04/2020 10:21

thedrswife this too shall pass. Remember that.

I think we're all getting to a stage where we are worn out with how long it's going on for. You WILL be ok. There is nothing wrong with the life you have chosen. Nobody's life choices are better than anothers-they are our own choices, personal to our unique needed, desires , and our personal situations.

What I've been experiencing, which is also frustrating, is a sort of lack of others' trust over my lingering symptoms. Eg "but I thought it only lasted 7 days! (or 14, depending on what they've read). Or, "but you don't have a temperature!" You just have to let it wash over you-they are not you, or in your body. My GP practice has been the only opinion round here that I've relied on, or here.

simplekindoflife · 07/04/2020 10:23

@EMichel102 I wish they'd publicise the fact that this virus can last more than 7 days. At least people would be more prepared mentally.

Bornlazy · 07/04/2020 10:23

@TheDrsWife46 are you sleeping on your front? I’m wondering if that’s causing a bit of pressure in your spine. Do you normally suffer from back pain at all. Are you managing to pass urine normally with normal sensation?

musicposy · 07/04/2020 10:27

Day 29 here.

Did not sleep well. Feel shit, breathless, chest pain and yawning again, though my oxygen is completely fine now which is weird. Wonder if my electrolytes etc are all out - I’ve been drinking lots of fluids otherwise I’m thirsty and my pee is strong and green and I’m getting kidney pain to boot. Poop is green too! Would normally see GP for all this and suspect I possibly need blood tests, chest x ray etc but it isn’t going to happen in current climate.

Have already cried all over DH this morning. Having extremely dark moments of “if this is my life from now on what’s the point”. So depressed and I think anxiety is making it worse as the Boris news definitely set me back, weirdly.

Once I’m past the first crappy hour of the day though, I think I pick up a little. I know I will slump again in the afternoon but I’m more prepared for it now.

Hi to fellow sufferers. Those heading into week 5 like me, keep updating me! It really helps me feel less alone.

AnythingPecan · 07/04/2020 10:31

@musicposy

OMG I could have so written your post. Resonates with me although I'm 'only' on day 22.

Just spoke to my GP. Very helpful.
He's prescribed antibiotics as he feels this could be lingering because of a secondary bacterial infection. Let's see. Not holding my breath (no pun intended).

He also performed a respiration rate test on me. Could see I was a bit breathless. Apparently normal range is up to 20 breaths per minute. Mine was more like 26 but probably because I'm anxious since Boris news last night.

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 10:33

I am day 29 too, my asthma is under control so breathing is a little easier though there seems to be a minor underlying twinge in my lungs. I had about 4hrs sleep in the end I have kept trying but been disturbed. My chest still feels a but uncomfortable but I am hip it will pass. Yesterday was dreadful for us all. My OH is very hoarse and croaky today. My son says he’s ok for now and my daughter is still asleep.

Crayfishforyou · 07/04/2020 10:33

Day 8ish
I feel much better today, it may not last but its giving some much needed respite.
No temp now for 24 hours. I can breathe a bit easier today too. Last night got tricky, and I got panicky.
I've still got a slight cough and a slightly dodgy tummy.
I also woke in the night to acute lower back pain, which has eased.
I am taking it very very easy, I'm aware this could all crumble into dust. Sad

pinkoneblueone · 07/04/2020 10:34

*hoping it will pass

TheDrsWife46 · 07/04/2020 10:34

@Bornlazy sleeping normally, on my side really. Ive been taking Kalms Nighttime and they’ve helped hugely. Dont have any back issues at all. Feeling so FUCKING fed up at not being normal. I keep wondering is it in my head. Have I watched so much news that ive developed some psychosomatic illness? Because im usually so so well, im a really crazy active person and no anxiety etc and this has reduced me to a shell in chair. I dont recognise myself and so then Im like “belt up! Its all in your head” but I just cant get up.

Im sick to bloody death of people telling me to call the GP. It just goes to show how many people are sat on lockdown not realising that the GP just isnt interested in your minor symptoms unless its breathing difficulties. Do people not think ive called the bloody GP a ton of times.

@stayathomegardener I watched that video last week and actually ordered the vitamin C on the back of it. It hasn't arrived yet and no local shops have any in stock. God honestly its getting to the point where im hinging on

  1. getting a test
  2. being able to book a normal doctors appointment with that test to say what damage is there? Because if I havent had Covid ive had something else pretty shit.
  • apologies for any profanity.

Paddlinglikehell · 07/04/2020 10:39

Day 21. Still not right, very dizzy and feel rough towards the afternoon. My cough is slightly better, I can speak a few words now without coughing like a mad thing and it’s become a little productive on occasions for the first time, is this normal?

A little chest pain, but more like a tight indigestion feel (but it isn’t).

Spacecadetagain · 07/04/2020 10:46

Morning everyone . My anxiety is in overdrive due to my temperature. Gp rang back quickly and said she thinks I have a sinus infection as My sinuses are raw and congested feeling and I’m blowing out lumps of blood. She also thinks I may be suffering a bit of nicotine withdrawel as I literally went cold turkey as she said you can feel quite rotten during the first month . I’ve just done the breathing exercises again as I’ve got upper back pain which is worrying.. plus U feel unwell and groggy .. I moved a bit of phlegm but it was all clear and tbh I’m surprised I haven’t been coughing up all kinds of crap since I stopped smoking . The pain Id had for ages on the left side of my ribs has definitely moved round to my right though

Bornlazy · 07/04/2020 10:46

@TheDrsWife46 it’s horrible to feel so alone. My family don’t believe for a minute that I’ve had it. My mother is worried sick about me going back to work (nurse) in case I catch it. It’s extremely frustrating and hurtful when people minimise very real and frightening symptoms but in general I try to rise above it keeping everything crossed for a positive antibodies test at some point so I can remind them of how shit they made me feel 😉

ofwarren · 07/04/2020 10:48

@spacecadetagain
Have they ordered you some antibiotics?
What's your temperature this morning?

Spacecadetagain · 07/04/2020 10:54

@ofwarren it was 38 when I woke up but has dropped to 37.7 now .. I’ve got bad back pain on my right which feels like an infection ... She’s sending a prescription for doxycycline over to my chemist.. I’ll just need to check with the pharmacist that is ok as I’m on blood thinners
@TheDrsWife46 Try not to panic .. I dipped horribly on those days too .. it was that which scared me into stopping smoking
I feel breathless but I don’t know how much of that is panic . I felt very tired yesterday but chest not to bad . My DS said to me that I was panicking because my temperature is up

ofwarren · 07/04/2020 10:54

@Crayfishforyou
I started to get much better at that point too and I'm now day 16 and not got any worse. Fingers crossed it's the same for you.
I'm still not "normal" but it's manageable.

Looneytune253 · 07/04/2020 11:04

So glad I found this thread. I've had it but only for a few days thankfully. Dh is still suffering and he's on day 13. Seen a couple of random symptoms on here that he has that has set my mind at rest. It's stomach discomfort for him now with bloating, wind and indigestion. Temp still spiking every evening but breathing ok.
