Just announced

I don’t think Israel can continue as it was before the slaughter so there will have to be huge changes to how things operate in that region. I don’t know anyone who feels about Israelis as they did before the genocide and I doubt most Israelis feel the same. It is a terrible time for the world.

I am absolutely not comparing what’s happening in Gaza and the Holocaust but I do think Germany offers a good example of how a nation can come to terms with its actions. Israel will never be the same, as will most of the rest of the Middle East but I sincerely hope what comes one day will be better than what came before.

The Hamas leadership has been decapitated, so I’m not sure why you make that comment.

I would imagine Israel are mopping up, for want of a better expression.

Has Hamas gone anywhere? Have they been defeated? Have they given up power? Have they been forced out of Gaza? Just a few reasons I might make that comment.

Have you seen how the German police are brutally attacking protestors against the genocide?

I just find comments like this so short sighted.
What do you think is going to happen to the hundreds of thousands of children and young people affected by Israel killing their family members, displacing them and bombing their homes?
You think they’ll just sit and not want revenge?

All Israel has done is ensure this murderous bullshit carries on for another fifty years.

Pretty heartless to speak about the process of going after the remainder of Hamas fighters as “mopping up!”

Mopping up that is killing many more civilians- half of whom are children, displacing a million people, and destroying remaining infrastructure.

I heard the Hamas run health ministry is no longer operational- so we don’t know how many more 100s/1000s have been killed.

Israel can’t have it both ways- either their destruction of Gaza has not led to the “decapitation” of Hamas, or it has, but they don’t care about the fact that their continued action may be disproportionate in the face of an enemy that has been significantly weakened and an ongoing humanitarian crisis.

The IDF has previously suggested all military goals have been accomplished.

Stripes56 · 18/09/2025 22:51

Smotrich has given a hint what the continued destruction of a Gaza and failure to agree to a ceasefire has been about- ethnic cleansing and further annexation of Palestinian land.

“We've done the demolition phase... Now we need to build," he said.”

How does Starmer’s recognition of a Palestinian state, square with his promise to reduce immigration?

One rather suspects that the two are not compatible.

GabrielsOboe · 22/09/2025 09:47

Israel must not annex West Bank in response to recognition, says Cooper.

Well, that’s Tel Aviv told, isn’t it?

itsnotveryfriendlyhereisit · 22/09/2025 10:20

Lets just hope that sanctions will follow.

Yep. That should stop the slaughter of thousands of innocent civilians.

I have. It doesn’t make sense.

Netanyahus speech at the UN today. He has no intention of allowing any form of a Palestinian state .

Hamas needs to surrender.
With the war over Israelis I hope will vote away from BN et al.
New leadership commited to 2ss and peace on both sides.

Its the only path I see.

I agree with you on all these points.

I can't see Netanyahu giving up power easily though , himself and Trump are definitely in quite similar.

The scariest bit of this for me is that Israel and the US clapped alone.

And the US denied the Palestinian officials visas.

Very grim stuff from the US.

Ellen2shoes · 26/09/2025 23:13

Meanwhile, hundreds of Palestinians are being massacred every day. Daily atrocities not mentioned on mainstream news at 10 on the BBC or ITV. Is this expected to be perceived as normality now ?? Instead we have endless repetitive footage of Trump failing to get up the escalator, or rambling on incoherently. Why is this the news?

Thing is I can’t see Hamas giving up power either. Surely with nothing but rubble and dust to rule over they would have left long before now if they were going to?

Because ‘Epstein files’, that’s why.

Edited

Have you read Hamas ceasefire proposal where by they say they will give up power whilst interim government is put into place for Gaza? During this time measures could also be taken that Hamas don’t get further funding.

Kakeandkake · 29/09/2025 12:09

More genocidal and ethnic cleansing rhetoric from the psycho Israeli government.
