This is a brilliant article.

This will be taught in schools one day and our grandkids will ask us but what did you do when you knew this was happening?

What did you do during the genocide in Gaza? | Arwa Mahdawi

When future generations read about Gaza with horror and wonder how we allowed a livestreamed genocide to happen, what will you say?

I know quite a few 'hard-core Christian zionists' in America and I can tell you I've never ever spoken to one who supports genocide... have you?
In fact, I can honestly say I've never met anyone who supports genocide despite constantly being told on here that I support genocide.

When people support Israel's indiscriminate bombing of Gaza and excuse their starvation and massacres, then they support the genocide whether they will openly admit it or not.

Ikr I had no idea there was a name for people who say 'oh look, that's Israel'.
I'm not a big fan of expansionism because that causes all sorts of issues (looking at you Russia & China - not that you give a shit). Though I can see that national security is a massive issue when your neighbours and your neighbours' neighbours keep trying to wipe you off the map.
I do get hacked off with those making life difficult for innocent people in my own country and getting a bit over excited and accidentally supporting terrorists. Oops!

I initially supported Israel's just war against Hamas. I have increasing doubts but still think Hamas needs to be gotten rid of.
I know from studying various conflicts that starvation often becomes a problem, along with many other extremely poor health outcomes such as disease etc.
I know civilians die in wars, frequently in awful circumstances. Thats why war should almost always be avoided.
Am I a genocide supporter?

I didn't minimise the hatred of Jewish people.. I clearly didnt. You are clearly trying to put words into my mouth.

And dont even try to tell me what is an acceptable answer. You seeing antisemitism where there is none is your problem and I'm not about to make it mine.
So this is my last reply to you, whether you accept it or not.

You said, your words 'I genuinely dont think people hate jews as much as some posters here think'.

Ridiculous.

There's more than pointing out Israel on a map for certain Christian zionists who believe that Jews must be in Israel for the second coming to occur and therefore will back Israeli action no matter what they do even if it is supporting the current genocide.

You should ask yourself that, not me.

And thats a ridiculous oversimplification of christian zionism.

Do you support Israel withholding aid from innocent Palestinians?
Do you support the bombing that causes countless Palestinian deaths?

What do you mean by increasing doubts? Doubts about what?

Why dont you go first? You still havent answered my original question. I asked quite a few posts ago. I told you my thoughts. You tell me, am I a genocide supporter?

Why are you goading people? What's the objective? Someone says you are a genocide supporter, you will rebuke, back to square one

No, I'm genuinely interested to know if this poster thinks I'm a genocide supporter, that's it.
You could equally argue she's loading me... I don't mind, its an internet forum. Feel free to go elsewhere.

You won't get a straight answer out of them because the truth is, your thought processes are reasonable and you don't come across like you support genocide.

All your points sound reasonable:
I initially supported Israel's just war against Hamas. I have increasing doubts but still think Hamas needs to be gotten rid of.
I know from studying various conflicts that starvation often becomes a problem, along with many other extremely poor health outcomes such as disease etc.
I know civilians die in wars, frequently in awful circumstances. Thats why war should almost always be avoided.

But in their minds you (and me and all pro Israel people on here) are reduced to genocide supporters because we dare to have a different opinion to them.

Plenty of people from all backgrounds. Do you know how many hard-core Christian zionists exist in America who support Israel and this genocide?

What’s wrong with a Zionist supporting Israel?

Jujujudo · 26/05/2025 14:39

MummytoE · 26/05/2025 12:23

I stood up for Palestine online, in real life, boycotted Israeli products, wrote to my representatives and attended protests. In fact I attended my first protest over 18 years ago. Explain that one if it started on 7/10/23 eh??

Why would you boycott products? Is taking away the livelihood of innocent civilians a humanitarian thing to do? You’re not giving money to Netanyahu by buying Israeli products! You’re just punishing Israelis for the actions of their government, and that doesn’t make any sense. I mean, if you boycott Russian products, Chinese products, American products then I’d see your pattern of activism, but by denying hardworking citizens of a country their livelihood because you don’t like their government is just targeting innocents. It’s like saying I’ll never support any Muslim business because there was a terror attack in Pakistan. Anyway I doubt you actually managed to boycott Israeli products since I presume you use a smartphone, take medication and need GPS….

Do Israelis not pay taxes then?

It’s like saying I’ll never support any Muslim business because there was a terror attack in Pakistan.

No, the equivalent to your post would be saying I'll never support any Jewish business because of Israels attempted ethnic cleansing and illegal occupation. Believe it or not many Muslims have never been anywhere near Pakistan.

Boycotting Israeli products is very different to boycotting products produced by all Jewish people. That you chose the example you did is quite revealing really.

Odras · 26/05/2025 15:18

It really isn’t the same. Can you not see that?
I personally avoid products related the the occupied territories rather than all Israeli products. But I can see the difference between what she’s saying and what you are saying.

Do you think boycotts against South African products during apartheid was anti white people ?

Revealing of what? Ah, I see! Because I’m Jewish then I must be Islamophobic.. I get it.
