I really don't want to take her to the hospital right now. We're in self isolation with symptoms.

A friend offered to go chemist and get stristrips.

I've cleaned with savlon antiseptic cream.

What would you do?

I think that needs a doctor.

Do you have a walk in centre that you can call for advice?

Ohfeckohfuckohshit · 22/03/2020 13:04

Oh shit. That needs a dr

YgritteSnow · 22/03/2020 13:04

Doctor. That needs stitches I think.

WeakAsIAm · 22/03/2020 13:04

It's looks fairly deep, probably will scar more so if not fixed properly.
I'd take her to A&E it's nice you're thinking of others but honestly think it needs to be seen x

CheriLittlebottom · 22/03/2020 13:05

That looks like it will need seeing to, unfortunately.

PlantHerd · 22/03/2020 13:05

Definitely a doctor. Its there a minor unit nearby?

SistemaAddict · 22/03/2020 13:05

Ouch. I'd say that needs stitching or possibly glueing. Especially as it's her face. Have you got a minor injuries unit nearby?

Haybo26 · 22/03/2020 13:05

She needs proper medical attention on this I think otherwise she could end up with a very nasty scar bless her.

Readytogogogo · 22/03/2020 13:06

Absolutely needs stitches or that will scar badly. Please take her

devildeepbluesea · 22/03/2020 13:06

That does need stitches, I'd say. Ouch.

Funnyface1 · 22/03/2020 13:06

I know you're trying to be responsible but you have to get help with that.

Jollitwiglet · 22/03/2020 13:06

I agree that does look like it should be checked by a Dr. The alternative would be to speak to a pharmacist and get their opinion first

Haybo26 · 22/03/2020 13:06

Might be worth your friend showing this pic to the chemist for their advice too.

Ciwirocks · 22/03/2020 13:06

If you are self isolating with symptoms you cannot go to A&E you need to ring 111 for advice at least then if you go to A&E staff will have the correct PPE on and you will limit the number of other people you May infect

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 22/03/2020 13:07

That definitely needs seeing. I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near that bad when I read the thread title.

coffeeandcreamer · 22/03/2020 13:07

Oh poor DD. Minor injuries I'd say

AccidentsAhoy · 22/03/2020 13:07

What is PPE?

DH has gone to show pharmacist

EarlLeighIndamornin · 22/03/2020 13:08

Can you take her to a pediatric department?

Cornettoninja · 22/03/2020 13:09

That’s a nasty one.

I understand your reluctance but that needs to be seen and stitched properly.

Whereabouts in the country are you? A lot of a&e’s are pretty quiet at the moment (DP had to go in an ambulance earlier in the week) and they’re prepared to manage ‘normal’ attendances alongside covid.

Herpesfreesince03 · 22/03/2020 13:10

That needs to be stitched properly or it’s going to disfigure her face

Cornettoninja · 22/03/2020 13:10

Sorry I missed you’re self isolating with symptoms. Yes 111.

I hope she gets sorted soon x

AccidentsAhoy · 22/03/2020 13:11

Herpes I think disfigure is a bit strong Hmm

OP posts:
Wildboar · 22/03/2020 13:12

It needs hospital treatment I’m afraid.

OrlandoInTheWilderness · 22/03/2020 13:12

That needs stitched or glueing.

Ciwirocks · 22/03/2020 13:15

PPE is gloves, mask etc it takes time to put on but helps to protect the staff from infection. You need to call ahead if you are planning on going to a&e. If you are self isolating how is your dp going out? Or have I misunderstood
