I'm not joking. I live next to a particular denomination church (not CoE) and there are about 12 people in the grounds having photos taken with the bride & groom who are both in full traditional white dress and suit!! WTF?!

That’s spooky

alltripe · 24/03/2020 03:02

They are outside and they do seem to be roughly 2m apart. Apart from the bride and groom, but presumably they are of the same household.

So, not ideal, but it’s not actually that bad.

ArriettyJones · 24/03/2020 03:06

Weird thread of the week award, easily.

Gingerkittykat · 24/03/2020 03:26

Are you in the UK and is this happening at 1am?

GlendaSugarbeanIsJudgingYou · 24/03/2020 03:29

Shotgun wedding? That's so last Tuesday.

Lockdown wedding.

AngelaScandal · 24/03/2020 05:36

Oh that is the creepiest picture

Lynda07 · 24/03/2020 06:17

I think you've got it wrong, here's been an exhumation and what looks like the bride is a ghost.

ArriettyJones · 24/03/2020 06:23

I’m not sure that exhumation involves ghosts Grin

Blabbyblab · 24/03/2020 07:40

How very corpse bride 🤣

Wannabangbang · 24/03/2020 07:45

Ooh er how very ghostly

VTechnophobe · 24/03/2020 07:54

@Gingerkittykat yes at 1am! It was the strangest thing to see.

Cupcakegirl13 · 24/03/2020 07:58

I thought you could only get married between certain times of the day ?

FlamingoAndJohn · 24/03/2020 07:59

I guess they wanted to get it done before the complete lockdown.

VTechnophobe · 24/03/2020 08:34

@FlamingoAndJohn I'm not sure. That was my reason for saying it wasn't CoE though as perhaps rules differ?

OP posts:
rose69 · 24/03/2020 08:36

Registration rules would apply to all churches. They may have had a ceremony but it wouldn't be something that the officials in the church could register.

MLMsuperfan · 24/03/2020 08:38

Ghosts don't have to obey the new rules because they're already dead.

FilledSoda · 24/03/2020 08:39

Are all the guests in black ?
What a mysterious photo
Would it be terribly outing to say what denomination it is ?

Elieza · 24/03/2020 08:42

Weird. People are still supposed to put the banns in 21 days or whatever prior so I presume they had done so for a wedding that day and just had it as early as possible in the morning so it would be legal? Creepy but if they were supposed to marry at 11am or something and the church would be shut I suppose it’s one way of getting round the corona times, by marrying earlier in the morning. Much earlier!

Applejaxx · 24/03/2020 08:46

Is it one of these happy clappy, Evangelical churches? As in my experience they are always a bit weird.

planningaheadtoday · 24/03/2020 08:49

OhCaptain · 24/03/2020 08:50

Wtf?! 😂😂

VTechnophobe · 24/03/2020 11:20

@FilledSoda it's Plymouth Brethren...

OP posts:
Applejaxx · 24/03/2020 11:24

OMG, Plymouth Bretheren! I watched a documentary about them once. They are bonkers.

BacklashStarts · 24/03/2020 11:30

Defo looks like a sacrifice rather than a wedding Grin
