Lockdown weight gain!

Lighthearted. Sort of. I have gained 3lbs back of the stone that I worked very, very hard to get rid of after Christmas.
Is anyone else having a snacking nightmare? Trying to work, deal with fighting kids, home school and make all the meals. Feeling stressed about jobs, the virus etc. Drinking a joyful glass and a half of wine a night and eating WAY too much chocolate. Eating lots of healthy things too, and going on a 30 minute run, doing Joe Wicks with the kids etc every day. It’s boredom, stress and accessibility of food as we are spending most of the day in the kitchen. I know it’s not a major issue in the scheme of things. But... Help!!!

I've lost quite a lot, despite drinking more. Can't eat when I'm worried also try not to so the food in the house will last longer.

Chickenwing · 25/03/2020 14:39

I have been a total pig the last week. I lost over a stone since the start of january and now im too scared to stand on the scales...

Today so far I have eaten:

2 x slices of toast, fibre one brownie, half an oven pizza, 1 yorkie and 2 packets of hoola hoops.

Undies1990 · 25/03/2020 14:40

I've lost weight because I'm trying to ration the food I have managed to get hold of recently.

DisorganisedOrganiser · 25/03/2020 14:41

Would be impossible for us to gain weight. Have been isolated for days now and relying on what shopping they neighbours can get us. All of us are hungry especially DH and me as we need to give to the kids. I really can’t understand how people have enough food to gain weight. Even if we could go out the shop shelves are bare.

MarshaBradyo · 25/03/2020 14:41

Opposite here

Iamblossom · 25/03/2020 14:42

I am a snacker and am having to keep a VERY tight lid on it as also drinking every night. Running and walking as much as possible.

2kids2jobs · 25/03/2020 14:47

Oh god I'm completely the same. I did so well after Christmas. Stuck to intermittent fasting and lost 2st but this month has completely gone to shit. I've been trying to do PE with joe wicks just to try and get a bit of a normal routine going.

Itsnotthatcomplicated · 25/03/2020 14:53

I am losing weight.

Turns out my weight issue was, in part, down to office treats. We stopped being allowed communal biscuits/cakes last week.
I am down 7lbs. 🙈

Itsnotthatcomplicated · 25/03/2020 14:54

Sorry should have said I have started WFH
And eating less too. The 7lbs awasnt just cake in the office.

But I am obviously eating less while at home.

Knocksomesense · 25/03/2020 14:57

I'm losing weight. I'm fasting to conserve food and also because we can't just pop to the corner shop for crisps.

We consider DS1 to be vulnerable so wont be leaving the house but he isn't categorised as vulnerable because he is in the process of being diagnosed. Rather safe than sorry

NoMorePoliticsPlease · 25/03/2020 14:58

Dont worry about it

feelingverylazytoday · 25/03/2020 14:59

Down 3 llbs. I've stopped drinking, cut out snacking and eating smaller portions, to make the food last longer. Trying to do a few exercises indoors as well to keep healthy

LizzieMacQueen · 25/03/2020 15:01

Half of us will lose weight, other half will gain 😟. I'm in the gain half.

GreyishDays · 25/03/2020 15:02

I have a plan to make some really nice salad. Err that’s all I’ve got. Grin

Caramel78 · 25/03/2020 15:07

I’m trying not to snack too much as I gain weight so easily. It’s difficult though as I’m always hungry and could snack all day long. Trying to have just one snack mid morning and one in the afternoon

userabcname · 25/03/2020 15:11

Yeah, me. Lockdown makes me snacky.

DisorganisedOrganiser · 25/03/2020 15:16

Where are you all getting food to snack on, seriously?! We have a multipack of crisps. I have no idea when we will get more, maybe Monday. I could easily eat the whole pack now as I am bloody starving but I won’t as then we won’t have them the rest of the week. We have half a bar of family sized chocolate. Again, could happily eat it all but we are having a few squares at a time.

Two small snacks a day. How do you have food to have more?

We are rationing everything and I can’t see how other people are not. The shop shelves are bare, no deliveries and all the local corner shops have now shut.

TipseyTorvey · 25/03/2020 15:17

I've lost weight. Drinking too much wine but cba to eat as too twitchy. Also don't want to eat food the kids could have in case they completely lock us down. We're also self isolating for another 8 days so have no way to get more food if we run out.

PeterPanGoesWrong · 25/03/2020 15:17

Yes, same here. All my months of hard work at the gym seem to be in vain now. I’d felt I was really making headway. But hey ho, I will get there again. I’m trying to work out at home but I’m just not able to push myself, I quit as soon as I’m breathless.

Verb3naSantos · 25/03/2020 15:18

I’m losing weight. Rationing food and going for a daily longer walk from the door because we can’t drive/ be in work is making me fitter. Have been too anxious to stuff choc or wine. Every cloud.

edwinbear · 25/03/2020 15:19

I had my appendix taken out on Sunday, appendicitis Fri/Sat and the worry over the first post op poo has seen my weight plummet. It’s the only good thing in my life right now Grin

BeepOpsiePie · 25/03/2020 15:20

Do PE with Joe every day, that will help! Grin

I'm in the lose weight crew. In order to snack loads every day you'd either have to have stockpiled a SHITLOAD of snacks, or you're going out to the shops more frequently than you should be at a time like this.

Greenpop21 · 25/03/2020 15:21

I’m losing too. Time to make healthy choices plus nice weather so less likely to comfort eat as well as making the most of fresh air and my daily outdoor exercise with the dog.

Mistymonday · 25/03/2020 15:36

Gaining here - losing my commute has lowered my exercise levels a fair bit. Eating through the brexit stash we already had so plenty in (bought very gradually during the year before corona).
