The us must surely have the most cases. Because it has been here probably since early February and nothing was being done to prevent spread. We started taking it seriously mid february from watching world news, but if people were only paying attention to US news they wouldn't have been too worried.
I'm absolutely sure there are thousands of cases here that aren't known. Testing was suppressed so much that the scale of infection won't come out till later. Even now, not enough people are taking it seriously. I made plans for isolation at end of fev with my neighbour, we did a huge shop after discussing what we would need etc... but since then her whole family go out daily, often several times, for no good reason. They don't understand why my original plans to share isolation time with them aren't going ahead... but they have done nothing to quarantine themselves despite having risks like 4 over 50, 1 heart op kid etc. Drives me mad. The teens keep having friends over or playing in street with all the other kids.
The only sign that any kind of measures are in place is the lack of traffic during rush hour. My husband's commute it 20 mins right now instead of over an hour. A lot of people are working from home, but not staying at home. People still nip out multiple times a day for lottery tickets or cigarettes etc.
I think america will end up worst hit because of the sheer stupidity of the people who refuse to allow anyone to curtsil their freedom, the lack of health insurance etc and size of the population.
