Just wondering how bad the virus is where you live.

I am in the PR7 preston area and I know of 13 deaths in the hospital near me.

The figure is for wales as a whole, they dont break our figures down to a region. Im in Swansea. Waiting to see what todays figures are..

Fearofawelshplanet · 08/04/2020 14:43

33 in Wales todayConfused

EveLevine · 08/04/2020 14:53

I’m in Newport and it’s really bad here. We have the highest number outside of London. I have family members working in the Gwent and apparently it’s awful.

@Fearofawelshplanet There’s a breakdown by Health Board on the twitter link when they publish the numbers each day.

Fearofawelshplanet · 08/04/2020 14:59

Evie thank you so much this information. Obviously it goes without saying that I understand Newport is having a very difficult time and my thoughts are for everyone thereFlowers...

Lovelydovey · 08/04/2020 15:00

More than 100 deaths in our local borough. Too close to home for me.

EveLevine · 08/04/2020 15:07

@Fearofawelshplanet thank you. It’s so surreal at the moment. Aside from the lockdown it’s life as normal for our household - yet I know family members are working on the frontline, and everything’s totally different for them.

Fearofawelshplanet · 08/04/2020 15:21

Eve-Confused
I am hoping that the social distancing will take the pressure of your area soon. I am also very mindful of those on the frontline, here in Wales and everywhere. Hopefully the numbers will calm down soon.

I'm in Hampshire while it says it's the third worst area, but personally I have no idea. I'm not anywhere near Basingstoke, where a field hospital is to be built. Though technically we are in that hospital trust area. But there are a lot of complaints locally about going to Winchester General and then being transferred over to Basingstoke. We are so far away from compared to Southampton, which is only 10-15min drive from my house.

I don't think the statistics are meaningful because I really don't know what the situation is like in Southampton General.

zafferana · 08/04/2020 15:30

933 confirmed cases in Herts (but many not counted, like two people on my street, who have almost certainly had it and couldn't get tested).

70 people have apparently died.

EmMac7 · 08/04/2020 15:31

Who knows, we only have county wide stats and it’s a big county. Annoying lack of granular detail.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/04/2020 15:46

Cases by county, not just health board.
60 confirmed where we are.
It's taken a while to get here while other places have been hit first. So some calling for an end to the restrictions don't realise that some areas are behind the curve and are still rising.

jadey0891 · 08/04/2020 16:11

I live in London, I don't no how many deaths are in London

Wejustdontknow · 08/04/2020 16:27

I am in Sheffield which appears to have quite high numbers but also the best area for testing so I have heard. I don’t personally know anyone who has had it but did have a couple of people from work self isolate due to either a cough or temp but no other symptoms, nothing was confirmed and they are now back at work

ReginaGeorgeous · 08/04/2020 16:28

I’m just outside Birmingham, University Hospitals Trust Birmingham have recorded more deaths than any other trust in the UK

Fearofawelshplanet · 09/04/2020 19:56

41 today...and more lockdown, understandably....

twinnywinny14 · 09/04/2020 20:33

Kent looks like 6th to me

caringcarer · 10/04/2020 02:34

I live in West Midlands and heard on news this evening now we are having more new cases than London. I think we might peak before NEC new Nightingale hospital ready. Too many people breaking lockdown rules. I have not been out once except in garden. It is not that hard so I don't understand why so many idiots break rules. They should fine them £200 each with money going to NHS.

rainbowwelly · 10/04/2020 02:40

85 deaths in the city hospital right by my house. Many more rumoured in care homes. I'm in Portsmouth. Haven't heard the city mentioned on national news once. It's about a 50% death rate from confirmed cases too.

Hollyhobbi · 10/04/2020 03:37

Bad enough. I live in Dublin City very near the large teaching hospital which has the second highest number of cases in a hospital in Ireland. Dublin also has about 55% of all of the cases in Ireland. But as our Government seem to be hiding behind GDPR Regulations, or turning into the former Soviet Union, I don't know how many people have died at this hospital as they announce 10 people died today, 8 in the East of the country, 1 in the South and 1 in the North with no City or Town names mentioned.

Casino218 · 10/04/2020 04:29

In Leeds 437 cases and 50 deaths.

Fearofawelshplanet · 10/04/2020 14:09

Caring I have been watching worridly for the Midlands and Birmingham way, really hope the NEC is ready soon, my heart goes out to those struggling at present..Flowers

Fearofawelshplanet · 10/04/2020 14:13

Rainbow I havent heard much of Portsmouth, sorry its grim for you at the minute.
