Israel Hasn’t Released Any of the Child Hostages it Has Kidnapped

Israel hasn't released any of the child hostages it has kidnapped. Israel still holds 323 Palestinian children- Defense for Children International – Palestine (DCIP). As of March 31, 2025, the Israel Prison Service reported that 323 Palestinian children were detained in Israeli prisons. Of these, 119 children (37%) were held in administrative detention without charge or trial- the highest number and proportion on record since DCIP began monitoring these figures in 2008.

I also wanted to highlight some concerning facts about Palestinian children in Israeli detention, based on verified reports from human rights organisations.

  • As of June 2025, around 360 Palestinian children are being held in Israeli prisons. About 41% are in administrative detention, meaning they’re held without charge or trial — the highest proportion recorded since 2008 (DCI-Palestine).
  • Many face serious abuse: 86% report being beaten, 69% subjected to strip searches, and 42% sustained injuries during arrest (Save the Children).
  • Allegations include verbal abuse, threats, and physical and psychological violence (DCI-Palestine).
  • The UN has raised serious concerns about ill-treatment and torture in detention facilities, including Sde Teiman (OHCHR).

These children are entitled to protection under international law, yet reports show repeated violations of their rights.

I don’t understand this forum. Is it just propaganda? I am devastated. It’s history repeating itself.,I am terrified that we will be ethnically cleansed once more like we were from Yemen who used these EXACT techniques of lies and false information to get rid of Jews and Hindus

There's a lot of people wise to it now, and pushing back, and supporting you. And the others keep showing themselves up, like that awful doctor, and ordinary people see it.

But I don't equate the Israeli government with British Jews at all.
It's obviously awful if British Jews are feeling unsafe, and the increase in antisemitism is dreadful.
But, the Israeli government, supported by western governments, is extremely right-wing and racist, and does treat Palestinians appallingly. I make a clear distinction between the government and the people, whom I'm guessing have a diverse range of views. When I'm critical of the Israeli authorities, I'm honestly not even remotely relating them to British Jews, or Jews around the world at all. I repudiate antisemitism totally.
It's really difficult though, if Israel is doing something wrong and we can't criticise them for fear of being labelled antisemitic. I think most people criticising Israel aren't antisemitic. But, of course there are some, and I'd be the first to say how wrong that is.
I can criticise Israel and call out antisemitism at the same time, and I do.
If I've ever not worded any of my posts in a way that doesn't make that clear, then I'm truly sorry. Please know, if you ever read my posts, that my criticism of Israel is about the Israeli authorities, not the entire population, and never ever non-Israeli Jews. I take as I find.

Thanks for the post. There are so many horrors in this situation, that it's hard to follow or even comprehend. When will the world be allowed into Gaza, to see the full horror of the genocide.

This is it. International journalists need to be allowed in, and to report impartially.

Well it’s pretty obvious isn’t it - there is a difference between throwing a stone and throwing a 2kg rock at a persons head killing them. One is actual murder. As I mentioned 41% of the Palestinian children have been held without charge, ie they have committed no crimes. But this case that you are highlighting a case where 5 Israeli settlers murdered a Palestinian women, 4 were released within days and the other was placed under house arrest and eventually released as well. Interesting that Israeli teens go free after murdering someone but countless Palestinians are imprisoned without any charges filed.

You’re quite happy to believe with zero evidence that the Palestinian youths were just flinging pebbles and couldn’t possibly have been doing something similar to the child in the link?

think you may need to employ a bit more critical thinking

Why don’t they let them go home?

Comedycook · 20/10/2025 06:44

Obviously the word child is emotive...but as pp have pointed out, this isn't a load of four year olds. And remember the age of criminal responsibility in the UK is 10...and we have children in prison in the UK. Teens can and do get arrested and imprisoned all over the world.

Slightyamusedandsilly · 20/10/2025 06:50

Resolution isn't Israel's aim.

TomeTome · 20/10/2025 06:50

Civilised people do not imprison others without trial and treat children very very differently to adults. The term “child” is understood to mean under 18 and I don’t think pointing out 14 year olds can be tall is news to anyone. They are however still children.

Israel is civilised and you believe lies so easily.

TomeTome · 20/10/2025 06:55

Nothing Israel has done seems at all civilised or admirable to me. Perhaps it is you who “believes lies”?

RingoJuice · 20/10/2025 06:56

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/10/2025 22:40

What the fuck has a child’s height to do with anything?
Ate you seriously suggesting that tall 14 year old children aren’t children?

My son was 5ft 11 at 14. At 22 he is a 6ft 5 adult. He was very much still a child at 14.

Your post is disgraceful.

We have had ‘children’ rape and murder people in the US at that age. If you do the crime, then you must be held and punished for the safety of others. Age alone doesn’t mean anything, the details of their case are more relevant.

To the cost of the eradication of a whole race of people?

Boomboombo · 20/10/2025 07:00

And people care more about dead Israelis being returned than alive children. What about their parents needing peace?

Also, check out how many dead Palestinian children Israel has in freezers from years and years ago that they haven’t returned to their parents.

When an Israeli IDF soldier does something despicable people like you say oh they’re only teens, kids messing about. They are traumatised from the ‘war’. But when actual Palestinian children are held for no reason all of a sudden they are adult equivalent. Double standards and emotive language indeed.

I’m glad more people are waking up to this bullshit.

I just searched this forum for a post about those poor Bibas babies who were kidnapped with their mother, sold to Islamic jihad, murdered with their hands and sent home in boxes. Nothing. You lot don’t care about children. Or maybe it’s only Jewish and Israeli children you don’t care about???

Where on earth is the “eradication of a whole race of people” happening?

The Palestinian population has grown by over ninefold since 1948....if Israel are trying to eradicate the Palestinians they are doing a terrible job of it.

Exactly.
Plus, around two million Palestinian Arabs live in Israel.
They can vote in national elections, hold public office, and are represented in the Knesset.
Is Israel trying to eradicate them too?

Boomboombo · 20/10/2025 07:28

No it’s part of Israeli policy. It’s called mowing the lawn. Now imagine how much it would’ve grown if Israel was not killing them? Oh and if they weren’t kicked out of their house and their land. I bet it would be a lot higher.

Well you are right. The Palestinian Islamists do want to eradicate Jews from Israel.
Fortunately that is never going to happen.

If only they put the same amount of enthusiasm into building a better society for their people.
