No email received, despite being carer to a vulnerable person. (Although Twitter reveals that some non-vulnerable people have got an email to their puzzlement).

Engaged for past 6 hours. (Yes, engaged. No queue).

Ignored on Facebook

Ignored on Twitter - where it transpires a lot of people are having issues with this. I'm lucky enough to be able to use the telephone, but as some people have noted, the "phone only" option excludes some people with disabilities.

Looks like a store visit is called for ... after I was told on Saturday that my charge clearly "doesn't need any proof" as they are in a wheelchair.

Rant over, blood pressure lowered. Stay safe all.

Bastards!

Sainsbury's have cancelled my parents delivery that they booked several days ago! Apparently Sainsbury's are now medical experts and have decided that they are only vulnerable not very vulnerable despite an auto-immune disorder requiring immunosurpressant drugs 😡

So looks as though I am doing a round trip of over an hour to deliver shopping for them (which obviously I don't mind but they don't want to be dependent)

It's cruel cancelling orders, at least implement a ridiculous policy to just cover orders placed afterwards.

Meandyouandyouandme · 27/03/2020 11:19

I’ve had my delivery this morning and I’m not vulnerable. They opened some slots to delivery pass customers on Wednesday so I booked one. Did order stuff for my elderly parents as well and we are self isolating so needed a delivery. Sainsbury’s sent me an email to say they were still working on identifying vulnerable customers and so had opened up deliveries to delivery pass customers in the meantime. Can only book one at a time though. I think all supermarkets should only let people have one delivery at a time, at least the deliveries would be shared round more, instead of some people having one a week for the next 3 weeks, and some no chance at all.

PinkJam · 27/03/2020 14:19

Really disagree with cancelling orders. Change in policy should only affect orders made after that.

Graphista · 27/03/2020 16:13

I managed to get a slot this weekend but I’ve not done a normal order as I’ve focused my money (this juggling deliveries is getting very expensive too!) on trying to get the items specific to Sainsburys and which I’m having most difficulty getting.

Checked email in case they cancelled.

Email from Tesco - max 80 items per order from now on! Wtf!! This will mean people struggling even more to get the items they need and actually needing to shop more meaning more pressure on slots! Ridiculous decision!

Well, we ventured out at 9. Not to any of our local Sainsburys as they have lifts that you have to go in to get to the store, and being in a lift isn't great for infection control.

However the store we chose wasn't too busy. No control on the entrance, although they were tallying customers and the security guard said they'd start to restrict when numbers got higher.

Got almost everything on our list, so mustn't grumble too much. In fact got a couple of things that weren't on the list and unexpected. Maybe this crisis will see a return of the concept of "little pleasures" ?

But everyone seemed in good spirits. No reason to go out for at least a week now (two if we can sacrifice our love of a fresh loaf on Saturday ...)

Best wishes to all here - hope you get through it too.
