@TheDrsWife46
On the flip side, once you are thru with this, you will have the antibodies that gives you the edge over others, and less fear of Covid.

EMichel102 · 05/04/2020 01:26

Good evening everyone - just woke up to use the facilities mid- trying time sleep and was pretty dizzy. I was pretty dizzy and had vertigo / light headedness all day when I was up and about (Day 19). Anyone else experiencing this? I think someone mentioned it a while back in the thread but can’t find it now. It’s just a bit of a scary symptom!

OneDayAtATime123 · 05/04/2020 01:36

@stayathomegardener
I will try your method on Vitamin C too. With Vitamin C [high doses] , I feel better too, but thought it was all in my head.

Check this link

Pokemontrainer · 05/04/2020 02:43

Emichel102 very scary and I had that and I was totally disoriented very dizzy and had to hold on to a hand rail to move a couple of steps.

I am much earlier in the COVID process and I can't really remember how long I have had it but the dizziness has passed and I am now hydrated.

I hope it passes for you too.

OneDayAtATime123 · 05/04/2020 03:56

@EMichel102
Typically the inner year can be infected by the virus and lead to dizziness and vertigo issues. It might resolve without treatment. But I would call a GP to be on the safe side, since there could be other reasons too.

UncomfortableBadger · 05/04/2020 04:39

After a really good day, I’m now in the throes of a really bad night leading into Day 10 Sad Chest pains and back pain much stronger than previously, despite co-codamol. Haven’t managed a wink of sleep.

Oximeter says oxygen levels still ok but I’m absolutely exhausted.

TheDrsWife46 · 05/04/2020 05:04

Morning just checking in as DD1’s coughing has woken me. I took the Kalms Nightime and they really are all that are helping me rest. I have managed sleep without them but it has been far more fitful etc. The dosage is 4 tablets but I only take 2 and Im still rousable. I don’t know if anyone else may find they help, it just seems to aid my rest to at least carry me into the next day.

I watched a video that recommended Vitamin C and funnily enough ordered a bag more for DH and the DD’s as prevention, but it doesnt arrive until next week. I read someone else (@stayathomegardener?? Was it you?) talking about getting to bowel tolerance where you take it until it gives diarrhoea then lower the dose slightly? Anyone give more guidance on that? X

UncomfortableBadger · 05/04/2020 05:56

@TheDrsWife46 For what it’s worth, I’d been taking vitamin C and vitamin D supplements for weeks before getting ill - I’m not sure it’s made much/any difference although I was taking hefty doses. Still feel truly terrible at 10 days in...

UncomfortableBadger · 05/04/2020 05:58

I just can’t get comfortable - even lying on my front is painful now. Anybody managed to find a way of getting to sleep without the burning lung and back pain getting worse?

WorriesomeDad · 05/04/2020 07:06

Blimey what a horrible night. Alternating periods of shortness of breath, ‘buzzing’ in my abdomen/chest and crazy palpitations. Barely managed any sleep. This thing is so scary. Morning Day 18 ish! How you doing @JackJackIncredible?

simplekindoflife · 05/04/2020 07:15

After a horrendous night on Friday night where I was struggling to breathe and just couldn't lie down, I managed to sleep all night last night! Unexpected relief.

I propped up three pillows and slept at a sideways half sitting up slant. Laying down flat makes me feel like I'm suffocating!

Day 8 I think now, so I'm aware it's early days still. Sad I wish I could press fast forward! Stabbing chest pain and back pain along with weird annoying tingling pain still very much there. Stomach is gurgling away too?!

I've been taking echinacea and multivitamins and I've been doing the breathing exercises. And I sat out in the sun for an hour yesterday to get some vit D. I'm drinking lots of hot honey and lemon, and also orange juice.

Hope everyone feels better soon

KatySun · 05/04/2020 07:32

I propped up on pillows as well simple because I noticed my chest pain was much worse in the morning for several hours. I was just coming on to post that to uncomfortablebadger. I will try it again tonight. I found it better than sleeping on my front, which I have also tried.

I seem to have sweated a lot last night and was quite warm, does anyone know if that means anything? (Aside from I need a shower now, and showers are very tiring!). I don’t have a temperature at the moment.

Day 16, I think, although I am losing count. Still very fatigued and lacking energy. Chest pain still there but I am prepared to say cautiously that it is slightly better than yesterday.

Also drinking hot water and lemon (don’t have any honey), taking vitamins including vitamin d, and trying to get fresh air and sun from my doorstep. Thank goodness for the garden.

Tangledyarn · 05/04/2020 08:05

@katysun I dont know but I'm having night sweats, I wake up every morning and absolutely stink. Ironically I'm not even getting any long stretches of sleep so unsure when these sweats are actually happening!

stayathomegardener · 05/04/2020 08:11

@LetsBeSensible @Tangledyarn do you not think it's interesting that it seems such a high proportion on this thread have cfs?I've had it 16 years now and was almost well before this.

Waiting for feedback fromDr Sarah Myhill the cfs specialist on long term recovery patterns hopefully this week

@TheDrsWife46 @OneDayAtATime123 will try and link the vitamin c video.

stayathomegardener · 05/04/2020 08:16

Yes to the night sweats but temperature was 35.9 🤷‍♀️

Not sure this link will work

KatySun · 05/04/2020 08:18

Ugh to the night sweats is all I can say. Sorry you are having them too Flowers

stayathomegardener · 05/04/2020 08:20

No, just google Dr Myhill advises on treating viral infection on YouTube.

TheDrsWife46 · 05/04/2020 08:34

Wow it was the Sarah Myhill video that i had watched and ordered vitamin C before I then asked for more guidance. Okay I’ll wait for it to arrive. I managed more sleep by sleeping on my front. I was in the recovery position with a pillow vertical under my chest and head.

I know how this goes now though. A good day, and then teatime i’ll try to eat and plummet. Lets hope i can foresee it and not then end up in a depressive hole!

Taffyapple8 · 05/04/2020 08:39

Day 7 and I've woken up feeling horrendous. Burning up and diarrhoea. Went downstairs to try and distract myself and sort the pigsty my partner and children have left but really felt rotten and quite breathless. I can take deep breaths tho. I suffer with bad health anxiety and really want to call 111. My partner is being very dismissive and saying its my anxiety.

Tangledyarn · 05/04/2020 08:39

@stayathomegardener Yeah there definitely seems to be a lot of us, i dont know whether it's the condition itself or just that anything underlying will make things more difficult eg I also have asthma and other bits too, but yeah I'm very worried I'm not getting better at a normal rate and how things might look for me in a few months time x

LetsBeSensible · 05/04/2020 08:44

@oncemorewithfeeling99 I am not surprised at the CFS lot all seeming to be getting the virus, as my experience of CFS is I catch everything going, it hits me like a truck and I go down like a sack of spuds, every time.

For those of you trying vitamin D, my CFS view on it is that it seems to help, as do vitamins, vit c, iron etc.They are not a cure. If you had not been taking them you might have felt a bit worse, but taking them won’t make you feel “better”. They play a supportive role but don’t put all of your hopes and wishes on them!

Bornfreebutincovidchains · 05/04/2020 08:45

The doctors wife and I'd say any of your last contacts could have given you covid, the road side diner, the last school goodbye and its only 8 days between sick step father and you being struck down.

Wishing everyone a recovery. I think its the mental torture of how long this drags out for and broken sleep seems the worse.

I think I have had it, hopefully the mild version!!

Porcupineinwaiting · 05/04/2020 08:55

@Taffyapple8 days 7-9 are grim for a lot of people, sorry. Just hang in there and keep an eye on your chest/breathing.

findingschools4myboys · 05/04/2020 08:56

Day 26...
Actually slept well even though I went to sleep panicking because my throat felt tight. I think that was anxiety related.
Have woken up like I usually do, very tired, groggy and a bit dizzy.

@EMichel102
I had severe vertigo from approximately day 10/11 (can’t quite remember) for around a week. My head felt completely blocked and my ears and I couldn’t sleep for 2 nights because if I lie down I would get nauseous and this heavy feeling I always speak about. But it was extreme for that week. Even if I say I felt like someone was pulling me and my internal organs down in the ground. I think it’s all related to my head and ears.
It has become much better btw. I get it very mildly now compared to then so at least I know it’s improving.
Hoping everyone is feeling a bit better today!

WorriesomeDad · 05/04/2020 09:03

Arrrgh this buzzing sensation in my abdomen is driving me crazy! Is it just me and @EMichel102? Is anyone else getting them??
