Spain, France and now Germany (about to go) in lockdown, so when will we? And when will the schools close? I'm guessing it will be Tuesday/Wednesday time. It's looking inevitable now.

Our school is shutting early for Easter so shutting on Friday. They are trying out their online lessons on the following Monday.

I’m a teacher and my money’s on Friday. That’s when the cases (and sadly probably the deaths) will be mounting up. Then it’ll give a clear four weeks off including Easter and hopefully things will look a bit better then. Hopefully.

I really wish it was tomorrow, I’m feeling quite anxious about this and just don’t think the schools still being open is the most sensible cause of action!

I obviously can't say, but I'm pretty sure he knows what he's talking about due to his job.

Can you see why giving your source helps people to understand how credible what you are saying is?

I’m a teacher and I’ve been asked to get home learning together, however I think it’s very unlikely they’ll shut any time soon.

My guess was schools would close a week early for Easter. My guess now is that schools will close two weeks early for Easter, so Next Friday.

Teachers in the school I work on were prompted today by the HT to have work ready for pupils in case of closure. I wonder if she knows something we don't, as teachers will be pretty full on busy from Monday morning onwards and today is probably the last chance they get to sort out work for children to do at home if an announcement is made next week.

Its not obvious at all. If there's official guidance on this it would be helpful for those of us in education, as at the minute we're very much in the dark.

I think it should have been earlier though. I agree with WHO.

I really hope it's going to be Friday, I'm a 1to1 for child with severe cerebral palsy and I just at want them Home and safe and away from germs as he does catch everything going and suffers really badly with even a common cold.

I don't know if our school will stay open with skeleton staff, I'm not sure how they would choose who those people to be I myself have 4 kids who may potentially be off school

Last week I heard we’ll close on Friday. Two different senior staff told me this and also the head’s pa strongly hinted.

My friend who works at the local primary was told the same date.

I think it's unlikely in the next 2 weeks, the isolation of over 70s isn't even going to come in just yet, we will clearly see if that reduces pressure on the NHS first - I presume it isn't even under pressure yet so why would we take action yet?

I know most people are reading a lot of fake news at the moment, but the fact is our approach so far has led us to have by far the lowest infection rate in Western Europe. It isn't really hitting us yet compared to the rest of western europe, and the government doesn't plan to shut schools yet. I know lots disagree with that but that's the facts?

Isn't there a COBRA meeting Monday morning and an announcement of Tuesday? That would suggest Wednesday or Friday to me. But what do I know?

I do know there at a lot more confirmed cases on this town than are being reported, though. I don't know that many people but know the names of two people confirmed to have the virus who live very locally. So how many people have the virus and haven't been counted?

The government will have the statistics and won't want the peak to come too soon.

I think Friday they'll shut and reassess opening after Easter. It will all depend on hospital space this week.

Pretty sure all these “senior staff” and “high ups” are guessing the same as all the rest of us.

I don't think it will be for a couple of weeks yet. We've been told to prepare for remote working but since the govt. Seems to be trailing their ideas well in advance (eg. Over 70s self isolating) I'd expect this to be heavily trailed before it happens, which it hasn't been yet. I think they want to get to the Easter hols then will close till September. Just a hunch.
