I'm at home with the family, husband and 3 teenagers. Had a long walk this morning to try and gear me up for a productive day and just realised I've done nothing really. There's loads I could be doing, ironing, cleaning, baking, decorating etc but I'm really struggling to focus and get into things. I feel lethargic and anxious as I'm sure so many do. It's not that I can't think of things to do, I just find myself not doing them, for any longer than 10 minutes anyway!!!!
Kick me up the backside please.

Not a lot.

Herecomethedaffodils · 28/03/2020 17:22

GalOopNorth I think you're right, it's still early days and there is definitely a period of adjustment to this needed. I need to not 'judge' myself if it's not been a productive day, because there will be some days that are just "meh" The main aim is to get through it well and stay at home so everyone else gets through it well too. Cheers all

I have tonsillitis so taking it a bit easier today, I’ve had a shower, played chess with ds, made pain au chocolat for breakfast, set up ds electric guitar lesson on zoom and tuned his guitar, done some washing, drying and put clothes away. Done a few hours work (wfh), watched jumanji with ds, played with dog and am now making a roast dinner.

AgentCooper · 28/03/2020 17:24

Played with DS in the house and garden. We ended up coming in from the garden because it’s really chilly here and he went a bit doolally with the hose and got soaked (he’s 2).

Walked to Lidl for shopping by myself, which was a bit of a treat as I’ve been in charge of DS every minute for the past week.

Me and DH would like to take DS for a walk but he touches everything (mainly cars) and obviously doesn’t understand social distancing. We’d like to drive somewhere but I’m so fucking confused about what we’re actually allowed to do. Don’t fancy getting stopped by the police with DS in the back.

shellysheridan · 28/03/2020 17:25

Had a lazy day.
Had homemade waffles for breakfast then playing Happyland with ds2.
A spot of Cosmic Yoga - the minecraft one - with both ds's.
Run and play for half an hour in the garden but it's so cold.
Now attempting to clean but sidetracked by a cuddly ds2.

So long as I don’t eat a shed load of butter and chocolate; walk for an hour at least every day; clean the toilet and do a little gardening everyday, that’ll do me. It is really challenging to do do. I’m not being too hard on myself if I while away my time.

Bouncingbomb · 28/03/2020 17:25

Exercised, made pancakes, watched a film, pattern matched four lengths of fabric for some curtains, gloss treatment on my hair - currently sewing curtains. Changed sheets and even ironed them!

devildeepbluesea · 28/03/2020 17:25

Walked dog
Did a Bodypump class with Les Mills Online
Felt really shaky as it's been ages since I did a Bodypump class
Showered
Ate
Watched Spooks
Did an hour in the garden
Made popcorn for DD
Went upstairs for a little snooze, in order to avoid wine until 5pm
Drunk wine

Letsdoanamechangeagain · 28/03/2020 17:28

I've had a lazy day, but that was my intention after such a busy week working and home schooling. Feeling rather frazzled.

Gave front room and kitchen a good tidy. Watched a film with the kids this afternoon. We've done some colouring together, video called some family.

I'm making tea and I'm not doing anything else after that aside from bedtime and stories!

Hopefully tomorrow will be slightly more energetic, but not felt it today

CurryGoat · 28/03/2020 17:29

Made pancakes
Steam cleaned my mattress
Received Ocado shopping
Made a beef and vegetable soup
Fed the kids (again)
Laundry
Now watching 'Life in Pieces' whilst drinking a glass of wine

MrsHoolie · 28/03/2020 17:29

I feel the same OP. No motivation and feelings of gloom and worry.

HerRoyalNotness · 28/03/2020 17:31

Got up about 10, vaccumed the living area, walked to the post box for the mail, now making collard greens for dinner and will start on the pork butt in a minute for carnitas

NoWordForFluffy · 28/03/2020 17:34

Cleaning
Went to the allotment and got about 150 summer bulbs into the ground after weeding / clearing the areas they're in.
Made pizza dough / topped pizzas with the kids.
Made curry for our dinner.
Made crumble.

We3kingsoforientareandabump · 28/03/2020 17:34

Watched 8 films on Disney +

wineandsunshine · 28/03/2020 17:34

Shellac'ed my nails
Made lunch
Online shopping for garden bulbs and home schooling activity books
Walk around our local country park
Film with DS's
Curry for dinner (made by DH) while I slob on the sofa!

mynameiscalypso · 28/03/2020 17:34

God, I feel spectacularly unproductive. I did some yoga, cleaned the kitchen, spoke to my parents. Other than that, mainly trying to feed/entertain/get a 7 month old to sleep. Now having a glass of wine. Highlight was probably a fruit and veg box delivery so I'm now trying to decide how best to use it all!

unique1986 · 28/03/2020 17:36

Nothing at all apart from eating food/watching tv

PeanutbutterJamSandwich · 28/03/2020 17:38

1st day off work today! As an SEN teacher I don’t have to work the holidays as all of our kids live in carehomes, so school’s been normal for last couple of weeks.... I’m welcoming this break!

However I did get jumped on at 6am this morning by my 10yr old who just had to tell me he’d done the longest wee ever!! 🤣

From then I’ve watched toy story 1 with dd, been out mnt biking with DS, watched toy story 2 with both dc, done some weights and stretches, cleaned bathroom, now cooking dinner.

ShanghaiDiva · 28/03/2020 17:38

Went out for a walk combined with collecting prescriptions for my mum and her neighbours.
Helped dd with homework.
Played fridge Tetris - there are three of us staying with my mum who has a very small fridge. Dd and I have been here since we left China in Feb. We eat everything in date order (shop once per week) and then restack fridge once today’s food has been removed. I think it could be a new game show!

ILiveInSalemsLot · 28/03/2020 17:39

Sod all today.
Most days have been ok with some exercise, chores and reading as well as sorting out kids, but today has been lazy and I don’t feel good for it!

PeanutbutterJamSandwich · 28/03/2020 17:39

Writing my day down makes me look like I’ve done loads! Doesn’t feel like it though 😬

PertEllaTitsahoy · 28/03/2020 17:39

Can someone recommend an online exercise class - about 30 mins for a not so fit 40 something that wont kill me Grin

LH1987 · 28/03/2020 17:40

Slept till 11.30
Ate a massive fry up
Watched the last season of love island, as I hadn't gotten into it this year.

Highly productive :)

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 28/03/2020 17:40

Not much, TBH. Having the day stretch in front of me always leads to arsing about, as I have no sense of urgency. Did a 5k run, bath +book, went to Tesco, made a curry.

MaudBaileysGreenTurban · 28/03/2020 17:43

Cleaned the kitchen
Sat outside in the sunshine with my book and a coffee
Did a yoga class via Zoom
Tidied up the bedroom and cleared the floordrobe
De-bobbled a couple of jumpers Grin
Now slobbing on the sofa and faffing on MN
Not even cooking dinner - it will be the leftovers from last night's Chinese takeaway!

I don't feel bad about doing nothing today. I've been working 11-hour days all week and I need a day of doing bugger-all and ignoring my emails.

Might go out for a walk tomorrow, if the weather is nice. Maybe.
