Is it too late to get any deliveries slots from any supermarket? I don't mind having to wait, but I would like to try & book.

Nothing here for the next month, central London.

Co-op do click and collect. Quite a few local businesses are doing a delivery service.

Have one booked for Wed. Went on yesterday to book another and the first available date was 13th April. I booked 15th as I might be at work on 13th and only a few slots were available in the middle of the day. Depends where you live and stores vary.

Couldn't get a Sainsburys slot (have a delivery pass and usually book every Wednesday for a Saturday delivery)

Had my order arrive last week, thought I'd book this weeks slot earlier and there was nothing.

Managed to get Morrison's for next Saturday (booked 7 days ago for 7 days time!!)

Did make a thread last week, having a moan. The situation has escalated so much, in such a short space of time and quite frankly I think we just have to suck it up.

Supermarkets need to have plans in place though... for example I disagree with being able to bulk book slots in this current climate. Asda should sort that shit out.

I was annoyed at the delivery driver yesterday. Its a "no sign" now (has been for a week) on the pad. He handed out the signing pad for me to sign!!! I said no, you do that now.
I wonder how many customers did sign without thinking before me?

Nothing at all here. I’m
Pregnant and supposed to be self isolating but if I didn’t go to the shops I wouldn’t have food for my toddler. Crazy

7th April next slot here in rural Yorkshire, not convinced that I will receive much of the order though!

Getting a slot is one thing . How much of your order you'll get is another .

I booked 4 asda slots last week before everywhere went too mad. So I've got my slots BUT for example, I have a shop coming before 12 today. I ordered £50 worth of food and only £14 of it is actually coming. None of it the stuff we really need.

We are in London (SW) and there are some local food wholesalers who usually supply restaurants but have swapped to delivering to homes.

There may be something similar in other parts of London and other cities?

I have just ordered a meat box from a local subscription service so that's something. Can do fruit & veg too. It's not cheap though & while I'm simultaneously trying to work, entertain toddler & educate the older one Id prefer to just heat up some beans. Oh well!
If I find any slots I will update on here.

I can't get one at all. I've just been to the local co-op to replace bits we've run out of and I'm dreading us having to do that regularly.
I'm pregnant so was able to go in the vulnerable hour but it still felt too risky.

I work for a supermarket . Things should calm down soon stock wise . It's lack of drivers for us at the minute . They are recruiting now . Then we can get more lorry drivers to send more stock to the stores

Does anyone know how often Tesco refresh their slots?

I have one booked for tomorrow but so much stuff on my order is out of stock that I was going to cancel it - my parents are trying to get hold of a slot so was wondering if I could cancel mine and if it "releases" immediately, they could grab it?

I can't let them use my account as DH works at Tesco and it applies the staff discount and anyone else using it is a sackable offence! I also don't seem to be able to change the address of the order either but I think the staff discount issue would still apply!

@PinkSpring I don’t thjnk it works like that unfortunately.

I normally have a couple of open orders on the go, about ten days apart. When one has arrived, I book the next but one, o e if that makes sense? Tried to book next one yesterday but nothing available until middle of April. Eventually got one when the slots opened overnight. I'm hoping the panic buyers settle down so that the best of us can shop 'normally', but I'm not holding my breath.

I have a Sainsbury's delivery pass but there's nothing for the next 3 weeks (the limit of how far ahead you can book). It's been like that for over a week now.

I figured never mind I'll use click and collect but it turns out nearest store that offers this is a good hour or more away. Hoping they sort out C&C locally because I'm happy to use that to leave delivery for people who are totally self isolating.

I'm not short of food at the moment, our local farm shop has plenty and the coop seems okay apart from bread but I would like to move to a method where one of us doesn't have to go to a busy shop and stand in queues because it defeats the purpose of social distancing.

Report

PinkSpring · 21/03/2020 09:58

@peachypetite - that's annoying. They must release the slots at some point! There is literally no point me keeping the order open as so much is out of stock. They are opening the store an hour earlier tomorrow for Tesco staff so we are going to try that

Report

moochpooch · 21/03/2020 10:00

Yes I really want to try & self isolate as I've been working in a school all last week due to workload but I've being hospitalised with pneumonia & been quite ill so want to avoid queuing in shops. Hoping things will just catch up.

I had a delivery from Sainsbury today. Most stuff was in it except washing powder. We even got paracetamol!
