Why is the US doing this? If it’s necessary for Israel to attack Gaza why can’t they fund it themselves?

US reveals it paused shipment of bombs for Israel over Rafah concerns

A bomb shipment was halted last week over concerns Israel was going ahead with a Rafah offensive.

Because they are Israel's ally. It's what allies do.

Mumtoasdboys · 08/05/2024 09:47

If you can’t fund your own war then surely don’t start one ? Much like living within your means ! Reminds me of when people say in here dont have more kids than you can afford and expect the taxpayer to bail you out !

Too right. Let's start campaigning for Iran's proxies to stop supplying arms to Hamas who started this one!

Well Netanyahu has helped Hamas to buy a few weapons over the years so they could murder innocent Israeli.

Shoosh dont mention that, it doesn't fit the narrative

Israel didn't start this war! Hamas did, on October 7th. Did you miss that?

It amazes me how people disregard this fact.

Excuses for Hamas yet again.

It's talked about so little, that I assumed many people don't even know. Or care really

This. And Hamas need to release those hostages back.

It's not a fact. It's rubbish. That's why people talk about it so little - only people who want to suggest Israel facilitated and encouraged Hamas which sounds borderline Hamas apologists behaviour.

Hopefully Israel will sign up to the deal that allows for that.

Israel will only sign up for a deal that protects its borders. Fact.

Well refusing to sign up to a ceasefire spells more bad news for the hostages they allegedly care about.

I doubt many are alive as Hamas has talked about "remains."
Israel are hardly going to sign up to a deal that allows a terrorist administration to be able to attack them at will are they?

Scirocco · 08/05/2024 11:08

It would be helpful to have an enforceable deal/commitment to borders. Maybe then there could be an end to occupation.

But they had control of their boarders? They ignored women in the military who told their male superiors that some Palestinians were acting oddly, on multiple occasions leading up to the events that started this.

Well they're not destroying terrorists at the moment, are they? They're destroying Gaza.

And yes, I share your fears that many are dead. It's hard to see how they could have survived months of bombardment without basic food, water and medicines being let in.

Because someone is making a shit tonne of cash off the back of people dying on both sides.

If it wasn't Israel they would be supplying selling them to someone.

War makes a lot of people men very, very rich

ByUmberViewer · 08/05/2024 11:42

Israel can purchase arms anywhere they want.

Countries can sell arms to whoever they want.

Plus, Israel and America are allies - of course they help each other.
