What did you manage to find in the shops today/recently?

I got gin two days ago in Lidl. None today. Well there were a few weird flavoured gins, but I normally buy just plain gin so didn't buy any of the weird ones.

But...... I managed to buy a 12 pack of tissues in a pound shop (2 packets of 12 left - I got second last pack) and I got a kitchen cleaning spray - £2 for a Flash cleaning spray (a new fragrance - French soap or something ). Usually those sprays are a pound only.
That was my loot from today.

What I couldn't get was:
Pesto sauce (Lidl)
UHT milk (it's what I usually buy, as I live alone so wouldn't consume enough fresh milk to justify buying it) - Lidl
Paracetamol (2 x pound shops and Lidl)
Vit C (2 x pound shops and Lidl)
Vicks First Defence (Boots)
Pistacchio nuts (Lidl)
Toilet paper (anywhere)
An online delivery slot from any shop

I'm in North East London and went to Walthamstow.
Lidl was more empty of produce than it was yesterday. I think they haven't been re-stocking AT ALL. It's just getting progressively emptier.

I went to our local co-op ( in a rural village ) and they had most things. Got pesto and paracetamol off your list. The big supermarkets reported huge queues and shortages so local shops seem a better option.

No loo roll though

I was only popping out to the post office but I thought I would go to the local shop when I was there, I hadn’t been out in three days.
It was a lot busier than I thought it would be, I managed to get a loaf of bread, some potatoes and a bag of 18 toilet rolls (only large bags left but there was a good few on the shelf still). I didn’t need to get much else as we were getting a takeaway for tea.

On the other hand, a neighbour was getting an online shop delivered today and out of a £60 shop all she got was one bag of nappies and fabric softener.

I think it's worse in London for some reason.

Tesco was empty but they had loads of jam Swiss rolls in the cake aisle! Really long ones Grin

And loads of those tiny marshmallows to make rocky road / add to hot chocolates.

They had nothing else though. Sainsbury’s was fully stocked today apart from alcohol

Anyone got any tips for finding loo roll. Am now getting seriously worried we are going to run out. Have been into 5 or 6 shops at different times over the past week and none at all. Nearly down to the last roll 😳

I needed fresh veg to go with dinner tonight, managed to get that and some gammon steaks for dinner tomorrow. But while there I saw they had sold out of baby formula, baby wipes, toilet roll, all sanitary products and all fresh chicken.

DS developed a cough today while DH was at work at Tesco so I texted him a list to prepare for isolation. He did get yoghurts, bagels, cucumber, milk (but red instead of blue) and pudding, but he couldn't get flour or calpol.

Only thing I really needed but couldn't get was carrots. Got other veg though. No green apples but could have got red (but my children won't eat red!). No normal potatoes but got baking potatoes. Bread-different loaf.

When I was driving DDs to school, I saw plenty of people carrying loo roll, so presume a shop had had a delivery!

Yesterday, in LIDL - no carrots or onions, but plenty of avocados and aubergines (and capers and houmous, so I enjoyed my middle class shop Grin). No bread but loads and loads of plain flour, so I stocked up. No toilet roll. No longlife milk.

Today, in Sainsbury's - some onions and carrots, no quorn sausages, no oat milk (no sweat, I have oats, I can make my own) - and practically no flour at all. Conclusion: Sainsbury's customers can bake bread, LIDL customers can't Grin

I got spuds, soft fruit, pesto, tinned fruit cocktail, cream cheese (no cheddar), tortilla wraps and a bottle of calpol 6plus (last one) in Tesco express today. Oh and a packet of 4 hot cross buns (I left the other 2 packs) and some pain au chocolat dough (son’s birthday next week). As it turns out we are now quarantined for 14 days as husband has started with a cough. There was no loo roll but I have some luckily. Liquid soap was in too but I have that as well.

got potatoes, butter, newspaper, bananas, scones
no meat, milk, loo roll (not found any at all since this started yet), no tissues, milk, eggs, soap, no veg - we are self-isolating and still trying to get online delivery but we have one small local shop we can brave when it's quiet but there's never much left

Went to Morrisons and got
30 fish fingers (big box not several boxes)
Potato waffles
Breaded chicken
Jaffa cakes
2 tins of rice pudding
3 tins of custard
Bag of potatoes
Green beans
2 bags of mixed salad leaves

Sounds very unhealthy I know Blush but already have frozen veg and meat, pasta etc so these were just top up items.
