Just jumping on to say Day 24 here and I seem to have relapsed . I’m be been feeling very tired last couple of days but lungs and breathing were much better .. however today woke up feeling really chesty and have not felt well today . My temperature has now hit 38.5 so I’m starting to feel really panicked that I’m taking a turn for the worse

ofwarren · 06/04/2020 22:17

@Spacecadetagain do you have any phlegm?
Ring your GP tomorrow to get antibiotics in case of secondary infection.

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 22:18

Oh no @Spacecadetagain did you overdo it yesterday at all?
Might be the simple explanation.

It's hard to realise when you are doing too much if you are used to doing lots normally and seem to be doing so little now.

Storyofcats · 06/04/2020 22:21

@Spacecadetagain I'm still struggling on day 31, still v breathless, fatigued, chest pain etc,its all really horrible but I really think if I was going to become critically unwell it would have happened a good while ago now. I think ups and downs are v normal part of recovery so if you've been having some better days that's a good sign, just try and make sure you rest a lot.

tanyauk · 06/04/2020 22:27

Yes, anxiety triggers the bad symptoms, heart racing, chills and burning. No news worked for me until I read about Boris. I fell ill at the same time when he did.
Nausea is the new symptom for me after day 10.
Can I ask someone how they managed this illness with period? I think I am due soon and I am wondering if period makes this worse?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 06/04/2020 22:32

Spacecadet, maybe worth giving 111 a call?

AnythingPecan · 06/04/2020 22:33

@tanyauk I'm on my monthlies (day 4) and as long as you remember what you're normally like symptoms wise you should be able to distinguish. I'm a bit more tired since but I know that's down to period. Backaches probably due to period too. Just take it extra easy when you're on and you should be fine.

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 22:34

@ofwarren no phlegm at all but chest feels very congested
@stayathomegardener I tidied the kitchen up a bit and hoovered the living room .. is it possible I’ve triggered my relapse ?

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 22:36

I’ve taken two lots of paracetamol and it’s not touching my temperature.. I feel like I have phlegm on my chest though

AnythingPecan · 06/04/2020 22:39

Is anybody else super anxious about the side effects of this virus and how you'll return to your normally crazy life in months to come if you're still feeling this crappy?

Wacadu · 06/04/2020 22:40

Another trip to the Corona hub this afternoon, at their request. They're not going to admit me yet but want my DH to closely monitor me over the next 48 hours. They gave me antibiotics for any secondary infections. I'm on Day 13 and the dizziness today has been unreal. I've had to crawl upstairs.

WanderingLost167 · 06/04/2020 22:52

Day 17 and I'm still tired, but went out for a bike ride yesterday and felt a bit breathless but OK.

Don't have flu like symptoms anymore, just tired really.

Interesting to read the symptoms list for moderate symptoms and low mood is reported. I felt pretty damn low

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 22:52

@Spacecadetagain I can happily diagnose you after 17 ish year of cfs yes you've just over done it. 😁
Especially the hoovering that's remarkably physical when you are not well.

Seriously though try a couple of really easy days and see if it improves, it's what I've been trying to do. Could be wrong but I do think it's a pattern.

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 22:55

@Spacecadetagain you could try the Queens breathing exercises and then steam lungs over a bowl?
Maybe 111 if that doesn't give any relief.

What's your oxygen measuring?

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 22:57

@stayathomegardener would that cause a temperature spike too ? My breathing seemed to be improving at the end of the week but over the weekend I felt absolutely shattered but definitely easier to breathe so I decided to try and do a bit of housework ...

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 23:01

@stayathomegardener No idea on sats as I don’t have a monitor . I’ve just done the breathing exercises and I’m now lying on my front

tanyauk · 06/04/2020 23:04

@AnythingPecan
Thank you! That is reassuring
I also feel my burning moved from lung area to my stomach, I believe this virus is affecting inside lining membranes. Good night everyone, sending warm hugs to all of you

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 23:06

The really weird thing is that I’ve barely coughed in the last few days .. I gave up smoking 8 days ago and was expecting a vile cough but nothing .. Up until then I wasn’t sure if I was coughing due to the virus or being a smoker .

Elllicam · 06/04/2020 23:07

Day 16 (I think) just back from out of hours with dizziness chest pain and struggling to breathe. They basically checked my sats and sent me away.

stayathomegardener · 06/04/2020 23:08

@Spacecadetagain yes if I do too much the temperatures become more intense/frequent.

In my darkest moments I do wonder if this is ever going to end or am I going to be constantly battling it.

Spacecadetagain · 06/04/2020 23:15

@stayathomegardener I’m feeling that way myself right now .. esp as my temp has largely behaved itself all week .. I had a row on the phone with my dad on Saturday and bizarrely that caused my temperature to spike to 37.8 but it came down with paracetamol

alittleprivacy · 06/04/2020 23:30

I decided to chance a walk again this evening and I did it. I put on spotify and my headphones and I stayed out for four whole songs! I did a route I'd normally do in less than half that time but I took it nice and easy and stayed at a pace I was comfortable at. No ill effects so far from it. I was giddy from excitement. I kept my snood up over my mouth and nose as even though I know it's incredibly, incredibly unlikely that I'd be contagious enough for my regular breath to leave any viral particles hanging around in the atmosphere, I'd rather play it safe. But I'd say I had mad eyes peeping over the top, as I was grinning so much at the experience of being out in the world and feeling capable of taking a walk while not having to gulp in air or getting chest pains.

I'm still kind of buzzing from it. I phoned my mum to tell her about my walk when I got in and that left me a bit gaspy towards the end. So not fully recovered yet. But it's amazing and huge leap forward from yesterday where my chest and back were in so much pain I spent a lot of the day in bed almost crying.

simplekindoflife · 06/04/2020 23:32

Can't sleep, even though I feel exhausted. Chest pain is bad tonight, burning pain all along the bottom of my rib cage. I just can't get comfortable. Icy tingly pain all across my upper back.

My anxiety (read about Boris before bed) is through the roof tonight. And I'm not anxious normally either, it must be a symptom of the illness. I'm having such morbid thoughts.

simplekindoflife · 06/04/2020 23:34

@Wacadu what's the corona hub? Nobody has mentioned this to me? I've spoken to two different doctors, 111 and the 111 COVID team. The options seemed to be ambulance/hospital or home?! Confused

AnythingPecan · 06/04/2020 23:39

@simplekindoflife I don't blame you. The media is full of doom and gloom stories - disproportionate reporting leads one to believe that its not something most people recover from. I'd love to hear more positive stories - even from across the world.
I suffer from anxiety and this has been a really horrible experience. I've switched off the tele but I still receive the odd message from group chats which brings up my anxiety levels.
