Got cough cant isolate need to get food shopping

I have a cough and feel like i have the flu im isolating with my kids however i need to get some shopping bits im a single parent dont hve no one to help me or even watch the kids so i will have to take them along with me i have been trying to get a online delivery but havent had no luck its ridiculous

Please, please don't go out. You could easily kill someone. That's how serious this is.

Phone local grocer, dairy or corner shop and ask them to deliver. All the wee shops around here are doing it.

Alternatively search your area name and "mutual aid" on Facebook. Phone a church or Gudwara. There is help out there. You need to try.

Ask school parents? If I got a message from one of the school mums asking for help I’d do it. I imagine most would (obviously some can’t for various reasons).

OP - create a Facebook account when you get better. I’m not massively into Social Media but find Facebook a great source of info on community activities etc.

Join Nextdoor - lots of people on there have been offering help. You definitely don't need to go out. There must be someone in your life you can contact. Other school parents, a neighbour, a co-worker.

But there must be alot of people in similar situations to me i moved recently and left my partner and area i grew up in as i was in a domestic abusive relationship

There is a site called 'Nextdoor'. Join the one in your area. In my area alone, there have been at least 20 people offering help to do peoples shopping, walk their dog, collect medications etc etc.

OP- yes, there will be some people not on facebook and without nearby friends. I surprised though that you havent read the multiple threads on here about corona and where to help!

But can't people set up a Facebook account just for things like this? Don't have to have a profile photo of yourself or kids. Can have a different name.

If you live in a town or village - put a post on Facebook or a poster in your window.

If you live in the middle of nowhere google some phone numbers. It’s not fucking difficult!
