Our school is shut from tomorrow

Just had an email from DD large secondary school in northwest saying they will be shut from tomorrow until the Easter break - and to wait for further updates on whether they will open after Easter.

I'm presuming this is nationwide

I work in a school. Our LA emails daily to say we must stay open....

Email from my DC's school this afternoon to say they are now shut - over 50 staff ill or self-isolating.

It's a big secondary school and is an academy Trust in its own right, not in a chain, so not beholden to anyone.

My DC has A levels this summer though ☹️

The school I work at is doing a partial closure due to staff absences and lack of supply teachers available. We had to double up classes today, but that's not really practical for all year groups.

They are going to reassess the situation on Monday, and we are setting work for children sent home.

As far as possible, I'm trying to provide work for children in other years who are at home as well, but at the moment that's relatively easy because it's only Y11s who are asking for work, and I'm sending them past papers to do!

I signed up for email alerts for my local authority earlier, I've had about 10 emails so far this evening so the end is definitely nigh.
