No BBC special this afternoon - is there a press briefing?

Just that really, I noticed there wasn't a BBC news special today and Boris did seem to be getting a bit bored with the whole daily press conference thing Confused

Updates on the numbers at 2pm seem to have gone by the wayside as well.

830pm tonight, is it BBC? I'm a single parent to two boys(plus dog), I haven't subscribed to panic buying so not much supplies in the house as we normally shop every 3/4 days.... Should I go tonight?, if he announces lock down shops will be full tomorrow won't they?

phoria · 23/03/2020 18:55

Yes, go now! Will be manic from tonight after he makes the announcement. I think it's highly likely we'll lockdown. We're on the same number of deaths that Italy had when it locked down.

The Foreign Office told all overseas British to come home now earlier today. They need flights to get here, so I wouldn't criticise there still being flights, especially as there are far fewer than usual already.

Is Boris still doing a speech everyday or not now we have almost lockdown?

Yes, but it may not be him every day, like yesterday when it was held by Matt Hancock and Jennie Harries (?)

I think today it's supposed to be Boris though.

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/03/2020 16:36

It's due at 4.45pm

DaisyDoo09 · 25/03/2020 16:37

What time is the briefing does anyone know ?

covetingthepreciousthings · 25/03/2020 16:39

4.45pm start according to Twitter

Relieved to see Chris Witty back, was a bit worried he had become ill.

KeysDontBelongInTheFridge · 25/03/2020 16:59

That would be so sad if Witty became ill, I don’t think I could handle it!
