He looks like he hasn't slept for a week. I never thought the day would come when I'd feel sorry for Boris and think that Trump sounded professional Confused(in his press conference today). Everything is upside down. We're fucked, aren't we?

He is a social libertarian and you can tell he hates this massive state intervention in people’s lives. But it needs to be done.

I agree. This is no time to trust that people will do the right thing. There are simply too many who are selfish or can’t understand enough about the consequences of their actions. Or both. If you need people away from pubs, clubs, gyms then they must be closed. A lot of places have taken the initiative to do this themselves but a lot, due to having a choice, are staying open. It’s not ok.

RickOShay · 18/03/2020 20:19

How anybody can feel sorry for bloody Boris Johnson is completely beyond me. It really is.
The man is an atrocious leader. People are terrified for both financial and health reasons.

PotholeParadise · 18/03/2020 20:21

He's spent his whole life wanting to be prime minister, and daydreaming of whether he could live up to Churchill's example of leadership.

Here's his chance. No pity whatsoever from me.

I am worried for the economy and the people who are going to lose their lives. Johnson can get to fuck.

rednsparkley · 18/03/2020 20:21

Jeremy Corbyn couldn't make a solid decision if there was only one choice available 🙄

Boris is doing better than I expected (the bar was vvv low tbf)

LillianGish · 18/03/2020 20:22

Boris is all slogans and campaigning with no substance. Slogans and showmanship are useless when it comes to actually getting stuff done. I think his performance now gives a good insight into what will happen with Brexit - Brexit means Brexit and Get Brexit Done are easy to say, but rather harder to achieve. There is no slogan on earth that can fix the current crisis.

Alsohuman · 18/03/2020 20:22

He’d be able to do a much better job if his lot hadn’t cut public services to ribbons for the last ten years. Bet he’s cursing Cameron and “no magic money tree” May right now.

The experts are doing a stunning job.

alloutoffucks · 18/03/2020 20:24

He chose to be Prime Minister.
He is terrible at it.

RickOShay · 18/03/2020 20:25

@livefornaps
Thank you
I almost can’t speak for outrage Grin

NeckPainChairSearch · 18/03/2020 20:29

Maybe he's suddenly understanding why it wasn't the best idea in the world to underfund the NHS for a fucking decade.

SummersMahoosiveClipOnFringe · 18/03/2020 20:30

I think he is stepping up and the clown act has been cast aside. We are about to see a very different side to Boris.

I think he really is trying to do his best for everyone and I wouldn't want his job.

MrsDrFC · 18/03/2020 20:31

Bojo is a twonk of the highest order and needs a bloody good shake

apricotnuts · 18/03/2020 20:31

I've grown in admiration for Rishi Sunak, rather than Boris. Considering he only became Chancellor a matter of weeks ago, his delivery of the rescue package was so competent.

Just read many other European countries are offering wage protection direct to workers not loans to business.

UYScuti · 18/03/2020 20:31

which other leaders are doing better?

DorsetCamping · 18/03/2020 20:34

Zero input from Labour Jeremy Hmm

MrsExpo · 18/03/2020 20:34

Don’t normally comment on political threads, but I think he’s doing a decent job under impossible conditions. All those who are pasting him, ought to stop for a moment and ask themselves if they could do better. (I couldn’t). Labour still don’t have a credible leader and there’s literally is no one else to take the reins right now. All things considered he’s doing ok. And yes ..... he looks knackered, but who wouldn’t ....

(If you need a smile right now, I actually typed knkd above for knackered and my auto correct replaced it with “kinky” ...... Smile)

RickOShay · 18/03/2020 20:34

The Irish Taoiseach for a start

flowerycurtain · 18/03/2020 20:35

I think anyone in senior government right now deserves a medal. He must be having such a stressful time as must the chief medical officer et al.
Be kind people. Be kind.

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 20:35

Weird that Labour have practically dissolved where is the new leader it’s ridiculous

HotSauceCommittee · 18/03/2020 20:35

Lifelong labour voter here and one who knows of Boris Johnson's past conduct, but, it might be delayed, a few days after we wanted the government to take the steps, but he IS going in the right direction, pledging money for the individual rather than jumping in to shore up the likes of Richard Branson and his businesses.
I wasn't happy a few days ago, but recent pledges, I can't criticise.

RickOShay · 18/03/2020 20:35

I think I can say hand on heart that I could do a better job than Boris yes

VenusOfWillendorf · 18/03/2020 20:36

Hard to belive this time last year it was coming up to the 31st March Brexit deadline. And I was thinking Teresa May looked awful, and it was looking like the world would end in a no-deal brexit.

Certainly never thought we'd be looking back on that as the good old days!!

FoxEars · 18/03/2020 20:36

Twelve Islands

No sympathy for Boris?

How the fuck is the Coronavirus Boris' fault?

😳😳😳😳

LittleRootie · 18/03/2020 20:37

Weird that Labour have practically dissolved where is the new leader it’s ridiculous

What's that got to do with how totally useless Johnson is?

arietaparlane · 18/03/2020 20:37

He spends so much time saying 'er' and 'ah' that he manages to drag out what should be a 5 minute press conference into half an hour. Good strategy I suppose, to avoid actually saying much.

MarshaBradyo · 18/03/2020 20:38

Rookie - Why the fuck not they are pathetic maybe Keir could say something but Corbyn nope
