Lighthearted.

Just made me laugh that it's out of stock everywhere. Even Amazon has run out.

More precious than toilet roll!

😂

I feel lucky I have no fake eye lashes, HD eye brows and currently no gelish. I will miss my haidresser and beautician over the next few months though. Told them to keep my deposits, we gotta make sure they survive!

My hair will definitely resemble that 😂

To be honest it already does! I was booked in for my colour next month so it will be long overdue when the salons open again. In fact I’m even worried that I won’t get an appointment - like my salon will probably be fully booked for weeks when they start taking appointments again!

thequeenbeyondthewall · 24/03/2020 18:12

No one will regocognise me after isolation.

Jeans already tight, no Botox, no lip filler, no hair dye 😂

Best thing I heard today, hands down!

TopShelf · 24/03/2020 19:11

Esalon's colourists mix your hair colour and post it to you.

Bit pricey but needs use.

thequeenbeyondthewall · 24/03/2020 19:29

Thanks @TopShelf

I was due my cut and colour next week. I get a grey badger stripe down the middle of my head which has started to come through now. My hairdresser text me today begging me not to use box dyes, but if this goes on much longer than the 3 weeks I really don't feel like I'll have a choice!!

quasimodo7 · 24/03/2020 19:35

It's not grey roots, its " root shadow".....you pay a lot in a salon for the root shadow look, now we're all getting it for free, yippee!!!

WinterRose92 · 24/03/2020 19:38

I managed to get a box of black hair dye on Amazon! Almost all sold out though, like you say 😂

WotchaTalkinBoutWillis · 24/03/2020 19:39

Lol, makes me glad I haven't dyed my hair for about 20 years now - you'll just see my usual dark, mousy blonde Grin

Kuponut · 24/03/2020 19:41

I'm lucky at present in that I got in with the hairdresser just before the shit hit the fan and so my roots are fairly in check at the moment. They're going to be bloody obvious when they do though as my hair is bleached to shit with purple streaks through it and very short so looks a mess really quickly when it's not been cut.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 24/03/2020 20:00

Our Boots had a a security guard & sales assistant sat by the door asking what you needed before they let you in.
The make up/perfume/baby clothes/photo areas were cordoned off but everything else was available (even hair dye) so managed to get what I needed.
Soap/handwash section was still bare but our Wilkos had plenty of soap & handwash plus hair dye too.

browzingss · 24/03/2020 21:05

Wow, interesting hearing how strict Boots are! I’ll have to see what my local store is like tomorrow, I only need healthcare items though so should be okay

Not going to risk dying my hair myself, I’d look even worse!

Troels · 25/03/2020 22:03

Thats a bit weird at Boots restricting what you get, Asda was selling baby clothes and makeup and hair dye. Nothing was cordoned off at all.
Heck can you imagine if your TV broke, house full of kids and Asda said sorry, a TV is not essential, I would beg to differ.

browzingss · 25/03/2020 22:15

I went to a large Boots today, nothing was cordoned off and no staff were restricting what you purchased, nor were there security guards questions customers going in etc. Business as normal albeit very quiet and eerie

MadameJosephine · 25/03/2020 22:20

Everyone was talking about this at work today. I’m feeling very smug about my earlier decision to embrace my grey Grin

MrsMGE · 25/03/2020 22:25

I found ONE box during my weekly shop today 😁 still no idea how to cut my own hair though! Tips would be welcome!

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 25/03/2020 22:26

Embrace the grey I say.

No bloody way! I preempted this and have some Nice n Easy ready. No idea if it's the right colour (it looks similar on the box) but it can't be worse than being grey!*

*I know some people are happy being grey and I'm not judging them, I wish I could be. I have very curly hair that will look like a cloud of grey frizz if I don't do something!

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/03/2020 23:52

I totally recommend John Frieda 'Frizz Ease Range' especially the hairspray.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 25/03/2020 23:54

And although our Boots were questioning before entry. I still managed to buy my hairspray & shampoo amongst other things.

Daffodil101 · 25/03/2020 23:57

My husband scoffed when I texted my hairdresser last week asking roughly what colour I needed. I managed to get the right one. He also scoffed when I bought a nine pack of loo roll and paracetamol in case of Brexit....

TheArchSorcererofContwaraburg · 26/03/2020 00:03

I'm more surprised at how many have been paying to have it professionally dyed. Ouch! I've been using dye on mine for years. No way I will 'embrace' the grey, I had coarse, curly hair that's quite thick and olive skin, it looks like shit.

soupforbrains · 26/03/2020 00:08

I don’t think it’s people who already dye their hair panicking. If my wider social circle is anything to go on then a large number of people are using the period of lock down to experiment with dramatic colour changes.

HeIenaDove · 26/03/2020 00:12

I get mine done at the hairdressers. Ive never used a box dye. I last had mine done on the 12th so not too long ago. At the end of last week i could feel the lockdown coming so last Friday i bought some glitzy hair grips from New Look and some plain large brown ones from Superdrug (to pin back my fringe when i need to which will probably be in another two weeks) i also bought a new can of the Loreal root touch up on Tuesday just gone. Dont need to use it quite yet but may have to soon.

And/or wear a hat if it still stays cold. Im a brunette so the grey really stands out when it comes through.

My hair is so thick that even if i did want to use a box dye it would take a few of them to do one hit of it.

My hairdresser also put on fb not to use a box dye. I never have.
