Has anyone on the shielding list still not received a letter/text?

According to Asthma UK I should be on the shielding list. I'm on Spiriva, montekulast and have taken 2 courses of prednisolone this year. Anyone else who assumed that were on the list still not in receipt of confirmation?
I'm shielding atm regardless but I will need to go out food shopping if I contunue not to gain access to delivery slots.

My mum has severe asthma but she hasn't had her letter yet either. Very frustrating as her doctors surgery aren't helping her get her medicines delivered either. I got her last lot but i can't keep going as im a single mum who's a carer to my autisic child so i don't want to keep putting myself at risk going there. Trying to get her to fill in the government form online for the vunerable to see if that helps. So angry with her gps surgery the receptionists are being really rude to her and won't even let her talk to the doctor on the phone. She takes lots of meds for asthma including uniphillun, molekast, pump etc many more but can't remember the names

I have several autoimmune conditions that put me on the high risk list, I'm still waiting for the letter to arrive. I am under the impression that a lot of people have fallen through the net.

She can't get slots either and i can't get one for her at all.

I'll be calling my surgery tomorrow. I did register on the government portal but I'm assuming confirmation from my GP is imperative. Sorry to hear you're having a rough time *Wannabang

I'm on the shielded list but I'm in Wales and the Welsh Government are proving themselves less than useless in notifying people. I only got confirmation through my clinical team. There's also no way of registering as vulnerable, unlike in England.

Yes. My condition was on the official government list the day it was released. I have isolated since.

No text, no letter. Managed to get a delivery slot, afraid I'll lose it through not having the letter

Friend of mine hasn’t had a letter. She’s an organ transplant recipient so high risk. She is however getting daily government motivational texts to help her get through her isolation.

Remember local fb groups will probably help with medication pick ups and even food runs.

Our village group has had a few non villagers join on behalf of their elderly parents who do live in the village and they message asking for errands on their parents behalf.

As per @VivaLeBeaver advised please use your local facebook groups of volunteers and any helpful neighbours as someone will try and help you that day. If you rely on the government and your local council you will be waiting days for any help.

I'm in the extremely vulnerable group and had to use Facebook volunteers to help me on Wednesday as the only food delivery I was sure of is arriving today.

My council phoned me up yesterday evening just before 6pm offering me help, which I now don't need.

DH hasn't had a letter yet. We changed GP last year and then his appointment for a condition review was cancelled in January and he was told a new appointment would be April at the earliest. Because of all that, I think he's slipped through the system. I sent an email to our practice this morning, giving all the relevant info and asking them to get in touch. He's currently self-isolating for 14 days as I'm showing symptoms and I don't want him going back to work. He works on a construction site and isolation won't be possible. God knows what we'll live on if he can't get told to stay away officially

I haven’t had a letter (I’m on immunosuppressant meds for Crohn’s and also have a congenital lung malformation). I had a call from the IBD team mid-week to say I was high-risk, but no letter has appeared. It’s a real nuisance to be told I have to isolate for 12 weeks but not be able to prove it.

The link above suggests it is a 2 step process to identify 'severe asthma' ...

1. Patients likely to have severe asthma were identified, using medicines data - this includes the list on inhalors that Asthma UK mentioned. Then...
2. From the above list of patients, those who had been dispensed 4 or more prescriptions for prednisolone between July 2019 and December 2019 were identified and considered to have severe asthma.

So inhaler (prescribed 3 times on more between Jul and Dec 2019) + predisolone 4 times or more = severe asthma.

I recently moved and changed GP so I think this has affected me as well.

I’ve had the letter and the texts. I thought the text was just a one off but they appear to be daily.

Yep not received. Rang the GP to be told I wasn't vulnerable
Consultant luckily rang me a week before to say I needed to be shielding
Nobody knows what to do if you don't get a letter, the GP says it doesn't come from them and "I'm not vulnerable anyway"

I'm on the list and nothing yet, but I'm also in Wales. Conflicting info whether the welsh government are actually bothering, as so few people have received them - and some have apparently actually been told by their doctors that they are not being sent!

So am I, although I’ve been told not to expect a letter. It may depend on how old long ago transplant was, and what meds you’re taking? I’ve been told to just social distance.

There seems to be a lot of lists that were released which have made people think they’d be very high risk, and then they’ve not been classed as that; which has caused chaos. It would have been useful if they’d been clear on what makes you so high risk that you’re eligible for support, and what just makes you higher risk.

Oh and we have been told to "follow gov advice and do not call your gp to check - gp's are too busy to deal with minor queries and if you don't have a letter, you are not on the list"

My brother didn't expect to get the letter but did, my sister expected to get it but didn't! The list of conditions is quite narrow though.

Apparently you can register here: www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable I don't know to what extent they accept self registration - whether you need medical sign off etc.

I think there threshold is quite high for making the list. Just having asthma doesn’t put you on the shielded list I think it does make her higher risk but doesn’t put you on the offical shielded list.
Just like with cancers not every cancer or treatment put you on the list.

To be honest I’m not sure what help it really is, still can’t get myself a delivery slot with Ocado.

I've registered on the GOV site. I have a letter and email to show I'm extremely vulnerable and plenty of other stuff to prove my condition

How long ago was your transplant @ShellsAndSunrises ? Mine was 16 years ago. If you live in England, then you should get one.

I just tried to register (neurological disorder) but despite being on the initial list the "extreme" list doesn't cover me
