“Israel is continuing to block vital supplies to Gaza despite agreeing to allow aid in as part of the ceasefire agreement, aid agencies warn.
Blocked supplies include food, medicines, tents, and blankets and also materials desperately needed to start rebuilding water treatment and sewage systems.
Oxfam’s policy lead for the occupied Palestinian territories, Bushra Khalidi, said, “ People are calling this a ceasefire, but it doesn’t feel like peace. It feels like it’s an intermission between tragedies.”

In an article from today, The Jerusalem Post says as early as December 2023, WHO discussed use of term ‘famine’ to pressure Israel

So, ‘famine’ was weaponised. Not difficult to guess what happened with the word ‘genocide’.

Thieren said he was shocked that the roles of perpetrator and victim were assigned from the outset of the war.

Not sure what relevance your post has to the question of why Israel is continuing to restrict aid into Gaza in contravention of both the terms of the ceasefire and it’s obligations under International Law

41 organisations operating on the ground in Gaza call on the Government of Israel to uphold its commitments under the ceasefire agreement and international law and let humanitarian aid flow freely.
Since the ceasefire began, Israeli authorities have continued to arbitrarily reject shipments of life-saving assistance into Gaza, while a restrictive new INGO registration process further delays urgent humanitarian work.

Between 10 and 21 October, 99 requests by international NGOs to deliver aid into Gaza were rejected, while six requests submitted by the UN agencies were denied. Aid denied by Israeli authorities includes tents and tarpaulins, blankets, mattresses, food and nutrition supplies, hygiene kits, sanitation materials, assistive devices, and children’s clothing, all of which should be unrestricted during the ceasefire.

Why with winter approaching not allow children’s clothing?

Because they want the children to suffer.

Yup, like 10Usernames it's punishment, easy to inflict onto people not seen as human. Inhumanity writ large.

The same reason they blocked formula from entering.

EUObserver:
Israeli authorities have rejected 94 percent of aid delivery requests from international relief organisations during the first two weeks of the current ceasefire, leaving €43m worth of critical supplies stranded at border crossings, according to 41 humanitarian groups working in Gaza.

World Court: Israel Needs to Allow UN Aid into Gaza

“(The Hague) – Israel should comply with its obligation to cooperate with the United Nations by ensuring the unhindered provision of essential aid to Palestinians in the Occupied Palestinian Territory (OPT), as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) ruled in an October 22, 2025 advisory opinion, Human Rights Watch said today.
The court concluded that Israel’s allegations that the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) lacks impartiality is unfounded and that Israel’s obstruction of the agency’s critical work is at odds with international law.
“The International Court of Justice made clear that Israel should end its campaign to dismantle UNRWA and stop using starvation of civilians as a weapon of war,” said Balkees Jarrah, acting Middle East and North Africa director at Human Rights Watch. “Palestinians will continue to suffer and die unless Israel lifts its unlawful blockade and restores electricity, water, and health care. It’s critical for Israel’s allies to press the government to immediately permit unhindered UNRWA aid.”

Reported today ; “Israel is breaching international law by continuing to impose restrictions on aid flows into Gaza, where the population remains critically short of food and life-saving goods as winter sets in, a senior official at the UN agency for Palestinian refugees has said.

In an interview during a recent visit to Brussels, Natalie Boucly, an Unrwa deputy commissioner general, said the whole world – including the EU and US – needed to increase the pressure on Israel’s government to ensure the unrestricted flow of aid into Gaza.”

Rain has arrived in Gaza , the makeshift tents are flooding and sewage is coming into them. Am outbreak of disease and illness is inevitable leading to more fatalities. Bedding and clothing is soaked and the temperature is dropping. The conditions there are beyond horrendous and yet not all of the supplies for shelter are being allowed in. It is inhumane to allow this to continue.

According to Unicef figures, 9,300 children were treated for severe acute malnutrition in October. That is significantly less than the peak of 14,000 children in August, but much more than the child malnutrition rate during the previous ceasefire in February and March of this year.

“It’s still a shockingly high number,” Ingram said, briefing journalists by video from Gaza.

In October, about 8,300 pregnant and breastfeeding women were also hospitalised for acute malnutrition.

“This pattern is a grave warning and it will likely result in low birthweight babies being born in the Gaza Strip for months to come,” Ingram added.

“This is not over. Generations of families, including those being born now into this ceasefire, have been forever altered by what was inflicted upon them.”

I was reading an article yesterday or the day before about Israels restricted items. They still won't let in pencils and paper to help children can restart their schooling. It's little things like that that really show the Israeli governments true colours, it let's you know that Israel are targeting children, they actively want these children to be disadvantaged.

I know it was ever thus and Israel have long targeted education but it's just really sad that after all that has happened in the past 2 years they still want the cycle of abuse to continue.

thingsarelookingupfornigel · 09/12/2025 20:18

They are about to have the storms that have passed through Greece and Cyprus. I hope the shelters and tents have been allowed. Otherwise it’s just inhumane.
