US confirms plan for private firms to deliver Gaza aid despite UN alarm

Twiglets1 · 10/05/2025 06:12

The US has confirmed that a new system for providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza through private companies is being prepared, as Israel's blockade continues for a third month.

US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee said "distribution centres" protected by security contractors would provide food and other supplies to over a million people initially, as part of an effort to prevent Hamas stealing aid.

He denied Israel would take part in aid delivery or distribution, but said its forces would secure the centres' perimeters.

It comes as details emerged about the controversial plan, which UN agencies have reiterated they will not co-operate with because it appears to "weaponize" aid.

They work fine for me? How strange. I suppose others will be able to load them or not, and draw their own conclusions.

Well perhaps there is verified footage on a reputable journalistic website?
my system won’t load sites that have malware on them.

The JP It may be usually credible news but that is a nonsense headline

GHF updates on aid distribution success, debunks Hamas propaganda

It doesn’t “debunk” anything. GHF are in cahoots with the Israeli administration. They are not an independent entity.

I personally don’t think there is enough evidence to say what has happened here. It’d plausibly Hamas, plausible to be another armed groups and plausibly the IDF. We may never know.

This has been covered already.

UK sources like the Guardian, Sky News and even the BBC in their initial reports just reported the information that had been given by the Hamas-backed health ministry. They didn't question whether it was biased or not and of course it is biased as it is run by Hamas.

They didn't wait until they could get information from the GHF or the IDF who were doing an internal investigation. They reported it as fact that the attack was committed by the IDF or GHF staff.

Sources who at least try to report things more neutrally like the BBC have changed their headlines now to acknowledge that the IDF and GHF have denied the accusations. For example, a recent BBC headline was Israeli military denies firing at civilians after Hamas-run health ministry says 31 killed.

This is actually incorrect, there was countless survivors testimony, Doctors and Aid workers - there is countless footage of the aftermath of the IDF Aid Distribution massacre. If 200+ people testified that the bullets and shrapnel embedded in their bodies were caused by being shot by a particular group that would be more than sufficient evidence for any judge or jury!

The BBC news last night showed multiple videos from Gaza in the aftermath of the massacre - multiple dead bodies, hospitals over whelmed with the injured, so much grief, pain and suffering. I am not sure if those of you in Israel and the US can access the BBC iplayer so I have typed up a few extracts from the newsreel.

It opens with a body being taken through a crowd, people doubled over with grief particularly two elderly women who are prevented from going with the body. The news reporter voiceover says:

They left their tents last night because their stomachs were empty. How much more painful to nurse an empty heart.

By dawn Gaza’s Nasa hospital was inundated with casualties - hungry people shot near Rafa as they waited for an Israeli backed distribution centre to open”

It then cuts to a crowd of mostly underweight people who look absolutely detroyed with grief. A thin elderly man sitting on the ground sounds broken as he says:

“Let the whole world see what the Israelis and America are doing to us. They are lying. They say they give us aid and they kill us. They were shelling us and shooting at us.”

The reporter says ”Doctors described a tsunami of casualties this morning. Many with gun shot and shrapnel wounds”.

A Doctor is interviewed and says “These are all civilian casualties that were asked to go to an aid centre to collect food and ended up presenting with gunshot wounds, shrapnel wounds … most of them are critical. Some of them arrived dead on arrival because of severe, targeted gunshot wounds to the head and the thorax.”

It ends with “Israel’s critics say Israel is using hunger as a weapon of war but even by those with weapons themselves Gaza’s hungry are being treated as a threat.”

The section on Gaza is from 13:43, it will expire at 10.20pm tonight!

They work fine for me too and my conclusion is that they prove diddly squat.

They are unverified videos on X. It’s not proof of anything. They could be looting aid, they could be guarding aid, it could be taken years ago. It could even be in a different place.

I don’t doubt that Hamas have been looting aid though. They have form for this. But blocking aid is always wrong. And this non independent foundation is just a tool to control the population.

BBC Verify: Claim graphic video is linked to aid distribution site in Gaza is incorrect

As part of our investigation into the reported shootings yesterday morning near an aid distribution site in Rafah, southern Gaza, we've reviewed a graphic video - which has been seen 134,000 times in one X post alone - which some claim shows the incident.

In the footage, showing the apparent immediate aftermath of a strike, dust clouds are visible as well as bodies lying on the ground - some motionless and bloodied.

It was posted with a caption by an Al Jazeera journalist stating: "New footage reveals the horrific massacre committed by Israeli forces near a US aid distribution site in southern Gaza."

We have geolocated the clip to a spot in Khan Younis about 4.5km (2.8 miles) from the nearest aid distribution point. The direction of shadows suggests it was filmed in the evening, not the morning, which doesn't match accounts of the Rafah shootings.

While verifying the clip, a local journalist who filmed another video of the same scene confirmed to us that the events pictured are unrelated to any aid distribution site, and occurred yesterday evening after 19:00 local time (16:00 GMT).

The circumstances of this strike are unclear. The Israel Defense Forces has been approached for comment.

They say in a video further down that the big complication is that there were two separate incidents where people were murdered in the space of a day. They said that earlier in the conflict they would use landmarks to work out the location but it was much harder to do this because the landmarks have all been destroyed. It seems they struggled to verify the location of the video in question. They have approached IDF for comment about the second massacre but have heard nothing back.

There are quite a lot of other videos that were from the IDF Aid Distribution massacre - they actually showed some on the BBC news!

Al Jazeera have been completely discredited as a news sources in my opinion @RandomWordsThrownTogether they really do just seem to repeat whatever lies Hamas puts out with no attempt to understand the truth.

BBC Verify do indeed mention the complication of there appearing to have been 2 separate incidents on the same day. But the fact is - they have discredited at least one of the incidents (the main one at Rafah that people have been talking about). Hamas reports said it happened outside at aid centre in Rafah at around 3am. BBC Verify find instead that the images show the aftermath of an attack that during an evening and no where near an aid distribution centre (2.8 miles away). Given that Hamas were lying about the circumstances of that incident (shock!) it is at least possible that they were also lying about the circumstances of the second incident. It's still a war zone so there are attacks going on all the time. But how typical that Hamas would try to link them with aid distribution centres, the very ones that threaten one of their main income streams.

BBC Verfify correct news stories that other media put out - even the main BBC. Because unlike the others they don't just report them they investigate them for the truth.

GHF says no incidents today at Gaza aid distribution site; IDF probing injuries outside facility

Aid distribution this morning in southern Gaza’s Rafah passed without incident, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, the US- and Israel-backed body in charge of the aid distribution, says in a statement.

In an update a short while ago, nearly three hours after an distribution site in Rafah opened, GHF says it handed out “21 truckloads of food this morning, totaling 20,160 boxes.”

“While the aid distribution was conducted safely and without incident at our site today, we understand that IDF is investigating whether a number of civilians were injured after moving beyond the designated safe corridor and into a closed military zone,” GHF says, referring to Palestinian media reports of casualties this morning.

“This was an area well beyond our secure distribution site and operations area. We recognize the difficult nature of the situation and advise all civilians to remain in the safe corridor when traveling to our distribution sites,” GHF adds.

The incident today according to this report was half a kilometre away. That's a very very short distance to be saying it was "well beyond the distribution area" especially with large volumes of people.

At least 15 people killed as Israeli troops open fire near aid distribution point in Gaza

The Israeli army has said its troops fired on “suspects” who moved towards them.

This is the third day in a row that Palestinians have been killed whilst trying to get aid. How many more will be killed whilst the IDF continue to deny it? At some point as it usually does, there lies will be exposed.

Yes I believe the Times of Israel as they seem to be a reputable source and don’t just repeat things that Hamas say ( like Al Jazeera do) but report too what the IDF & GHF say about incidents. They don’t blindly believe what the IDF & GHF say either but they do report what they say. Different versions of the same incident show us that we can’t know for sure what happened so should keep an open mind.

Most of the people on this board only post things that are anti Israel so it’s good to have some balance don’t you think?

I expect nothing you post is in favour of Israel but that doesn’t make the threads you post on meaningless to me. Still, if this thread is meaningless to you then you are free to stop reading it.
