He obviously doesn't. No fever, no cold and flu symptoms not even a sore throat. If he has it, then we all must given what he's presenting:

-a little tired

  • General malaise
  • Bit out of sorts
  • minor chest pain (its one of the muscles between his ribs but i don't think he believes his gp on this)

He's already a hyperchondriac but this is really pissing me off. He's checking his temperature multiple times a day and won't stop reading the bloody news.

SEND HELP.

I have a cough and the thermometer had a funny five minutes.

Then why are you ignoring official guidelines and going out, @PhilCornwall1? This is not about you. This is about anyone else you come into contact with.

AuntieMarys · 14/03/2020 10:11

I don't even own a thermometer!

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 14/03/2020 10:20

Mine too, he was working on a site with a group of Italian guys a few weeks back who have all got it now. Guy who runs the site text to let everyone know him yesterday, and dp had been in pretty close contact with them.
He had been complaining he didn't feel right for about a week, and on Thursday night he coughed all night. Didn't cough at all last night though so maybe just jumping to conclusions.

PhilCornwall1 · 14/03/2020 10:38

@BertiesLanding because I may have just used the thermometer more than just once?

RainbowSlide · 14/03/2020 10:41

🤣🤣🤣 at the Pillow of Face

You're all heroes, dealing with these eejits. Ive been practicing my 🤨 face for the next installment of "reasons i think i have it"

BertiesLanding · 14/03/2020 10:47

@PhilCornwall1 - But you are coughing, yes?

SummerHouse · 14/03/2020 11:37

Time for the DGOD Phil. Get well soon.

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 14/03/2020 13:29

We don't have the DGOD.... we have the POD - Pyjamas of doom. These were DHs fathers who died when DH was young. DH is nearly 60 so the POD are getting threadbare...I would say they say they are almost illegal.

I always know when he really poorly as POD come out.

I am convinced DHs DF died in them...DH denies this.

LoonyLunaLoo · 14/03/2020 15:51

DH has been like this all week 🙈 I came down with a cold on Thursday and carried on as normal as it was definitely a cold not Coronavirus. DH started on Sunday and immediately went out and bought all the Lemsip (we had Aldi’s own version of the capsules but he’s convinced that proper Lemsip is better 🤨). He’s worked from home all week, which he can do easily, as he’d “hate to pass it on to anyone else” and has had what I’ll now be referring to as the Hoody of Hypochondria on all week (well he’s been swapping between 2).

On Tuesday, he said to me “you just don’t understand how ill I am” I responded that I’d had a cold since Thursday and he said “have you?” FFS!

He also asked me to take his temperature but we don’t actually have a thermometer so I put my hand on his head to appease him and said he was a bit warm. So he put his “symptoms” into the 111 website which said he should self isolate (disregarding the main symptoms of a bunged up nose) and assuming he has a fever 😂.

Yesterday I had some cancellations so was working from home, as was he. He was obviously feeling a bit better as he was in an annoying mood clicking his fingers to some tune constantly and smacking me (not agressively) on the bum every time he walked past me. Every 2 minutes he was asking me to make a brew or what’s for breakfast/ lunch or if I fancied going to the shop.

I will not cope with 2 weeks of self isolation with him 🙈.

Fluffycloudland77 · 14/03/2020 15:59

My dh thinks branded lemsip is better too.

I think for that alone no jury would convict me.

GracieLouFreebushh · 14/03/2020 16:37

Are we married to the same man?! 😂

Slingsanderrors · 14/03/2020 17:12

He’s mine I tell you, mine!
Currently reporting that he’s sneezed twice today so is “a bit worried”.

I came home by train from Edinburgh last Saturday, started cold symptoms Monday, felt dreadful Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, .....lots of dossing around, watching tv in bed, feeling sorry for myself, but quietly. Better now.

He now thinks he’s caught what I had, and is making a huge fuss, wearing the DGOD, pJ’s of pain, slippers of schlepp.....and fucking milking it, texting from his bed of pain to ask me to bring him a drink.
Planning to ring the builder Monday to plan patio rebuild 😂

GracieLouFreebushh · 14/03/2020 21:40

😂

Weenurse · 15/03/2020 01:42

🤣

RainbowSlide · 15/03/2020 11:08

Instead of self isolation, he's gone online and purchased some proper end of the world prepping stuff. Im talking a backpack with a knife, adhesive tape stuff, water canteens, all kinds of crazy.. i think he's expecting the apocalypse 🤯

Slingsanderrors · 15/03/2020 11:18

Rainbowslide

Can you use the tape to isolate him into a cupboard?

AwdBovril · 15/03/2020 11:32

I laughed at reading the OP, DH asked what I was amused by & he suggested he has had it for 15 years.

Throw his Slippers Of Schlepp at him. If he doesn't buck his ideas up, you could always confiscate the cord of the DGOD & strangle him with it.

Soubriquet · 15/03/2020 12:51

I think I would be making a brand new patio by now

RainbowSlide · 16/03/2020 10:49

He finally admitted tonight that he probably doesn't in fact have cv.

VICTORY IS MINE.

(I'm in oz so it's tonight already)

RainbowSlide · 16/03/2020 10:50

How are the rest of you going with patio extension plans?? 🤣

user1333796 · 16/03/2020 11:59

He keeps seeking me out to tell me his concerns... i swear it'll be the end of us!

Haha. My DP is a massive hypochondriac and does this relentlessly. Slightest cold and he has to come and tell me he is coughing mucus, and the colour, or the consistency of his shit. There is always something wrong with him, a cold is a chest infection, anxiety is an impending heart attack. I never sympathise anymore. I always tell him I don't want to know gross details or feel his forehead. The only thing I'm dreading about this pandemic is his daily health complaints becoming even more frequent. He said yesterday 'I will definitely end up in hospital when I get it because I am in the vulnerable group'. He has mild asthma and is in his 40's. Hmm

Weenurse · 17/03/2020 06:20

Mine has decided to work from home.
He does not want to catch trains- fair enough.
His excuse is that I am a health care worker and I will probably bring it home.
He is insisting that I get tested as I may be a carrier, despite me having no symptoms and no known contact with anyone infected.
I have asked him to isolate in his man cave downstairs for the duration.

Slingsanderrors · 17/03/2020 17:02

Weenurse mine is panicking because I’m a retired nurse and he thinks I might be “called back”, thereby putting him at risk. All about him of course.
Unlikely I’ll be called back, haven’t worked in a hospital acute setting since 1978, most of my career was mental health/ community/ public health. I retired 8 years ago, and lapsed my registration 6years ago. I could probably help man a helpline......
I’m considering buying a caravan for him to self isolate in......

Weenurse · 18/03/2020 06:42

A caravan is a good idea, he can take the dog with him

Slingsanderrors · 18/03/2020 16:04

Weenurse, I’m happy to keep the dog, just want rid of the husband!
