Day 7 today so I'm able to go out tomorrow, we need food. DP is still isolating but he'll have to run me in the car, he won't get out.

I'm still coughing but temp been normal since day 3. Gov says can still go out and I'm due back at work.

I'm obviously going to have tissue but I'm scared of what will happen if people see me coughing.

I cannot not go, i also need stuff for my mum.

I'm goung to get lynched

Coughing is fine, it may last 6 weeks. As long as you don't have a fever anymore, you're no longer infectious so can leave the house

Try this group, they have loads of people willing to help and shop for others: covidmutualaid.org/

@wickedgames Very true, I'm not going out yet despite having gone past the 2 week isolation, but im off sick from work (also hcp) rather than just isolating. You've got to go back to work, theres no choice, take care xx

The problem isnt the lingering cough (tho much of the public will be horrified if they hear you).
The problem with your plan is your husband driving you. He shouldnt be leaving the house.
If you cant do it without him, you need to find an alternative plan.

I get it. It sucks. I currently gave a 10 year old whi can leave the house, and the rest of us cant. He has previously been to tesco to get food when we were running short (in pre Corona days), and doesn't get why I wint let him go now when we are rather running out of everything.

Best places for delivery I've found are local farm shops, butchers and wholesale suppliers. Supermarkets are 0 use.

Good luck

@zyxray thankyou so much. That is the best bit of advice ive seen. I had a much better night last night and havent woken in a coughing fit for the first time.

I'll reassess before i go out, but i have a work meeting this morning (online) so hopefully it will have settled as it always improves during the day.

In fairness, i find it confusing that It says can go out after 7 days if still coughing. It feels wrong so I'm constantly checking the guidelines.

I really don't want to go out but i have little choice. We can manage another at a push.

Kitten, i have considered this also. However he will have zero contact with anyone and wont be getting out of the car so won't be touching anyone.

Yes, i have hand gel

LEM
They are the what ifs, but what if, for example:
The car breaks down
Someone crashes into you

You are risking putting people in harms way if your husband leaves the house.

JustDanceAddict · 25/03/2020 07:46

You can go out after a week even if still coughing as nhs guidelines.

However he will have zero contact with anyone and wont be getting out of the car so won't be touching anyone.
If he is infected you will be sitting beside him in the car and probably have your clothes covered in the virus, so you could very easily be spreading it around.
