‘Such action would “liquidate the Palestinian cause”. In other words Egypt has admitted that it wants to use Palestinian civilians as weapons against Israel because that is what the Palestinian cause is - the destruction of Israel.’

Why are the people insisting that there is an in going genocide in Gaza, and purport to care about the Palestinian people, not shouting from the rooftops, protesting and marching about this?

Innocent civilians, including children, are being killed in a war everyday!

Isn’t it normal practice for civilians fleeing war zones to be granted refuge in nearby safe countries?

Remember Egypt illegally occupied Gaza from 1948 to 1967. In that time there were no calls for a Palestinian state.

Yasser Arafat, the most famous Palestinian, and founder of Fatah, a paramilitary organisation which sought to replace Israel with a Palestinian state, was an Egyptian who fought alongside the Muslim Brotherhood in the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, started on the same day Israel declared itself an independent state.

Richard Kemp is a retired British Army Colonel awarded the MBE, CBE and Queen’s Commendation for Bravery for service as a commander in the UN Protection Force in Bosnia. He was an infantry battalion commander serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and Northern Ireland, as well as working for COBRA during the 2005 London bombings and the kidnappings of British nationals in Iraq and Afghanistan so he knows about bit about terrorist warfare.

No countries want Palestinians. Countries that have had previous dealings with them are bloody terrified of them.

rather than asking why other countries won’t take them shouldn’t you be questioning why they’re being forced to leave . Why nearly a million were displaced in 1948 and many more since then or do colonisers think their lives are worth so much more that the native population should just up and leave and the neighbouring countries absorb them . Where’s the shock at the fact that so many Palestinians have been displaced forcefully.

Millions of refugees the world over have had to flee their homes due to war through past and present history. It is a sad fact of war.

What makes the Palestinians any different?

You seem to have missed that some Gazans want to leave voluntarily, not through force. That was what this thread was referring to.

You could also ask why it is only Palestinians who claim perpetual refugee status passing down from generation to generation, still live in refugee camps in Palestinian Authority controlled areas, and are still classed as refugees even after they settle in other countries.

Palestinians are constantly being thrown out of their homes by settlers . I’m the granddaughter of a refugee who never wanted to leave the land she was forced to flee and wanted to go back until her dying day so unfortunately I don’t share your sentiment. I also know from my brave grandma that a lot of what you read is not the truth and that it’s the powers above that force division. It’s very easy for you say in your cosy home to sit and speculate about what others should do. Many Syrians I know that were forced to flee as refugees have now gone back so what your saying is simply not true

My post was quite clearly about Gazans in Gaza who want to leave a war zone voluntarily. It’s in the thread title.

I didn’t mention anything about them never going back.

What I said in my last paragraph is a fact though. Not sentiment.

If the situation was not so dire, your post is almost funny in its selective interpretation of facts and convoluted reasoning to distract attention from IDF war crimes. Do you get fed this stuff from your SM?

The issue they don’t want extinguished is the rights of Palestinians and is a view supported throughout ME.

« Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatti emphasized the centrality of the Palestinian cause to the Islamic world and the importance of unity in facing attempts to liquidate the issue and extinguish the hopes of the Palestinian people in recovering their homeland, through acts aimed at their displacement and the annexation and occupation of their territories. »

»He emphasized that this is a plan that preserves the Palestinian people's right to rebuild Gaza, maintains their right to stay on their land, and simultaneously addresses the catastrophic conditions in the Gaza Strip resulting from the Israeli war. »

Egypt supports 2 state solution before you caste further doubts

Sadly this is the result of generations of indoctrination and being used as expendable pawns in a religious war against Jews.

It is an abomination that this has been supported for so long, especially by so many so called humanitarian agencies, including the UN, and Western useful idiots.

Shame on all of them.

It is sad that neighbouring safe countries are not offering to take Palestinian refugees. It is definitely what you would expect in a war zone.

You are right - it is sad. But the blame still lies with Israel in destroying their land and making it uninhabitable.

MissyB1 · 08/04/2025 09:08

Palestinians only want to leave because Israel are carrying out a genocide. No Palestinians should be so terrified for their lives that have to become refugees in a foreign land, they should have their own safe sovereign land. And no that does not mean erasing Israel.

PurpleChrayn · 08/04/2025 09:30

If there’s no way to blame the Jews nobody is interested.

Palestinians are already refugees, IN Palestine. They even have an association specifically to keep them that way. It’s called UNWRA. So how does that work?

It’s time people started to realise that the Palestinian project has been a very, very long game to discredit and destroy the Jewish people.

No, but that they have been used for generations as expendable pawns to fight a religious battle against Israel should offend everyone though surely?

What offends me (enormously) is the amount of people who defend a genocide.

CrunchyKnees · 08/04/2025 14:51

Hmm, I think a terrorist organisation planning in advance to, and then making false claims of, genocide when they’ve actually committed a genocide themselves, is (enormously) offensive too, in fact absolutely sickening.

The people who repeat those false claims enormously offend me too.

The Countries are terrified of what happens when they allow the refugees in and are accused of harbouring terrorists.

"Voluntarily leaving" is also a bit of a stretch, I mean its technically correct but its more like leaving the forest because its on fire.

Perhaps the UK should be offering sanctuary to all those nice Palestinians, like we did with Ukrainians. What could possibly go wrong?

Perhaps the UK should condemn Israel like it does Russia?

If you could forgo the temptation to equate Palestinian with terrorist then perhaps you wouldn't sound like a racist?

MissyB1 · 08/04/2025 16:19

Russian invaded a sovereign country in an act of aggression.

Israel entered a terrorist enclave in response to an invasion, acts of unparalleled atrocities and cold blooded murder on its civilians, as well as hundreds of civilians, including children, babies and murdered bodies, being taken hostage. 59 of which are still being held today.

Just a gentle reminder of that. .

Don’t really see the comparison.

Obviously you do though.

Perhaps you can explain why you think it’s comparable?

The Palestinians elected a terrorist organisation to govern them. The temptation to equate them with terrorists is just too obvious. Is it racist to point that out?
