I'm an Orthodox Christian. It has just occurred to me that we might lose all of our sacred places in the Holy Land if this hostility by israel continues.

What does it mean?

You actually don't know? It's not a very obscure word.

Did you know several members of kibbutz Nir Oz were peace activists who used to.volunteer for Road to Recovery, a charity that transported Palestinians in need of medical care? On 7 October Hamas invadrd the kibbutz, murdered and kidnapped many of them. Why would Israel evacuate their enemies to Israel?

Well at least you are honest that you see every Palestinian civilian as the enemy. You have given up the notion that they are not being targeted so.

Their last post is a reference to John 15:20 which reads, "Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours."

Ai Summary:
This verse, part of Jesus' discourse with his disciples, emphasizes that as his followers, they should expect similar treatment to what he experienced. Specifically, it highlights two possible responses from the world: persecution and obedience.

The first part, "If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you," indicates that those who reject Jesus and his teachings will also reject his followers. This is because the disciples are representing Jesus and his message.

The second part, "If they kept my word, they will also keep yours," suggests that those who accept Jesus and his teachings will also accept his disciples and their message.

Essentially, John 15:20 serves as a reminder that discipleship comes with both potential rejection and potential acceptance, mirroring the experience of Jesus himself. It encourages believers to remain steadfast in their faith and to not be surprised by the world's response, whether positive or negative.

I am not going to engage with you Mabari, as it is not in good faith.

I was just looking it up there I'm not sure if the school was hit but the convent was in Dec 2023 killing two.

The church was a shelter for all religions including 50 Muslim families with disabled children.

Yes in 2024. I can't paste the link for some reason. A few days after a UN school was bombed.

I know what it means. I fail to see what was in those videos that was antisemitic. I saw survival, relief, love, worry. A load of human emotions.

How did you get Antisemitic from them?

Schools and Churches, just another day for the "most moral army in the world".

YourOnMute · 18/07/2025 22:35

I don't have it to hand but I think approx 4 churches and over 1000 mosques have been attacked. Bombed, air strike. Of course civilians would be sheltering in them all.
(Not including schools, hospitals, shops, pharmacies, clinics, houses, flats, playgrounds and now tents).

It also has a pair ting of Jesus's body next to a picture of an injured child in Gaza. With the caption "Golgotha 2000 years ago & Gaza yesterday". The implications is clear on who the persecutors in question are meant to be, especially with all their posts shouting about "Jewish extremism" and how wrong Judaism is and how October 7th was a prison uprising.

But you'd rather listen to what the Mecha Hitler AI says I suppose.

The antisemitic posts. They're not hard to find.

TooBigForMyBoots · 18/07/2025 22:54

What are you seeing that is antisemitic?

I know what it means, but you seem to be extending it to Christianity as a whole here. Happy to be mistaken though.

To me that says that Jesus's suffering and the suffering of civilians in Gaza are the same. As a Christian (Catholic) the universal nature of the suffering of Jesus is an extremely important aspect of our faith. As Jesus suffered so we should think of all people suffering. It is to expand oour humanity, not limit it.
Apologies but as I understand it you are reading antisemitism when none is intended.

Yeah, it's not like the Jews killed Jesus thing has been thrown around for the past 2000 years or anything...

Mabiri · 18/07/2025 23:14

Anyway, they're now talking about how their were no rapes on October 7th and it was just a way to manufacture consent for the final solution. But I suppose that's fine too.

It's a bog standard antisemitic tropes. "Jews killed Jesus and they're still doing it". Old as the hills. And it's not the only one.

Not according to plenty antisemites...

Fantabulousauras · 18/07/2025 23:21

Horrible

YourOnMute · 18/07/2025 23:21

The Romans did kill Jesus.
I understand that Jewish people being accused of Jesus is hurtful and wrong. But that is not the case here, as I've explained. I'm sure someone with a better understanding of theology can explain it better than I.

So according to you, the definition of Antisemitic now extends to being a 21st century Christian and Churches quoting the gospels on the internet?
