This is the first time that Israel and Hamas have been included on this list, joining the ranks of Russia, the Islamic State, al-Qaeda, Boko Haram, Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, Somalia, Yemen and Syria. The allegations against Israel mean that it is believed to be the first democratic country included on the list.

That's exactly how Israel supporters respond to the atrocities that Israel commits, I particularly see a lot of it didn't happen, a lot of it wasn't that bad, it wasn't Israel's fault (it was Hamas's fault for using children as human shields somehow) and a hell of a lot of the Palestinians deserve it (I've seen 'FAFO' far to many times).

Do they just kill children? Surely they eat them too, or drink their blood, or something. I mean, it's clear from other MN threads that they absolutely welcomed, and possibly staged, the pogrom of 7 October so that they could get their greedy Jewish hands on all that extra real estate. The list is intended to name and shame parties to conflicts in the hope of deterring violence against children. I can't see why anyone would have an issue with that, we would want people to speak out it it were our children.

I suspect the poster may be interpreting the thread and presumably the opinions of the experts who decided to include Israel on the list, as feeding in to an antisemitic trope.

There have been antisemitic false accusations of blood sacrifice and child killing for many, many years, which is of course horrible. It is part of the reason why reports of crimes against children need to be carefully investigated.

In this case, I do think the inclusion appears based in reality. The list should also include a number of other countries, in my opinion, but what a dark day it is that an international ally of the US and UK is included alongside those others.

The UN is anti-Israel & at this point totally discredited.

The point of the post was likely that hate speech is unacceptable.

It may be discredited to you but certainly not to me and many others. The harm to children is clear to see the witholding of food and aid, the dismantling of medical care, the denial of an education, the destruction of homes, I'm sure we both agree that those in themselves cause great harm. I don't feel it is demonising to point out the obvious, I feel that to ignore it would show that people have lost their minds.
